Chapter 81 - A Monitor

Bel scoffed and turned to the open carriage window, folding her arms as she looked out. Did he really need blood? He didn't look like he was dying, and she doubted he was lying. He had no reason to lie to her, and she didn't think her blood was so tasty that he would go to such lengths just to get her to give him some.

He didn't seem insistent and she figured he was just trying to get under her skin like always. This pissed her off.

She didn't know how long vampires could go without drinking or how often they needed to, but two days seemed like a long time. Turning her head from the window, she glanced at him; his arms were folded, and his eyes were shut tight. 

As if he sensed her staring, Davien started to open his eyes, and Bel immediately looked back outside. She didn't want him to catch her staring. Bel watched the roads as they moved; the passageways didn't change much. This wasn't good; if everything looked the same, how did people find their way around here?
