Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Five Minutes to Ruin

"'Athena, is there a way to use my true power—even if only for a short time?'*

Akira asked in his thoughts. He wasn't in a condition to fight due to his incomplete evolution, but he didn't want to miss the chance to battle Guy, hoping to understand the new power growing within him with every passing second.*

{That's impossible. However, it is possible to borrow magical energy temporarily from the individual Velgrynd due to the spiritual pathway between her and Master.}

"I see…"*

Akira nodded faintly before turning his gaze to Velgrynd.*

"I want to borrow your magical energy for a while."*

This wasn't a request or an order—merely a declaration. He knew she wouldn't refuse, even if he drained her energy dry. Their bond was so deep that words were unnecessary.

"Of course."*

Velgrynd didn't hesitate, sending her magical energy to Akira unreservedly through their spiritual link.*

{I will suppress Master's evolution to prevent absorption of the borrowed energy. However, this can only last for 5 minutes. Master must defeat Guy Crimson within that time.}

The power surged through his body like life returning to a dead trunk after the first spring rain. It wasn't a mere rush—it was a warm, overwhelming wave that flooded his depths, slow at first, then accelerating. It was as if the withered roots of his soul had found water again. Something long forgotten—something primal—awoke within him, rising from its ashes, roaring after an eternity of silence. Every cell in his body trembled, not from pain, but from the ecstasy of fullness. Each breath grew heavy, as if his lungs held not air, but a gentle fire weaving softly between his bones.

'No problem.'*

Akira smirked, cracking his neck. It had been too long since he'd felt such power coursing through him.*

'Is he borrowing magic from the Scorch Dragon…?'*

Guy's face turned grave. Despite Akira appearing as the weakest in the group, the pressure he radiated now was terrifying.*

"Rain, Misery—fall back. This is my fight."*

Guy's voice was icy as he unleashed his magical energy, ready to face Akira.*

"Understood, Guy-sama."*

Rain and Misery replied in unison, retreating respectfully. They wouldn't dare oppose his decision.*

"Guy… Can I call you that?"*

Akira glanced at the retreating duo, then continued after seeing Guy's nod.*

"If I win, I'll take your servants for myself. If I lose, I'll fulfill any wish of yours. How's that?"*

Though Akira's tone seemed casual, Guy knew it was an order—a declaration of absolute confidence. There wasn't a shred of doubt in Akira's eyes.

"Do as you please."*

Guy shrugged, indifferent to Rain and Misery. All he wanted now was a good fight.*

"Death Streak!!"*

Without hesitation, Guy unleashed his strongest attack—a dark beam fired from his palm, a spell of Nuclear Magic he'd mastered.*

The beam moved faster than sound, yet to Akira's eyes, it crawled. He didn't dodge; Athena hadn't warned him, meaning it posed no threat.

BOOM!

The moment the beam struck Akira, a deafening explosion erupted, scattering dust and debris.

"You two are reckless beyond reason."*

Velzard muttered, erecting a barrier around herself, Velgrynd, and Honoka. Velgrynd, channeling all her energy to Akira, hadn't even defended herself. Honoka, too weak for this battle's scale, stood vulnerable.*

"I don't care if I'm reckless or a fool. Since that day centuries ago, I've been ready to share my fate with him."*

Velgrynd's eyes remained closed, her blue hair swaying in the wind, her focus unbroken.*

"…"*

Velzard fell silent, staring at Akira's back, her thoughts unreadable but clearly weighty.*

{Notice: Nuclear Magic spell detected attempting to destroy Master's soul.}*

{Effects nullified by Ultimate Skill: Immortal.}*

{Analyzing Nuclear Magic spell…}*

{Compatibility detected between Nuclear Magic and True Dragon Magic: Apocalypse Magic. Nuclear Magic will serve as the foundation for crafting an Apocalypse Magic spell.}

Akira ignored Athena's voice in his head, focusing on the red-haired man before him—now visibly shocked.

Guy had known the gap between himself and True Dragons, but he'd believed Nuclear Magic could rival even them. Yet now, against Akira—the youngest and newest True Dragon—it was useless. The realization stunned him.

"My turn."*

Akira's voice rang in Guy's ear as he vanished, reappearing at his side—but transformed. His low ponytail had loosened into long, flowing hair. Black-and-red gloves sheathed his hands; a tail swayed behind him; his feet had become claws. Two strange, floating sigils hovered at his back, and an aura of absolute destruction surrounded him, as if his mere presence eroded the world.*

This was Magia Erebea, activated by absorbing a fragment of Death Streak. Though its destructive power was fearsome, it paled next to Akira's abilities as an Apocalypse Dragon. Yet it was perfect—a foundation to acclimate to his new power.
