As Lapras and Shiny Gyarados glided smoothly across the sparkling sea, dark clouds suddenly began gathering on the horizon near Mandarin Island. Without any warning, a powerful storm rolled in. Heavy rain poured down mercilessly, soaking the entire group within minutes.
"We need to find shelter!" Ash shouted over the roaring thunder and crashing waves.
They managed to reach the rugged coastline of Mandarin Island and started trekking inland through the rocky, uneven terrain. Everyone was tired, hungry, and completely drenched. Lightning cracked violently across the sky while thunder boomed like cannon fire.
Suddenly, Misty pointed toward the sky. "Look up there! What's that?!"
A large swarm of Magnemite was circling high above, deliberately positioning themselves to be struck by lightning bolts. Every time lightning hit them, the Magnet Pokémon glowed with intense light as they absorbed the raw electrical energy.
"That's incredible…" Tracey whispered in awe, his eyes wide.
Not far away, a sleek and agile Jolteon was skillfully herding the Magnemite, guiding them into perfect positions like an expert sheepdog. The Electric-type moved with incredible precision and speed.
Just then, a large wooden wagon pulled by two powerful Tauros rolled up the path. A middle-aged man with a rugged beard and kind eyes waved at them from the driver's seat.
"You kids look like drowned Ratatta! Hop in the back it's much safer than standing out here in this lightning storm!"
Grateful for the offer, Ash and the gang quickly climbed into the covered wagon. The man introduced himself as Ethan, a Magnemite rancher who made his living harvesting electricity from storms.
Once the storm began to calm, Ethan explained his unique profession in detail. "I take my herd of Magnemite into thunderstorms so they can safely absorb electricity. Afterward, I deliver that stored power to towns and cities across the island that need it. It's much cleaner and more reliable than traditional generators."
Tracey was completely fascinated. "They're so well-trained! How do you manage such a large herd?"
Ethan chuckled warmly. "I call them by numbers instead of names. It makes managing them easier. Jolteon here acts as my herder and keeps them in line."
The Magnemite seemed especially curious about Pikachu. Several of them floated too close and almost swallowed the yellow mouse whole. Ash quickly pulled Pikachu to safety but ended up getting lightly shocked himself, causing the entire group to burst into laughter.
As evening approached, Ash offered to take the reins of the Tauros wagon to give Ethan a break. His first few attempts were shaky he nearly crashed into a large boulder once but he quickly got the hang of it and guided the wagon steadily.
Later that night, during another intense thunderstorm, they all watched in silent amazement as the Magnemite absorbed bolt after bolt of lightning, their bodies glowing brighter with every strike.
The next morning, while the group was resting near the wagon, Ethan received an urgent phone call from Officer Jenny in the nearby town.
"We're in the middle of a major blackout! The entire town has lost power. The Pokémon Center is running on emergency backup, but even that is failing fast. We desperately need electricity!"
The call was suddenly interrupted by Nurse Joy's panicked voice. "The Magnemite we use for backup have completely run out of charge! We can't hold on much longer"
The line went dead.
At that exact moment, Ethan's entire herd of Magnemite began flying away rapidly toward the town, with Jolteon instinctively chasing after them.
Ethan's expression turned serious. "They're responding to the power crisis on their own. We need to follow them immediately!"
The group rushed after the flying herd. However, danger was already waiting for them.
From the top of a rocky ridge, a tall man in a dark coat watched the scene through binoculars with cold, calculating eyes. His name was Victor "Volt" Harlan a ruthless electricity magnate who controlled a shady energy empire across the Orange Islands.
"Perfect…" Harlan smirked cruelly. "A whole herd of fully charged Magnemite ready for harvest. With them, I can triple my production and crush every small competitor on these islands."
He turned to his two burly henchmen. "Prepare the Magnetic Harvesters. I don't care if a few Magnemite get damaged in the process. Bring me the strongest ones… especially that strange-looking Number 6."
Harlan didn't see Pokémon as living creatures. To him, they were nothing more than walking batteries to be exploited and drained dry.
When Ash and the others finally caught up with the herd, Harlan and his men launched their brutal attack.
A massive mechanical arm equipped with powerful electromagnetic grippers descended from a hidden truck. Several Magnemite were instantly captured and pulled toward the machine, their stored electricity being forcibly drained.
Jolteon tried to fight back fiercely, but Harlan's henchmen released a heavily modified Manectric and a brutal Electrode that attacked without any mercy.
