Chapter 245 - Deep floors

From there I stood up and walked to the nearest tree. Placing my hand on the thing and a flex of my power later I had a sheet of fine quality paper. I walked back over to the scrawl on the sand and began to copy it now in small print on the paper. Even still it took the entire front and back of the paper to copy it all. It was a strange language of gashes and jagged dots that seemed to have no real order to it but still made my cursed energy excited. -

I put away the paper as this was neither the time or place to test what the individual characters meant or even possibly did. I decided to relax now since tomorrow I'd be delving even deeper into the dungeon. What came after this was officially the deep floors with the white palace starting at floor thirty seven. This is an area that level four monsters mostly populate and as a result you have to be at minimum level four to be useful here. The floor is one massive one split up in a maze-like way with the center being the "colosseum" that Udeaus, the next monster rex of the dungeon spawns in.-

This area is considered the most dangerous if you aren't careful or very powerful because the numbers of the monsters here NEVER decrease. You can't just clear an area of monsters, catch your breath and move on. The monsters on this floor constantly spawn in to refill the lost numbers. For anyone else this was a nightmare but for me? An all you can eat smoke buffet. My gut told me the dungeon probably wouldn't take this so kindly if I stayed too long gorging myself on the Spartoi, Peluda, Skull sheep, Worm well, Barbarian, Lizardman elite, Obsidian soldier, Loup garou, ooze and of course Udeaus.-

Spartoi were standard fantasy fare skeletons(weapons included) but as strong as a high three or low four. Peluda were a thin green dragon type monster with an incredibly nasty poison in it's porcupine like back barbs that is next to impossible to cure without specialized treatment or a unicorn horn. Skull sheep were basically long sheep type monsters made entirely of bones and covered in dark tattered skin from it's back like a cloak that makes it hard to tell how it's going to attack as all you see in the dim light is the skull floating there.-

Worm well or Lambton as many nickname the things were massive rare snake type monsters over five meters tall and twice that long. It has three sets of amber colored eyes and it can swallow an orc whole by opening it's mouth fully. It's a level four monster that relies not on sight but heat sensing to hunt. It's most valuable and/or annoying feature is it can dig between floors meaning while rare it has been know to pop up on higher floors wiping out under leveled adventurers in the process.-

Barbarians are kinda like the minotaurs bigger more naturally gifted cousin as they stand two meters tall have two curved horns, yellow eyes, black skin and red hair. Naturally they are also as strong as a high three or low four. Lizardman elites are basically the lizardman's version of hobgoblins, Nuf said. Obsidian soldiers were basically golems though misshapen humanoid things made of obsidian and hardened lava with a single purple light in a hole at the center of it's "face" and the annoying ability to weaken any magic used on it and tank hits like a champ.-

Loup garou are tall muscular humanoid creatures with wolf heads that use tools and their high agility to fight. The crazy part is that of all monsters recorded to have been on the surface these fuckers are attributed with the most casualties as they raided settlements at night in numbers to kill anyone and everyone they could. Next up is another classic fantasy staple, the ooze or slime depending on your preference. Unlike the trope where these things would be cannon fodder however these ones were lethal and damn good at killing unfortunate or careless adventurers.-

They are slow and come in various colors that all have their own unique flavors of bad for your health. Yellow oozes are acid as all hell which added on to the fact the only way to kill them is with magic or attacking their stone cores means they are the number one cause of fucked up weapons in this layer of the dungeon. Blue ones are fond of waiting on the walls for careless fuckers to pass by before dropping on and infiltrating their body through ANY hole they find. Rated in the top five worst ways to die in the dungeon by the way.-

The red ones are highly flammable and use that property offensively with their innate fire magic to douse poor fuckers in slime and light them up. The green ones are the blandest and most basic of the lot and the white are healer types for other monsters. A fun fact is that each and every one of their slimes are used in potions or crafting with the blue slime even being drinkable after boiling though the taste is not great I'm told. Finally there's Udeaus himself, well it is a giant fucking skeleton so no gender but it's usually said in the male so meh.-

Anyways yeah it's basically a giant skeleton torso sticking out the ground of the colosseum standing like ten or fifteen meters tall. It uses it's arms to attack or summons these sort of black bone spears from the ground that are quite nasty if not dodged. As one Ais Wallenstein discovered when she chose to solo it at level five the monster upgrades itself with a massive fucking sword if challenged alone. The guild theorizes that all monster rexes might have a secret trigger like this that only activates when a specific condition is fulfilled.-

For Amphisbaena it's merely being spawned in as it can move between the floors of the water palace level. For the goliath it hasn't been figured out yet and the same is true for the Balor though that's mostly because few people challenge that as it's a solid level seven monster rex.
