Chapter 274 - Chapter 274: The Stun Spore Incident

The lush, tropical island buzzed with life under the bright afternoon sun. Tall palm trees swayed gently in the sea breeze, colorful flowers bloomed everywhere, and the distant sound of waterfalls created a peaceful backdrop. After the chaotic but successful rescue on the previous island, Ash and his group had decided to take a short break on this beautiful paradise before continuing their journey.

Ash walked at the front of the group with his usual confident stride, Pikachu perched happily on his shoulder and Eevee trotting beside him. Misty stayed close on his right, her hand occasionally brushing against his. Sabrina walked gracefully on his left, her presence calm and soothing. Daisy and Giselle followed just behind, chatting lightly while keeping an eye on Togepi, who was bouncing excitedly in Daisy's arms.

"This place is gorgeous," Misty said, breathing in the fresh air. "I could stay here forever."

Sabrina smiled softly. "The natural energy here is very balanced. It feels restorative."

Daisy nodded, looking around with interest. "There are so many unique plants and Pokémon. I'd love to document some of them."

Giselle stayed close to Ash, her hand lightly resting on his back. "As long as we're together, I don't mind where we go."

Ash chuckled warmly, wrapping an arm around Misty and pulling Giselle closer with the other. "We've earned a little break. Let's enjoy it while we can."

Tracey, as usual, was several steps ahead, sketchbook in hand and eyes sparkling with excitement. "Look at those flower fields! And that waterfall in the distance! This island is a Watcher's paradise!"

The group spent the first few hours exploring together. They walked along flower-filled paths, watched wild Pokémon playing near crystal-clear streams, and enjoyed a peaceful picnic by a small waterfall. Ash and his harem shared many sweet, intimate moments — holding hands, stealing quick kisses when Tracey wasn't looking, and simply enjoying each other's company. Pikachu and Eevee chased each other playfully through the grass, while Togepi clapped happily from Daisy's arms.

Everything was going wonderfully until Tracey, ever the enthusiastic Watcher, spotted a particularly rare cluster of flowers near a sunny clearing.

"Whoa! That's a perfect specimen!" he exclaimed, rushing forward without looking carefully.

In his excitement, Tracey tripped over a hidden root and fell face-first directly onto the head opening of a large, sleeping Vileplume.

"Tracey!" Ash shouted immediately.

The Vileplume woke up with a startled cry and immediately reacted defensively. It unleashed a powerful, point-blank Stun Spore directly into Tracey's face.

"Uwaaahhh!" Tracey yelped, coughing and waving his hands wildly as the golden spores covered him. He struggled to get free, but his movements grew sluggish. His legs wobbled, and he collapsed onto the grass, completely paralyzed.

"Oh no!" Misty gasped, rushing forward with the others.

Ash moved quickly, using his Viridian power to gently push the Vileplume back a safe distance. "Easy there. We're not here to hurt you."

The Vileplume, realizing the group wasn't hostile, retreated into the flowers with an apologetic cry.

Ash knelt beside Tracey, who was now completely stiff and unable to move. "Tracey, can you hear me?"

"Ugh… I… can't… move…" Tracey managed to groan weakly, his face covered in sparkling Stun Spore particles.

Sabrina knelt on the other side, her eyes glowing faintly. "It's a strong dose. He'll be paralyzed for several hours without treatment."

Ash quickly pulled out his Pokédex and scanned the situation. The device beeped and displayed information on the screen.

"Stun Spore effects can be cured using Salveyo Weed, a rare aquatic plant that grows in clean freshwater streams," Ash read aloud. "We need to find some as soon as possible."

Misty looked worried. "We can't leave him like this. We should split up to search faster."

Ash nodded, taking charge naturally. "Good idea. We'll split into teams. Misty, you're with me. Sabrina and Daisy, you two search together. Giselle, would you mind staying here and taking care of Tracey?"

Giselle nodded without hesitation, her expression determined. "Of course. I'll look after him. Just be careful, all of you."

Ash gave her a grateful smile and a quick kiss on the forehead. "Thank you. We'll be back as soon as we can."

The groups split up efficiently. Ash and Misty headed toward a nearby stream they had seen earlier, holding hands as they moved through the forest. Sabrina and Daisy took the opposite direction, using Sabrina's psychic senses to search for the plant. Giselle stayed behind, gently wiping Tracey's face with a damp cloth and talking to him softly to keep him calm.

"Don't worry, Tracey," Giselle said kindly. "Ash and the others will find the Salveyo Weed soon. Just rest."

Tracey managed a weak smile. "Thanks… Giselle…"

Meanwhile, Ash and Misty moved quickly through the lush forest. The sunlight filtered through the canopy, creating beautiful patterns on the ground. Ash kept Misty close, his hand never leaving hers.

"You're really good at taking charge," Misty said with a soft smile. "It makes me feel safe."

Ash squeezed her hand. "I just want to protect all of you. Tracey's our friend. We'll get him cured."

They searched along the stream banks, turning over leaves and checking shallow pools. After some time, they found a small patch of Salveyo Weed growing near the water's edge.

"Found it!" Misty cheered, carefully harvesting several leaves.

Ash smiled. "Great work. Let's get back quickly."

On the other side, Sabrina and Daisy also had success, locating another small cluster using Sabrina's psychic detection.

Back at the clearing, Giselle had been taking excellent care of Tracey — keeping him comfortable, talking to him, and even using a gentle cooling cloth to ease his discomfort. When Ash and the others returned with the Salveyo Weed, everyone worked together to prepare the cure.

Ash crushed the leaves and mixed them with fresh water, creating a simple remedy. He gently helped Tracey drink it. Within minutes, the Stun Spore effects began to fade, and Tracey slowly regained movement.