"These Magnemite belong to me now!" Harlan declared from atop the ridge, his voice cold and arrogant. "Ethan, your outdated little ranch is finished. In this world, Pokémon are nothing but tools for progress."
Ethan clenched his fists in anger. "You're hurting them! They're not machines!"
Ash stepped forward, his eyes narrowed dangerously. "Let the Magnemite go. Now."
Harlan laughed mockingly. "And who are you, kid? Another naïve dreamer who thinks Pokémon are friends? How pathetic."
The battle exploded into chaos.
"Pikachu and Eeeve, go!" Ash shouted.
Misty immediately joined the fight. "You're not doing this alone! Pikachu, help them out!" Her female Pikachu leaped forward with determination, cheeks sparking.
Sabrina's violet eyes glowed. "Espeon, provide Psychic support and protect the Magnemite!"
Daisy called out confidently, "Vileplume, use your pollen to disrupt their machines!"
Giselle, fully committed and no longer holding back, released her powerful Salamence. "Salamence, protect the Magnemite and destroy those horrible machines!"
The battlefield became a coordinated storm of power. Ash's Pikachu and Misty's Pikachu worked in perfect sync, launching powerful Thunderbolts. Ash's eevee casually changing his forms and beating the opponents like it was nothing,Sabrina's Espeon used precise Psychic waves to deflect attacks and shield the struggling Magnemite. Daisy's Vileplume spread thick clouds of Stun Spore and Sweet Scent, disorienting Harlan's Manectric and Electrode. Giselle's Salamence roared loudly as it used Dragon Breath and powerful Wing Attacks to smash the mechanical harvesters apart.
Despite the girls' strong efforts, Harlan's forces fought brutally (Aka deidara treatment). The modified Manectric unleashed devastating Thunderbolts while the Electrode threatened Self-Destruct to intimidate everyone.
In the middle of the chaos, the strange-looking Magnemite known as Number 6 was cornered and about to be captured. Ash's Pikachu leaped forward desperately to protect it. Seeing its friend in grave danger, Number 6 suddenly flew straight into the colliding magnetic and electrical blasts.
A brilliant, blinding flash of light erupted.
Number 6 absorbed an overwhelming surge of electricity from the storm, the harvesters, and Pikachu's attack. Its body began to glow and transform. When the light finally faded, it had evolved into a powerful Magneton.
The newly evolved Magneton immediately used its superior magnetic control to free all the trapped Magnemite. The rest of the herd then gathered around both Pikachu, Eevee(transformed into jolteon) and restored their strength by sharing their stored electricity.
Harlan's face twisted with pure rage. "You insignificant brats… You dare ruin my harvest?!"
He ordered a full lethal assault. But Ash stood his ground, eyes burning with determination.
"Everyone! Combine your power!"
Pikachu (both Ash's and Misty's),Eevee(Jolteon), Magneton, Espeon, Vileplume, and Salamence unleashed a massive synchronized attack. The overwhelming combination of electricity, psychic energy, and dragon power caused Harlan's machines to overload and explode violently in a shower of sparks and debris.
Harlan and his henchmen were thrown backward. The tycoon clutched his injured arm, glaring at Ash and the group with pure hatred.
"This isn't over, boy…" he snarled before retreating hastily as Officer Jenny's sirens echoed in the distance.
Officer Jenny soon arrived with backup and, after hearing the full story and seeing the damaged Magnemite, immediately issued an arrest warrant for Victor Harlan for illegal Pokémon exploitation and extreme cruelty.
Despite his injured arm, Ethan was determined to complete his duty. Ash stepped up and volunteered to lead the Magnemite to the town himself.
Using Ethan's special whistle and careful guidance, Ash led nine Magnemite including the powerful new Magneton toward the town with the Tauros wagon. When some Magnemite started scattering, both Pikachu and eevee worked together to herd them back with controlled Thunderbolts. Ash personally went searching and rescued Number 6 when it drifted dangerously close to a stream.
By sunset, they successfully reached the town. The Magnemite released their stored electricity into the power grid, restoring lights across the entire area. Loud cheers and applause erupted from the grateful citizens and relieved Nurse Joy.
At the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny thanked the entire group especially Ash and the girls profusely for their heroic efforts.
As they finally sat down to rest, a familiar mechanical voice rang clearly in Ash's mind.
