(POV GENERAL)
"Everyone report to the briefing room for your next assignment."
Over the intercom system within Mount Justice Batman's tone emitted no emotion capitalizing his robotic voice that screamed lack of joy and ordered the team to come back. Which surprised the group who didn't know they were being watched by Batman.
With the sharpness of the order given the intercom cut itself off signaling there wasn't anything else to be said and so Blitzwolfer who with a tap of his collar turned back to his human form as his normal form. Mainly being his stealth slash hero suit with his sword and mask off.
Once Josh looked at Ibis and Ice and walked to them as the team followed him "Thank you for helping us train and hopefully you won't be opposed to helping us again?" Josh exclaimed with a satisfied smile on his face.
Ibis and Ice looked at each other both seeming to have enjoyed their time and agreed to proceed in training again under different reasons. Ibis was the most normal of the two saying that thanks to this "Operation:Nightshade" as it was called inspired Ibis to train more in his combat skills and not to solely focus on his magical aspects.
Ice however had another reason "I'd like to settle the score next we meet Superboy and Miss Martian." This seemed like a normal challenge however the woman of the party noticed a vague glance at some of the growing heroes and smiled, biting her lip subtly.
Josh, being one of the several men in the group was unaware of Ice's true meaning for returning, kindly shook both heroes hands "Than can't wait to see y'all again and once again thanks for training with us." Josh, polite and professional, gave a curt send off as he and the team left the battled steel football field leaving the two pros to mingle about themselves.
As the team began to climb the stairs back Josh felt something unusual. Both Artemis and M'gann acted weird, both of them were oddly closer to both Superboy and him. Who noticed that Superboy wasn't aware of it while he walked next to Aqualad and Robin who were just giving casual small talk while Kid Flash covered the back of the group due to trying to hopfully spot the Romanian Ice beauty before departure.
Josh deciding to ignore this seeming it to not really be important at this time due to Batman's orders than continued to walk forward until the exit was crossed and not just Batman was waiting unsurprising Red Tornado was present and had another addition that wasn't as expected being Dianna as she yes was the teams psychologist was off base for a few days. Electing a response of relief as most thought she may have been injured.
Once all were present Batman tapped the air as it at this point was normal to him as breathing activating the system of the mountains infrastructures computer creating a holographic blue keyboard and a monitor appeared right above the dark knight providing an interesting aesthetic.
Once the computer was present Batman began debriefing with a video of a building exploding gaining everyone's attention. "Two hours ago thanks to the treaty of Rhelssia both North and South rulers began to discuss which part of these countries would have nuclear weapons control. However both countries never came to a choice until a third party came into play…" Batman, clearly not pleased, was going to continue but was interrupted by Kid Flash.
"Okay Okay but what's with the explosion?" Kid Flash asked what everyone thought staring at the image Batman decided to continue "This building was in Metropolis where the target of interest who now controls both countries' nukes was attacked by whom were still investigating."
Now that Batman paused catching his breath Josh asked the next question which startled the group "Does that mean Lex?" Everyone paused except Batman tapped another blue key erasing the video replacing it with another Of a man being handcuffed to a silver briefcase this man being chained was the infamous Lex Luthor.
Seeing the image of Lex Luthor everyone momentarily startled with animosity only for Kid Flash to speak "Um do we have to help him?" Batman began to scold Kid but was stopped by Aqualad who looked at Kid scolding him enough while Robin simply cackled in laughter.
Josh, normal to the scene, just ignored it and looked to the corner of the room where on the counter top in the kitchen held his sword which lay across from his mask which only took about thirty seconds to equip and walk back to the group clearly evident that he wasn't pleased with this mission.
Batman, noticing the change, kept to himself and began to finish the mission parameters "This team will require two teams, one for protection and the other for tracking the enemy once they attack." Batman then finished his report with the second video closing in on Lex Luther's face "This is your charge however I expect you to be vigilant of Luther as he is known to be maladaptive."
Understanding the mission Josh looked to his team and then to Batman and then solely on Kaldur and said "Kaldur I want you to take command of this mission." This surprised everyone including Batman but given his years of experience toned it to the point it wasn't noticeable. The party questioned Josh "Are you sure I don't feel ready?" Josh played it off taping Kaldur's shoulder "It's alright you will do fine." Josh paused and looked back to Kaldur and passed him "But if you need help just call out."
Kaldur following the order to take command ordered the team to go to the BIOSHIP for transport while Josh was already enroute to BIOSHIP. Once ordered everyone followed suit until everyone was aboard begin ascent into the skies towards Metropolis where in flight everyone was given order by Kaldur forming the teams the first comprising of Artemis, Superboy, Robin and Shift for the tracking Team. While the protection team included himself, Miss Martian and Kid Flash. After the order was given Kid Flash momentarily shouted in glee as he was with Miss Martian who he still had feelings for, but knew if he'd try anything Shift would get on him for it.
Shift in question instead of sitting in the comande area beside Miss Martian who controlled BIOSHIP sat where Kaldur sat which was located on the right side of the ship next to Artemis who both didn't mind the company.
After about ten to thirty minutes travel the ship became infatuated with small talk where the team was still a team of teenagers who needed a distraction before gallivanting on a mission. Robin and Kid talked games while Superboy listened, maintaining his silence. Kaldur and M'gann talked about how her connection to BIOSHIP was so well made where M'gann then recalled her time on Mars.
While Artemis and Shift talked about idea's for their next date. With each formation of a sentence Josh came closer and closer to the ideal place for Artemis who seemed somehow more and more attractive the more he talked to her. Artemis was aware of Josh's questions on picking out what she enjoyed and don't, but didn';t mind as she too asked questions which Josh answered erecting the same feeling Josh had for her in Artemis.
After about twenty more minutes BIOSHIP arrived in Metropolis focusing on one tall if not the tallest building in the city with a capitalized L as its logo. BIOSHIp maintaining target stopped right above LexCorp dispatching the team onto the hoverpad thanks to the rope that descended from BIOSHIP..
Once lowered everyone landed on the launch pad of LexCorp where to meet them were an ensemble of men in black wearing tactical gear armed with assault rifles and carrying sidearms. All of the men were also wearing black helmets for protection from any headshot attempts or any other head related attacked mainly from enemies like Robin or Artemis who both relied strongly on throwable objects.
Once the team landed the armed forces of LexCorp surrounded them, encircling them while a voice penetrated the silence "Oh? It seems the Justice League has sent their little ones for my protection. Oh how safe I feel." The beginning sounded calm and charismatic turn cold and sarcastic between sentences until a figure caught Lex's attention.
"Oh? Shift and hear I thought you didn't enjoy my company from our last encounter." Lex wearing his average outfit of a suit seemed to have no discrepancies from his last time with Shift with the addition of a chained briefcase to his left arm. Shift ignored Lex, looked to his arm and smiled under his mask while Aqualad took point.
"We are here to protect you, Mister Luther. My team in case another attack on your life will both protect you and stop any who do you harm." Aqualad delivered a military-like command tone detailing his and his teammates' mission. Which didn't surprise Lex as his attention remained on The Brain's pet project. "Oh? I thought Shift was your team's leader?" Lex's question was hidden with some innocence but everyone on the team knew better than to believe the words a pathological liar.
