Chapter 69 - Chapter 15 (Part 4)

Gohan opened the door to his chamber, Vermont's tone strangely urgent. Diana, who had been gazing into Gohan's eyes not even two seconds ago in bed, was stunned to realize he had already left it.

"I hate to interrupt your much-needed rest, but there is something you must investigate."

Gohan nodded before turning back to Diana, who was also up and ready.

"I'm ready," she answered instantly. Gohan nodded once more and turned back to Vermont.

"Alright, let's gather Strix and—"

"Unfortunately, as formidable as Lady Strix may be, there is a high likelihood that even she would not be safe accompanying us."

Vermont's words froze both Gohan and Diana. His eyes flicked toward her.

"This, unfortunately, will require the might of a Destroyer God who cannot afford to be distracted," Vermont explained.

Diana's eyes hardened, her lips pressed into a thin line. A part of her bristled at being sidelined—not out of pride, but out of the gnawing thought of Gohan walking into something alone. Still, she knew better than to let her heart override the truth of Vermont's words.

"I understand," she said quietly, though her tone carried weight. "If even Strix is to remain behind, then I'd only be one more concern for you to carry." Her gaze flicked to Gohan, steady but pained. "That doesn't mean I'll rest easy while you're gone. Just… come back. Both of you."

Gohan smiled apologetically at her. "We will," he said before turning back to Vermont, his expression growing serious.

"Let's go."

They exited the castle. Gohan gave Diana a final kiss before placing his hand on Vermont's back, just as a small but powerful aura surged toward them.

"Take me with!" a girl cried out as she charged in at full power, reaching for Gohan's shoulder. She was shocked when Gohan turned and shook his head—just as Vermont's speed made her look as if she were standing still.

She flashed past them as the two vanished, slamming into a small hill and reducing it to rubble.

Across the universe, as the pair disappeared, the option to view the journey of the Destroyer God reappeared, and countless beings tuned in immediately.

"So, what are we dealing with?" Gohan asked seriously, powering up into Super Saiyan Rosé.

"I do not know as of yet. My staff has been detecting danger—but what concerns me is that it cannot discern the source, only its presence." Vermont looked truly troubled.

Gohan nodded. "It could be a rogue god, one like Trigon—capable of existing within the Abyss."

Vermont could only nod as his staff glowed with a faint blue hue.

"There seems to be an unprecedented loss of life occurring on Planet Earth as we speak," he murmured, peering deeper into his staff. Gohan's face grew alarmed.

"It's only been a day or so. Has there been another attack?" he asked.

"Not exactly. It seems to be the consequence of some foolish humans, one of whom you have yet to make an example of."

Gohan went quiet for a few seconds before nodding. "Amanda Waller… I know your name. Once I'm done here, I'll be paying you a visit personally on Planet Earth." His voice was ominous, his eyes faintly glowing red.

He was cut short as Vermont slowed before stopping. "We have arrived, milord."

They floated just before the barrier that held the mist out—the new boundary of their universe.

Gohan lifted his hand, cutting a precise hole through the barrier. He and Vermont stepped through, Vermont's staff glowing faintly as it conjured a shield around them.

"I cannot create a very large barrier; that is beyond my capabilities while in the Abyss," he explained.

Gohan nodded. The barrier was decently sized—at least half the size of the God Cube.

Glancing out, he could see his universe, the once marble like barrier was gone, replaced by extensive damage and cracks. Turning forward he could sense something.

"Is that?" Gohan questioned as Vermont nodded.

"That is a multiverse, they are barely holding on? It seems they weren't as fortunate," he explained as Gohan nodded.

"Let's go, I want to get a closer look, maybe we could help them," Gohan proposed as Vermont nodded, they slowly began their journey across the Abyss.

"It could take us a few months, perhaps half a year to reach them," Vermont explained as Gohan grimaced.

"That's a long time to leave our home alone, hold on." Gohan said as Vermont slowed to a halt.

"No, this isn't worth it, Vermont, we cannot leave the inhabitants of our universe alone," Gohan explained as Vermont suppressed a smile.

"You are most correct, however, my staff still has not given me any indication on what the threat could be, the only thing I can detect currently is that multiverse," he explained.

"We could leave it, and turn around, but then we won't know what my staff is alerting me for,"

Gohan's fists clenched. "If we were to travel through the 6th dimension?"

"It is certainly a possibility, however, using the 6th dimension to travel incomprehensible distances was rare but it was an efficient travel method for incredible distances, for even the highest combat gods, however, with the Omni-King gone, untold dangers could lurk within the 6th dimension, it is said that is where he set reality in motion.

"Gods older than I am traverse, that domain, one of the main reasons my elder brother was nearly impossible to find was because he travelled through the 6th dimension exclusively."

Gohan nodded. "Let's do that, last time I was nowhere near powerful enough to remain in the 6th dimension, but after so much growth, I should be alright now."

His body pulsed as he transformed into his Ultra Ego state, far surpassing his previous strength. He placed his hand forward, and as if drawing a line, he pulled it down, slicing through what seemed to be nothing.

Before them, the line widened and widened until it revealed a dazzling, white rainbow-colored spectrum. The two nodded before stepping through.

The broadcast spell instantly went to static.

Gohan's eyes widened as he felt the immense, yet peaceful, wave of aura gently wash over him—before immediately sensing that something was wrong.

"The shift has changed elements of the 6th dimension. It seems the Time Genesis has imposed sanctions… Going back before the shift is… not possible. And the Space Genesis seems to be almost entirely disabled or malfunctioning," Vermont explained. Gohan nodded in amazement; he could feel all of time and space—or at least the part that wasn't broken beyond repair.

"Incredible… it's like this is supposed to be a backup of time and space, the blueprint of everything." Knowledge and power seemed to swirl around them. Gohan's eyes were filled with wonder, his body with bliss, until a hand firmly rested on his shoulder, pulling the Destroyer back from his euphoric oblivion.

"Strengthen your mind more, milord. It seems even this dimension is under immense strain. As powerful as you are now, you remain vulnerable to losing your mind," Vermont warned. Gohan slowly shook his head, then nodded, allowing his energy of destruction to coat both him and his mind in a protective layer.

"We can't waste a second," Gohan said, closing his eyes and pointing to the left. "That way should be the path, the reason we chose to travel through the 6th dimension."

"I'll speed up time for us here, like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber." Being at the dawn of creation helped—he had all the tools necessary to bend the laws of the lower living world: Time and Space Genesis.

Immediately, they vanished in white light as Vermont took off at full speed. But unlike before, what would have taken nearly half a year could now be accomplished in just six hours.