"Thank you… everyone…" Tracey said gratefully, sitting up with a sheepish smile. "I really need to watch where I'm going next time."

The group laughed warmly, relieved that their friend was okay.

Ash patted Tracey's shoulder. "Just rest for now. We'll stay on this island a bit longer before continuing."

The girls gathered around Ash, proud of how well they had worked together. Misty leaned against him. "Another adventure, another rescue."

Sabrina smiled. "Our team is getting stronger every day."

Daisy nodded. "And more caring."

Giselle blushed but hugged Ash's arm. "I'm happy to be part of it."

As the sun began to set, the group settled down for a peaceful evening, the incident turning into another fond memory of their Orange Islands journey.

scene change :

On another side of the woods there was beautify mature girl with a dark pink hair looking at the horizon while having a dazzed look this is jessie of team rocket but jessie who felt proud calling herself as a member of team rocket now dispise that name.

Jessie wandered alone through a quiet, flower-filled clearing on the edge of the island, her usual confident stride replaced by slow, heavy steps. Tears streamed down her face without restraint, her shoulders shaking as raw, overwhelming emotions consumed her. She had been trying so hard to hold everything together, but the weight of her thoughts had finally become too much.

"Why… why does everything feel so wrong lately?" she whispered brokenly, wiping at her eyes with the back of her hand. "I'm so tired… so damn tired of all of this…"

Her voice cracked as fresh sobs escaped her. She sank down onto a large rock, burying her face in her hands. The strong, dramatic Jessie that everyone knew had completely crumbled, leaving behind a vulnerable woman overwhelmed by years of buried pain, frustration, and confusion. She cried harder than she had in a long time loud, ugly sobs that echoed through the trees.

She didn't notice the Venonat resting peacefully on a low branch above her.

Startled by the sudden noise, the Bug Pokémon fluttered its wings and released a thick cloud of golden Stun Spore in self-defense. The sparkling spores drifted down directly onto Jessie.

"Wha ?!" Jessie gasped as the spores engulfed her face and upper body. Her limbs immediately stiffened, her body going completely rigid. She tried to stand but collapsed onto the grass, paralyzed from head to toe.

"J-James… Meowth…" she managed to groan weakly, her voice barely audible.

James and Meowth, who had been following her at a distance out of worry, came running when they heard her cry.

"Jessie!" James shouted, panic clear in his voice as he dropped to his knees beside her.

Meowth's eyes widened in horror. "Jessie! What happened?!"

They saw the golden Stun Spore particles still sparkling on her skin and clothes. Jessie lay completely motionless, only her eyes showing her frustration and helplessness.

James gently lifted her head, cradling it in his lap. "Hang in there, Jessie. We're here. We've got you."

Meowth paced anxiously, tail lashing. "Dis is bad! She got hit bad with Stun Spore! We gotta fix her quick!"

James looked around desperately, checking their small bag of supplies. "Do we have any paralysis antidote left?"

Meowth shook his head, ears drooping. "We used da last one weeks ago. According to what I know, we need Salveyo Weed to make a proper cure. It grows in clean freshwater streams."

James swallowed hard, his usual dramatic flair gone, replaced by genuine concern for his longtime partner. "We can't leave her like this. She's been struggling so much lately… I've never seen her this down."

Meowth nodded, sitting beside Jessie and gently patting her arm. "Yeah… she's been different ever since we started dis Orange Islands mess. All quiet and moody. It ain't like her. She's our big sis… we gotta take care of her."

Jessie could hear every word, but she couldn't respond. Fresh tears slipped from the corners of her eyes as she lay paralyzed on the ground. James and Meowth's care treating her like family touched something deep inside her, making the emotional storm inside her even more intense.

James carefully lifted Jessie into his arms, carrying her toward a small, abandoned wooden shelter they had spotted earlier near the lake. Meowth helped clear the way, pushing aside branches and making sure the path was safe.

Once inside the dusty but dry shelter, James laid Jessie down gently on a clean blanket they spread out. He placed a cool, damp cloth on her forehead and brushed her magenta hair away from her face with surprising tenderness.

"Don't worry, Jessie," James said softly, holding her hand. "We'll find the Salveyo Weed. We'll make you better. You're not alone."

Meowth sat on her other side, looking unusually serious. "Dat's right, Jessie. We're family. We'll get through dis together. Just hang in dere."

Jessie's eyes softened slightly, a single tear rolling down her cheek. Even in her paralyzed state, their words brought her a small measure of comfort.

James stood up, determination replacing his worry. "Meowth, we need to move fast. You stay with her and keep her comfortable. I'll start searching the streams nearby."

Meowth nodded firmly. "I'll take care of her. You go find dat weed!"

James gave Jessie one last reassuring look before heading out into the forest. Meowth stayed behind, talking to Jessie gently to keep her spirits up, occasionally wiping her face with the cool cloth and making sure she was as comfortable as possible.

"We'll fix ya up real soon, Jessie," Meowth promised, his voice unusually kind. "You've always been dere for us. Now it's our turn to be dere for you."

Jessie closed her eyes, overwhelmed by emotions she couldn't express. The paralysis kept her body still, but her heart felt heavier than ever.

Meanwhile, James moved quickly through the trees, searching every stream and pond he could find for the rare Salveyo Weed. His usual clumsiness was replaced by focused determination his partner, his family, needed him.

The search was difficult, but he refused to give up.

Back in the shelter, Meowth continued talking to Jessie, sharing silly stories from their past to try and make her feel better. Even though she couldn't laugh or respond, the effort brought a faint spark of warmth to her eyes.

The Team Rocket trio dysfunctional as they were truly cared for each other like family. And right now, that bond was the only thing keeping Jessie from feeling completely lost.
