Chapter 298 - Chapter 298: (Movie 2) The Power of One finale

The sky above Shamouti Island had become a battlefield of legends. Ash's three Mega Evolved birds hovered powerfully beside him, their new forms radiating overwhelming presence and strength. The crowd, the islanders, and even Lugia watched in stunned silence as the transformations completed.

Ash's voice rang out with absolute confidence. "Now, my friends… let's show them the true power of our bond! Fight them again Articuno vs Articuno, Zapdos vs Zapdos, Moltres vs Moltres!"

Mega Articuno vs Wild Articuno

Ash's Mega Articuno, now an Ice/Steel type, spread her massive crystalline wings. Her body gleamed with metallic ice armor, her crest shining like a crown of diamonds. She let out a regal cry that echoed across the battlefield.

The wild Articuno responded with a furious Blizzard, unleashing a freezing storm that threatened to bury everything in ice. Snow and hail whipped violently through the air.

Mega Articuno countered gracefully. With her new Steel typing and enhanced defenses, she tanked the Blizzard with minimal damage. Her wings glowed as she fired a powerful Flash Cannon mixed with Ice Beam, creating a devastating Steel-Ice beam that pierced through the wild Articuno's attack.

The wild bird screeched in pain as the beam struck true, freezing parts of its wings while the Steel energy disrupted its balance. It retaliated with Ice Shard barrages, sending sharp icicles flying toward Mega Articuno.

Ash commanded calmly, "Articuno, use Reflect then Freeze-Dry!"

Mega Articuno summoned a shimmering Reflect barrier that reduced the damage from the Ice Shards. She then unleashed Freeze-Dry, a chilling attack that targeted the wild Articuno's moisture, causing massive damage even to another Ice-type. The wild Articuno roared in agony as frost covered its body.

The wild Articuno tried Hurricane to blow away the barrier, but Mega Articuno used Roost to recover mid-fight, her crystalline body glowing as she healed. She followed up with Steel Wing, slashing across the wild Articuno's side with metallic force, leaving deep cuts.

The battle raged on. The wild Articuno used Sheer Cold in desperation, but Mega Articuno's Steel typing and Shell Armor (inherited from her previous form) greatly reduced the threat. Mega Articuno countered with Hurricane combined with Flash Cannon, creating a swirling storm of steel and ice that trapped the wild Articuno.

With one final, elegant cry, Mega Articuno delivered a devastating Blizzard infused with Steel energy. The wild Articuno crashed down, defeated and exhausted, unable to continue the fight.

Mega Zapdos vs Wild Zapdos

Ash's Mega Zapdos crackled with overwhelming electricity. His new Ground typing gave him resistance to Electric attacks, and his body had become bulkier and more armored, with glowing blue lightning patterns across his wings.

The wild Zapdos fired a massive Thunderbolt, trying to overwhelm its counterpart.

Mega Zapdos stood firm, absorbing much of the electricity thanks to its Ground typing. With a thunderous cry, it retaliated with a boosted Thunder amplified by the Electric Tower item. The sky lit up as a colossal lightning bolt struck the wild Zapdos, sending it tumbling through the air.

Ash commanded, "Zapdos, use Drill Peck combined with Earthquake!"

Mega Zapdos dove like a missile, spinning with steel-hard beak while channeling Ground energy. The impact created a localized Earthquake that shook the wild Zapdos violently.

The wild Zapdos tried to fight back with Thunder Wave and Discharge, but Mega Zapdos's superior power and new typing allowed it to push through. It used Agility to increase its speed dramatically, then unleashed a devastating Thunderbolt barrage that left the wild Zapdos scorched and grounded.

The wild Zapdos attempted Sky Attack, charging with immense power, but Mega Zapdos met it with Thunder Punch, the electrified fist colliding with the diving bird in a massive explosion. The impact sent the wild Zapdos crashing down.

