Lan Lan's calm tone made Chiang Hengda panic: "Lan Lan, what do you mean?"
"What I mean is," Lan Lan looked at him, word by word, firmly and forcefully, "I want a divorce."
Chiang Hengda thought he was hearing things.
He rubbed his ears, his face full of disbelief: "What did you say? Divorce? You really want to divorce me?!"
"Yes."
Chiang Hengda still couldn't believe it: "Lan Lan, if you divorce me, you won't get a cent!"
"When I married you, money wasn't what I was after." Lan Lan lifted her eyes and looked at him calmly, "Back then, you disguised yourself so well that I mistakenly thought I found the love of my life. I gave up my career, didn't want a penny from the Chiang family, and acted humble in front of your parents just to live lovingly with you. But until now, I realize I was terribly wrong."
