The ferry had long since departed, and the group was once again sailing across the vast, sparkling waters of the Orange Archipelago. Lapras glided gracefully through the gentle waves, her crystalline crown shimmering under the bright sun. Ash sat comfortably at the front, with Misty leaning against his right side, Sabrina on his left, and Daisy and Giselle nestled close behind him. The mood was relaxed and affectionate after the intense Gym battle on Trovita Island.
Ash had his arm wrapped around Misty's waist, occasionally pressing soft kisses to her temple, making her blush and playfully push him away. Sabrina rested her head on his shoulder, her fingers gently intertwined with his. Daisy hummed a cheerful tune while running her fingers through his hair, and Giselle still getting used to openly showing affection leaned against his back with a content smile, her arms loosely wrapped around him.
"You've been extra clingy today," Misty teased, though her own cheeks were pink as she snuggled closer.
Ash chuckled, his voice low and warm. "After that battle, I deserve some time with my girls. Besides, you all look beautiful with the sea breeze in your hair."
Sabrina smiled softly. "Flatterer."
Daisy laughed. "He knows exactly what to say, doesn't he?"
Giselle buried her face in his back, mumbling, "Idiot… making my heart race like this…"
The peaceful, lovey-dovey atmosphere was perfect. Lapras let out a melodic cry, clearly happy to carry her trainer and his loved ones.
Meanwhile, on Shiny Gyarados swimming powerfully beside them, Pikachu and Eevee were having their own fun. The two Pokémon balanced on the massive red serpent's back while Tracey sat cross-legged, his sketchbook open as he rapidly drew various sea Pokémon swimming around them schools of Magikarp, graceful Lapras in the distance, and even a few curious Remoraid hitching rides.
"These sketches are going to be amazing!" Tracey exclaimed, eyes sparkling. "The Orange Archipelago has such diverse marine life!"
Pikachu cheered, "Pika-pi!" while Eevee playfully batted at a passing bubble.
Ash glanced over and smiled. Everything felt right.
Their peaceful sail was interrupted when a sleek, high-speed sailboat cut through the water toward them. A young trainer with determined eyes stood at the helm, waving enthusiastically.
"Hey! Are you Ash Ketchum?!" the trainer called out. "I'm Tad! I heard you already defeated three Orange Crew Gym Leaders! I've been looking for a strong opponent!"
Ash raised an eyebrow, intrigued. Before he could respond, the familiar System notification rang in his mind.
[Ding!]
New Mission: Defeat Tad using your newly captured Shiny Frigibax against his Poliwrath.
Reward: Icium Z Crystal
Ash mentally accepted the mission with a grin. "Alright, Tad. Follow us to that island over there," he said, pointing toward a beautiful nearby island. "We'll have our battle on solid ground."
Tracey squinted. "That's Cleopatra Island! Perfect spot for a battle!"
The boat and the two pokemon headed toward the island. Once they landed on the sunny beach, Tracey volunteered to be the referee.
The battle was set as a one-on-one match.
Tad grinned confidently and released his Pokémon. "Go, Poliwrath!"
A powerful Poliwrath appeared, flexing its muscular arms. It proudly wore a golden championship belt around its waist a trophy from Tad's hometown for being the strongest Pokémon there.
Ash smiled. "Shiny Frigibax, let's do this."
The majestic Shiny Frigibax emerged in a flash of icy light, its crystalline scales gleaming under the sun. Tad's eyes widened in amazement.
"Whoa… What kind of Pokémon is that?!" Tad exclaimed. "I've never seen anything like it!"
Ash replied calmly, "It's a Dragon-type. And it's going to give you a good fight."
Battle Start!
Poliwrath opened aggressively with a powerful Water Gun, followed by Dynamic Punch. Shiny Frigibax dodged gracefully, its icy aura leaving trails of frost in the air. Ash commanded calmly, "Icy Wind into Dragon Rush!"
Frigibax unleashed a chilling Icy Wind that slowed Poliwrath down, then charged forward with a powerful Dragon Rush, slamming into the Fighting/Water-type and sending it skidding across the sand.
Tad was surprised but fought back fiercely. "Poliwrath, use Hypnosis!"
Poliwrath tried to put Frigibax to sleep, but the Shiny Dragon-type shook it off with sheer willpower and retaliated with a freezing Ice Shard barrage.
The battle was intense and back-and-forth. Poliwrath used its championship experience and raw power, landing heavy hits with Body Slam and Submission. But Frigibax's speed, icy control, and Dragon-type moves gave it the edge. Ash's commands were precise and confident, guiding Frigibax through every exchange.
After a long, hard-fought battle filled with spectacular clashes ice crystals sparkling in the air, powerful punches shaking the ground, and dragon energy roaring Frigibax landed a decisive Dragon Pulse that knocked Poliwrath out.
Tad recalled his Pokémon with a respectful nod. "You're really strong, Ash. I need more training if I want to beat you one day."
The two trainers shook hands.
The girls went and started to give kisses while cheering their man for the victory with a loving faces.
Misty exclaimed. " That's my hubby."
Daisy smiled. "Another victory for our Ash."
Giselle blushed. "You really know how to make a statement."
Sabrina simply smiled softly.
Ash suggested with a grin, "Why don't we camp here on Cleopatra Island tonight? It looks like a nice spot."
Everyone agreed. While Ash and Tracey set up the tents, the girls went down to the beach to wash their feet and play in the shallow water. Togepi chased after Pikachu and Eevee playfully, the three Pokémon having a wonderful time running around the sand.
Laughter filled the air as the sun began to set, painting the sky in beautiful colors.
After the tents were ready and dinner was eaten, the group relaxed around a small campfire. Misty and Giselle, still energized from the day, decided to have a light one-on-one battle with their newly caught Pokémon from the poacher incident.
"Swampert, let's go!" Misty called, releasing her powerful Swampert.
Giselle smiled confidently. "Salamence, come out!"
Giselle's Salamence roared proudly as it appeared.
The battle was light-hearted and fun, more for practice than serious competition. Swampert used powerful Ground and Water moves like Mud Shot and Hydro Pump, while Salamence responded with Dragon Breath and Wing Attack. The two Pokémon clashed energetically on the beach, but neither went all out.
After several exciting exchanges, both Pokémon were breathing heavily but smiling. Misty and Giselle called the battle a draw.
"That was fun!" Misty laughed. "Your Salamence is really strong, Giselle."
Giselle smiled warmly. "Your Swampert too. We should do this more often."
The girls high-fived while Ash watched them with a proud smile. The rest of the evening was spent with laughter, stories, and cozy moments around the campfire.
As the stars filled the sky above Cleopatra Island, Ash felt truly content with his growing family both human and Pokémon.
The Orange Islands adventure continued.
It was a perfect end to another successful day in the Orange Islands.
