Chapter 42 - Chapter 18: Beast for A Beast Part 2

Everyone else present there had the same feeling but was still afraid of the past trauma that had returned before them.

As the first group of beasts were instantly killed, the remaining beasts attacked him from behind. Piercing through other beasts' bodies, they tried to bite him. He was not ready for the attack but wasn't afraid. He lured the beasts closer and struck them.

Twenty-eight beasts bit him, pulling his flesh apart, but he remained calm; neither did he scream, nor did he lose his will.

"I carry his will. I will not stop HERE!" he roared. His eyes glowed with bluish-violet energy, and his body, which was turning dark violet due to the beasts biting, was covered with bluish-violet energy. "I am not done YET!" he roared once again. His energy skyrocketed.

His energy moved a few meters in height and took a clear form of bluish flame with white-violet sparks inside, making the beasts more attracted to him. His blade, which had grown from a short sword to a long sword, and his eyes filled with unparalleled determination.

One of the beasts pulled his left arm from his shoulder and started to feed on it. That beast turned towards him again, moved its tongue across his face, and started heading towards him.

Beasts were pulling his back flesh, exposing his spine and internal organs, but he did not scream at all. After a few minutes, everything turned silent. The beasts started to move towards their new target with excitement in their eyes.

"Crack!" A faint sound came from his blade, which started to crack from its handle. His body, which barely had any flesh other than his torso, was lying there. A violet spark started to form around his blade but faded into nothingness.

While this was happening, everyone was frozen in their place.

The area was filled with the smell of vomit and blood; a few fainted, and a few closed their eyes to stop themselves from seeing that sight.

The beasts were moving closer and closer, and none of the people had any will left to fight. "I cannot wait for them to kill me, I will…" a person from the crowd shouted, holding his blade just a few centimeters away from his heart but couldn't take the step. "Can you help me? Kill me," he asked the people standing next to him, but everyone was trying to ignore him.

"You are not alone; we all are afraid," someone said from the people in front of him. He wiped his tears and asked, "Who are you and…" He tried to find the person speaking to him, but he was only able to hear their words.

"Don't wonder, you cannot see me from that far." With a brief pause, he said, "If you are so afraid, go and end your own life. Don't stain your people's hands with your coward's blood.

" Everything was silent for some time, and then he shouted, "I am not a coward, you are a coward. If you are so brave and unafraid, why are you still here?"

"Go and die already in this battle, just like that man," he said sarcastically. Everyone around him was looking at him in confusion and then turning back. They often peeked to see what he was doing and then, in confusion, turned forward again.

"Why are you looking at me like this?" he asked the person close to him in frustration. "Nothing," at first that person didn't respond much, but after some time, he shouted at him, "Why are you disturbing me? Go there and die if you want. I have nothing to do with you."

In confusion, he turned back, holding his blade, and looked very disappointed. "Okay, okay, I know I am a coward, so what? Not everyone can be a hero. He was special, so he died like a hero."

"Sir, go. We can handle it from here," he heard people scream, charging to their deaths. "What is going on?" he shouted, but his shout was overwhelmed by the screams of the people.

"Charge!" a person shouted, but the next moment he was eaten from the middle, yet he had a calm smile on his face. This process of a death march continued, choking the heart of the person who had just tried to mock his efforts. And there was one more person whose heart was aching from the same Carciyan.

"You must go NOW!" the person next to him shouted and then charged to their death. "Their sacrifice means something, or nothing, depends on you," one person said and marched towards their death.

Carciyan, with tears in his eyes, ran towards that girl, but hearing those battle roars made his heart ache more and more.

That person was still standing in his place, motionless, his breathing irregular, and his eyes constantly trying to search for something or someone. "Why are you going to your graves?" he shouted. He waited for a reply but had no luck; he received no reply and heard only the battle roars, which turned silent within minutes or less.

"If we die today, will it matter?" a person behind him said, putting a hand on his shoulder. That person put his hand down and said, "Yes, yes, you are correct. I know it would matter, so let's run," he said, trying to move away from the area, but when he turned to see the person who had asked him the question, they were smiling.
