Damion falls backwards after absorbing Desmond's soul that he took from the monster. The monster slumps backwards onto its knees and stops regenerating.
Elise-"I think (sigh) it's over"
Adam-"I broke my sword during that fight, its gonna be a nightmare getting it fixed"
Marigold-"I'm sure Julius can get it fixed"
Joe-"I'm just so happy that we survived that, I thought for sure we were going to die"
Elise-"You know you should really try being more positive"
Marigold looks up and sees the two robogolems still chipping away at the monster's head.
Marigold-"You two can stop now"
Adam-"Let them keep going. For a monster of this caliber it's good to make sure it's fully gone"
Elise-"Where is Julius, did he bail on us in the middle of the fight?"
Marigold-"I think he was completely out of mana after he used his support skills on us. We can't see him because he has to use a light skill to illuminate himself. I'm sure he's around here somewhere"
Joe-"Hey guys, is Damion alright?"
Joe points out Damion lying on the ground.
Joe-"Some of his hair turned white, is it some kind of recoil from his magic?"
Marigold goes over to check on Damion.
Marigold-"Damion, can you hear me?"
Marigold tries patting Damion's head but he doesn't respond.
Elise-"Maybe that move drains all of his stamina like my attack did"
Adam-"I told you not to use that move anymore"
Elise-"Well it was either that or dying so I figured just passing out would be the better option"
Joe-"How long do you think it will take for Julius to come back?"
Adam-"I don't think it will take long, he just has to regain enough mana for that small light skill and sound skill"
Marigold-"It's always weird to think that without those he's actually too small to see or hear"
Marigold-"And I thought I had it rough"
Elise-"Well, we should go ahead and destroy the rest of this monster before Julius's boosts run out"
Adam-"I'll let you handle that, my sword has already taken enough damage"
Elise-"Sure leave me with cleanup duty"
Joe-"You're the one with a fire skill. And it's a plant monster"
Elise-"Be quiet Joe, you probably couldn't even destroy this monster while it's dead"
Joe-"Yeah I could... it would just take a while"
Elise-"(sigh) whatever. Evolved skill: solar beam"
Elise fires a beam of plasma at the monster to begin slowly burning it away. Marigold looks over at the wall and sees the vines starting to wither away.
Marigold-"Now that the monster is dead the dark magic is being removed from the environment"
Adam-"It's crazy that the monster created all of these catacombs. It may have even created the entire forest above us too"
Joe-"Well you'd be able to create a forest like this too right? With your nature skill"
Adam-"Yeah but it would take a while. And I wouldn't have all of the control over it like this monster did"
Joe-"I hope Damion will be alright"
Marigold-"I'm sure that when Julius comes back he can use his stamina recovery on Damion to wake him back up"
Elise-"Hey guys, look at the monster"
Joe-"It's still alive!?"
Elise-"No. It's turning to stone"
Elise points at the monster. Its chest has a hole burnt through it from her attack but the rest of the body has turned to stone. The two robogolems are still chipping away at its stone shoulder tearing up small rocks while making a loud scraping sound.
Joe-"You should have led with that, you nearly gave me a heart attack!"
Adam-"The vines are turning to stone too, I thought they were just withering away"
Marigold-"It's probably because the monster created them. Now that the monster is dead the plants are turning back to their original state"
Adam-"Their original state?"
Marigold-"From what I can tell the monster likely converted the stone into those plants similar to what Julius does"
Joe-"Why not just make the plants from scratch"
Marigold-"Generating objects from pure mana takes more energy than converting other objects into new ones"
Joe-"Oh well, I knew that"
Marigold-"No you didn't. It normally doesn't matter much on small scales like attacks or making small objects, but when controlling something as big as this forest and these caves it makes sense it would take the easier route"
Elise-"I just thought it turned to stone cause dark magic stuff"
Adam-"Seems fitting"
Marigold-"You guys have no idea about the intricacies of magic"
Elise-"It's really not that complicated"
Marigold-"(sigh)"
Damion's hands and eyes start twitching.
Damion-"Ugh"
Joe-"Hey guys Damion is waking up"
Marigold-"That's good, I was worried he would be out for a while"
Damion begins to sit up.
Marigold(in her head)-"The amount of dark magic inside of Damion. It seems far greater than before. Did he absorb some of that monster's power?"
Adam-"You feeling okay?"
Damion-"(groans) I-"
A golden beam crashes down through the ceiling. The beam collides with the monster's stone corpse shattering it.
Adam-"What was that?"
The dust settles and the there is a golden spear stabbed into the ground.
Elise-"A weapon?"
Someone descends from the hole in the ceiling. The person has long yellow and red hair. The person also has scaly wings coming out of his back flapping as he slowly floats down to the ground.
???-"That's weird, the spear shouldn't have turned it to stone. This was the monster right?"
Marigold-"Who are you?"
???-"Hmm?"
The mystery man looks over at the group.
???-"A guy with a magic bow, some guy with a broken sword, a girl with muscles... You guys are fellow adventurers I assume"
Elise-"So you're also an adventurer?"
???-"Figured that was obvious, I'm here on Atlas's orders. He said a new upper A rank monster appeared. Was that thing it-"
The mystery man looks over and sees Damion on the ground. He notices the dark magic emanating from him.
???-"Well, seems I've found my monster. Ascended Holy skill: god's forge"
The spear disappears and the man creates a golden sword in his hand.
???-"I suggest you stand back"