Mega Zapdos finished the fight with a powerful Drill Peck followed by Earthquake, completely overwhelming its counterpart. The wild Zapdos lay defeated on the ground, unable to continue.

Mega Moltres vs Wild Moltres

Ash's Mega Moltres burned with intense golden-orange flames. His new Psychic typing gave him unexpected versatility, and the Flame Crown doubled his Fire power while granting resistance in harsh conditions.

The wild Moltres attacked with a roaring Flamethrower.

Mega Moltres countered with an even stronger Heat Wave, the flames empowered by the crown. The two firestorms collided, but Mega Moltres's superior power pushed through, engulfing the wild Moltres.

Ash commanded, "Moltres, use Psychic to control the flames and Air Slash!"

Mega Moltres's eyes glowed with Psychic energy. It seized control of the surrounding fire, shaping it into burning blades, then combined it with Air Slash to create fiery cutting winds. The wild Moltres was battered relentlessly.

The wild Moltres tried Solar Beam and Sky Attack, but Mega Moltres used Roost to recover and countered with Psychic blasts that disrupted its movements. The new Psychic typing allowed Mega Moltres to predict and counter attacks with eerie precision.

The final blow came with a devastating Flare Blitz enhanced by Psychic energy. Mega Moltres slammed into the wild Moltres with overwhelming force, defeating it completely.

The three wild legendary birds lay defeated on the ground, exhausted and no longer rampaging. Ash's Mega Evolved bird trio hovered victoriously above them, their new forms shining brilliantly.

The crowd, the islanders, and Lugia watched in absolute awe as Ash's legendary birds had completely dominated the battle.

Ash smiled proudly at his team. "You all did amazingly. Thank you."

The first major threat had been neutralized, but the final step of the prophecy still awaited at the shrine.

The sky above Shamouti Island slowly began to calm as the three wild legendary birds Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno lay defeated on the ground, exhausted and no longer rampaging. Their bodies heaved with heavy breaths, the fury that had consumed them finally subsiding.

Ash's Mega Evolved bird trio hovered victoriously above them. With a brilliant flash of light, they exited their Mega forms, returning to their original majestic appearances. Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres let out powerful, harmonious victory cries that echoed across the entire island, their voices blending into a triumphant song that seemed to chase away the remaining storm clouds.

The reaction was immediate and overwhelming.

The islanders, who had been watching the battle from below in fear and awe, erupted into thunderous cheers. The gathered Pokémon thousands of them who had crossed the frozen seas cried out in celebration. Ash's girls Misty, Sabrina, Daisy, and Giselle jumped up and down, screaming with joy and relief.

Misty had tears in her eyes. "They did it! Ash's birds were incredible!"

Sabrina smiled beautifully, pride radiating from her. "The bond between them and Ash is truly something special."

Daisy clapped enthusiastically. "Look at them… they fought so bravely!"

Giselle cheered with sparkling eyes. "Master Ash's team is the strongest!"

Tracey was cheering while still sketching madly. "This is the greatest moment I've ever witnessed!"

Ash looked up at his three legendary birds with a proud, warm smile. He raised his hand and called out to them. "You all did amazingly! I'm so proud of each and every one of you. Thank you for fighting so hard for me and for everyone here."

The three birds descended gracefully, nuzzling against Ash with deep affection. Their victory cries softened into contented sounds as they basked in their trainer's praise.

At that moment, a familiar chime rang in Ash's mind.

Rewards:

Elemental Mastery: You can now freely manipulate Ice, Lightning, and Fire elements at an advanced level.

Ash's eyes widened in pleasant surprise. Elemental manipulation and a title that boosts Flying-types? This is incredible! He mentally accepted the rewards with a big grin, feeling a surge of new power flow through him.

He recalled his three legendary birds into their Ultra Balls with gentle words of gratitude. "Rest well, my friends. You've earned it."

With Dragonite still by his side, Ash climbed onto the dragon's back once more. "Dragonite, take us back to the Shamouti Shrine. The girls and everyone are waiting."

