Chapter 12
Dashing through the forest in an attempt to escape from those that had appeared after the fight Sin kept on changing directions as he headed up the mountain trying hard to get away. After a while of running Sin couldn't sense anything so he decided to slow down his pace as he still had a long way to go.
One hour later Sin noticed something as he then hurriedly stopped running and immediately dropped Liam to the ground. Looking at his other hand that held the sword he could see ice that was slowly covering his hand, the ice hand already passed his elbow.
Feeling a stinging pain in his body and sensing danger in his mind he threw away the sword with all the strength he could muster, the sword flew at an incredible speed as went threw the air and eventually was stopped by a giant tree that stood in its path.
Looking over to where he threw the sword, he could now see it stuck in a tree, looking down he still felt pain as the ice was still growing even though he got rid of the sword. Looking at the ice he remembered something he saw earlier and that was the bull that had also suffered from the ice.
"Did I accidentally scratch myself when I grabbed the sword" Sin thought he soon shook his head though as he would have felt something, "what the hell is this" said Sin as he started getting worried as he could feel his hand getting numb.
Deciding not to panic Sin started use numerous things in an attempt to melt the ice, he tried using his source energy, making a fire in an attempt to melt it, he even tried using force as he punched the ice with his other hand and even slammed it against boulders and trees to no avail.
Now Sin started to panic he had tried everything he knew and his hand was still frozen, in fact the ice had spread even more and was now up to his shoulder and even spreading to his chest and neck. Breathing out Sin could see his breath coming out as he sat down in front of a tree feeling cold as he could be seen trembling.
"To hell with this I refuse to have my life end like this" shouted Sin as he got up off the ground and stared at Liam who laid on the ground unconscious. Sin had regrated saving the kid's life as it had caused him pain and suffering, right now though Sin was ready to ask the kid for help and if that failed he was ready to cut off his hand. He was ready to lose his hand if it meant he could keep his life.
While Sin approached the boy, he could see him starting to wake up, Sin then flew into the sky as he hid himself in the trees. He decided to wait and see how the kid would react to the whole situation before doing anything, soon Liam called back his sword and even put it in his spatial ring. Immediately after that Sin moved through the trees as he rushed down to the ground, as he landed, he could see that Liam was trying to summon his sword back so Sin attacked.
Now holding Liam off the ground by his neck Sin had decided to squeeze Liam's neck until his head popped so he could take the sword for himself and undo the curse that befell him. "Wait that's not how it works, killing me won't make the sword listen to you as it is directly linked to the blood line of the Heartstone, and will not listen to anyone else if anything you'll die from the ice poison that it will place upon you for trying to wield it" said Liam hurriedly.
Loosening his grip Sin then showed Liam his other hand and said, "Can you get rid of this then". Finally, being able to breath Liam looked down to see Sin's hand which was covered in ice, "quickly let go of me before it spreads to your heart". "To my heart what will happen then" asked Sin
"If it reaches your heart even if God descended and tried to save you would still die" Liam responded. Hearing Liam's last words Sin let go and said, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!"
Said Sin as he released his grip and Liam fell on the ground and rubbed his neck. He quickly got up off the ground and summoned Crisis from his skull shaped spacial artifact. He then held Sin's shoulder with his other hand, and the two holes in the skull of the blades pommel and the blue line that ran through the blade began to glow in a light blue colour. While holding onto Sin Liam's eyes began to glow as well, and soon the ice that covered Sin's body started melting as it was being absorbed by Liam.
With all the ice absorbed Liam's eyes slowly stopped glowing. Liam sighed in relief as he then stored his sword back into his spacial artifact. "Now that's out of the way what's the plan" asked Liam. Looking back at Liam Sin wondered if he should just kill him after he had caused him to suffer even after he saved him, shaking his head Sin cleared his head and said "that's a stupid question there is only one thing we can do" while saying all that Sin looked on straight into the distance to the top of the mountain. Looking at where Sin had been staring at Liam understood Sin's thoughts.
Not too long after they made there way to the top of the mount, while heading there they encountered several beasts which they either killed swiftly or just sneaked passed, not wanting to waste too much time as to day was the last day for them to get to the top if they wanted to pass. [Kaaa] a loud bird cry was herd quickly approaching them, Looking up they could see what seemed to be a giant eagle diving with its talons ready to pierce into them.
Reacting quickly Liam summoned his weapon as he jumped away from what seemed to be its trajectory. Getting to a safe distance Liam noticed how Sin had not moved and the eagle was right above him. " Sin!!!!!!" Liam shouted to Sin as he saw the the bird land to the ground...
Sin had saw Liam moving away and had choose to not move instead he had pulled out his to duel sabers from his sides. "Now" thought Sin as he infused his source into his blades and called out "Wind slash" as he sliced at the ground raising up a cloud of dust, unable to see the bird had missed Sin.
Walking through the dust the bird was searching for its prey when it felt something on its back. [swish] two blades pierced into its back, with a loud scream the bird then took off to the sky in fear. While ascending at high speed the bird felt something on its back
back, KAAAA the bird wailed as two blades were stabbed into its back. Blood spraying Sin's face he licked his lips and pulled out one of his sabers with an intention to stab the bird again, just then though the bird flew upside down and even started spinning in mid-air.
Caught off guard Sin was thrown off the bird's back leaving one of his sabers stuck it the bird's back, looking down Sin wander if he could survive a fall from that high up in the sky. Soon though he could hear the cries of the bird coming back seemingly wanting to kill Sin.
Smiling viciously Sin held the saber he was still holding in his hand in front of him as he begun to launch a barrage of wind slashes with his dual sabers sword art, [ Wind slash] moving around the bird evaded all the attacks easily, "I really can't do much in the sky", thought Sin as looked down to see just far from the ground he was. Immediately the bird burst out with an insane speed it hadn't displayed before while Sin was looking down.
"Damn" thought Sin as he quickly changed plans, he condensed his energy and cut it all out which cause huge explosion of sorts moving him away from the bird's line of attack. Missing Sin the bird continued to circle around looking for another opportunity to attack, frowning Sin begin to emit a small aura around him which was moving around violently because of the wind, "ill kill you, you stupid bird" soon after Sin started condensing his aura into small bits using it to propel him around in the air.
Moving from side-to-side Sin with his cold and focused eyes quickly approached the bird which was still flying around, it looked like he had analyzed the birds flight patterns and predicted where it would be. He then activated the Nine nether skill as his skin turned a slight tint of red and his veins bulged, along with the aura that he was emitting unknowingly his strength had tripled…..