Dragonite roared powerfully and shot into the sky, carrying Ash swiftly toward the shrine.

When Ash landed near the Shamouti Shrine, his girls immediately rushed toward him. Misty, Sabrina, Daisy, and Giselle jumped on him all at once, showering him with affection and worried kisses on his cheeks, forehead, and lips.

Misty hugged him tightly. "You scared us! But you were amazing out there!"

Sabrina kissed his cheek softly. "I'm so relieved you're safe."

Daisy and Giselle clung to him from both sides, their eyes misty with happy tears. "Don't ever make us worry like that again!"

Melody watched the scene from a short distance, a strange sour feeling twisting in her stomach. She couldn't quite name it a mix of envy and something warmer she didn't want to admit.

Tracey went full fan mode, eyes sparkling. "Ash! I never knew Pokémon could evolve past their final stage! And legendary Pokémon evolving too?! This is unbelievable! You have to explain Mega Evolution to me later!"

Ash laughed warmly, hugging his girls back. "I'll explain everything once this is over. Right now, we need to finish the ritual."

The talking Slowking approached, its crown glowing with psychic energy. It gestured toward the three ancient pedestals at the heart of the shrine.

Ash stepped forward and carefully placed the final Ice Sphere onto its pedestal. The three orbs Fire, Ice, and Lightning began to glow brightly in unison. A warm, harmonious light spread across the shrine.

Slowking turned to Melody. "It is time. Play the song."

Melody raised her flute with slightly trembling hands. She began to play the beautiful, haunting melody Lugia's song. The notes floated through the air, pure and powerful.

The three pillars of the shrine glowed in perfect tune with the music. The light from the orbs intensified, spreading across the island and beyond.

In the distance, the fallen Lugia stirred. The guardian of the seas slowly rose, revitalized by the ancient song. Its majestic form glowed with renewed power as balance began to return to the world.

The legendary birds calmed, the storms subsided, and the chaotic weather across the Orange Archipelago started to stabilize.

Ash stood at the center of it all, surrounded by his girls, with his Pokémon and friends by his side. The prophecy had been fulfilled.

The world was saved.

The three orbs Fire, Ice, and Lightning shone brightly on their pedestals at the heart of the Shamouti Shrine. The ancient melody played by Melody continued to echo across the island, its pure notes weaving through the air like a healing song. Slowly, the chaotic storms began to calm. The raging winds softened, and the dark clouds started to part, allowing rays of sunlight to break through.

From the turbulent sea, a majestic figure rose.

Lugia.

The great guardian of the waters ascended gracefully, its massive silver-white body gleaming under the emerging sun. The Diving Pokémon flew directly toward the shrine and landed gently in front of Ash. Its wise, ancient eyes met Ash's with deep gratitude.

Lugia lowered its head and motioned with one massive wing, inviting Ash to climb onto its back.

Ash smiled warmly. "Thank you, Lugia."

He climbed onto the guardian's back with ease. Pikachu and Eevee immediately jumped up, taking their favorite spots Pikachu on Ash's shoulder and Eevee nestled securely against his side. Ash's own legendary bird trio Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres followed behind Lugia, flying in perfect formation like a royal escort.

Lugia's calm, powerful psychic voice resonated in Ash's mind, and those close enough could also hear it faintly.

"Chosen One… Ash Ketchum. You have my deepest thanks. You have helped restore order to the world. The harmony between fire, ice, and lightning has been preserved once more."

Lugia paused for a moment, its head tilting slightly as if sensing something. Its eyes softened with surprise and warmth.

"I feel it… an egg of my own kind. Similar to me. It rests in your bag."

Ash blinked, then reached into his backpack and carefully took out the incubator containing the glowing Lugia egg. He held it gently in his hands.

Lugia's body began to glow with a beautiful white and blue light. A stream of pure, gentle energy flowed from the guardian toward the egg. The egg responded immediately, glowing brighter and brighter on Ash's palms. Cracks started to form across its surface with soft, melodic sounds.

With a final, brilliant burst of light, the egg hatched.

A tiny baby Lugia emerged, its small silver body still slightly damp from the egg. Its eyes opened slowly, looking around with innocent curiosity. The baby Lugia saw Ash first, then Pikachu and Eevee. With a happy little cry, it waddled forward and nuzzled affectionately against Ash's chest, then gently rubbed against Pikachu and Eevee.

The moment was incredibly heartwarming. Ash smiled softly, gently stroking the baby's head. "Welcome to the world, little one."

Lugia's psychic voice was filled with paternal warmth.

"I have given the little one my blessing the ability to control the weather. Ash… I wish for you to take good care of this child. Raise it with the same love and strength you have shown today."

As Lugia prepared to depart, it lowered its head one last time. A beautiful, shimmering Silver Wing detached from its body and floated gently into Ash's hands. The feather glowed with a soft, silvery light, radiating Lugia's pure power.

"Take this Silver Wing as a token of our bond. It will guide and protect you on your future journeys."

Ash held the Silver Wing reverently. "Thank you, Lugia. I'll treasure it always."

Lugia then spread its massive wings. "Come. Let us fly together one last time."

Ash, Pikachu, and Eevee held on as Lugia soared into the sky. Ash's bird trio flew gracefully beside them Articuno on the left, Zapdos and Moltres on the right creating a breathtaking formation of legendary Pokémon against the clearing sky.

From below, Ash's girls, Melody, Tracey, and the islanders watched in awe as the group flew across the horizon. Misty, Sabrina, Daisy, and Giselle waved with tears of joy and pride in their eyes.

Suddenly, a giant stream of water rose out of the ocean the legendary Beast of the Sea. Lugia sang a powerful, calming song, and the massive water entity responded, swirling peacefully before vanishing back into the depths, its power tamed once more.

One by one, the legendary birds returned to their islands. Moltres flew toward Fire Island, Zapdos toward Lightning Island, and Articuno toward its frozen domain. The balance of the world had been restored.

Lugia gently brought Ash, Pikachu, and Eevee back to the shrine, where the girls were waiting with open arms. The baby Lugia stayed nestled safely in Ash's arms, already bonding with its new family.

The long, legendary ordeal had finally come to an end.

The Power of One had been fulfilled.

As Lugia disappeared into the horizon with one final, graceful cry, the sky above Shamouti Island finally cleared completely. Golden sunlight bathed the island once more, and a gentle sea breeze carried away the last remnants of the storm. The gathered Pokémon began to disperse peacefully, returning to their homes now that balance had been restored.

Ash stood on the shrine steps, the baby Lugia nestled contentedly in his arms. The Silver Wing he had received from Lugia shimmered softly in his pocket. A profound sense of peace washed over him.

Then, a familiar chime echoed in his mind.

Ash was momentarily stunned. A wide, excited grin slowly spread across his face. King of the Sea… Water Manipulation… This is incredible!

While Ash was internally celebrating his new rewards, a small scene unfolded on the wreckage of Lawrence III's crashed aircraft nearby. The wealthy collector, slightly disheveled but alive, rummaged through the debris with a resigned expression. His grand ambitions had been shattered, but his collector's instinct remained.

From the broken remains of one of his display cases, Lawrence picked up a single, beautifully illustrated card the Ancient Mew card. He stared at it for a long moment, a small, wry smile forming on his lips.

"Well… perhaps it's time to restart my collection on a smaller, more manageable scale," he murmured to himself. "One legendary card at a time."

He tucked the Ancient Mew card carefully into his coat pocket and walked away from the wreckage, already planning his next modest pursuit.

Ash, still smiling from the System rewards, turned back to his girls, who were watching him with curious and loving expressions. The baby Lugia cooed softly in his arms as the group reunited on the shrine steps, the long ordeal finally over.

The Power of One had been fulfilled, and a new chapter in Ash's legendary journey had just begun.
