Chapter 336 - Apollo!?
Seeing Mahiro draw Hyorinmaru, the tavern's atmosphere ignited once more.
Fistfights were one thing, but weapons signaled a serious clash between adventurers.
A rookie facing off against a veteran Familia captain promised a thrilling spectacle.
Unlike Mahiro's earlier instant takedowns, the crowd craved a drawn-out duel, though most believed the outcome was sealed.
"Didn't expect you to have some tricks," Hyakinthos said, his eyes flashing with disdain as he noted Hyorinmaru.
"But don't think a fancy weapon bridges the level gap."
The sword's sudden appearance and high-tier aura caught him off guard, but he stood firm, his pride unshaken.
"You harmed my members—an unforgivable sin," Hyakinthos declared, his gaze haughty, a playful glint laced with inexplicable resentment, as if jealous of Mahiro.
"Two choices: I beat you senseless here, or you follow me to Lord Apollo and beg forgiveness. Sincere remorse will earn his mercy."
His eyes shone with fervent adoration for Apollo, tinged with hostility toward Mahiro.
"Is Mahiro being targeted by that creep Apollo too?"
Hestia muttered, her face twisting in disgust.
As a goddess, her keen insight picked up on Hyakinthos' motives. Even the earlier provocation seemed calculated.
"Mahiro's charm is unreal," Syr said, her lips pursed in surprise.
"Your priorities are off!" Hestia snapped, glaring at Syr.
"I can handle goddesses, even Freya's nonsense, but Apollo's perversion is a hard no!"
Syr's expression flickered oddly at the mention of Freya.
"Why not get Mia to stop this?" Syr suggested.
"What can she do?" Hestia said, exasperated. She doubted a tavern owner could halt an adventurer brawl.
"Let's trust Mahiro. A Level 3's no problem for him," Hestia said, shaking her head confidently.
"My patience is thin," Hyakinthos said, stepping forward with a smug grin. "No answer? Then you've chosen the first option."
Mahiro didn't reply.
Using shunpo, he appeared before Hyakinthos, whose eyes shrank as he reached for his sword.
Too late. Hyorinmaru sliced through the air, a chilling gust pressing against Hyakinthos' neck.
A sharp sting followed as the sword grazed his skin, drawing a thin line of blood.
Hyakinthos froze, hands on his hilt, not daring to move, fearing Mahiro might defy Guild rules and slit his throat.
Mahiro scanned the tavern, his expression unreadable.
"You're lucky this is a tavern," he said coldly, eyeing Hyakinthos like prey.
"Anywhere else, I'd have killed you."
Guild rules forbade adventurers from killing each other.
Mahiro had no desire to slaughter Apollo's men outright, especially not here, out of respect for Mia and her staff.
Hyakinthos exhaled, about to speak. "You—"
A heavy blow cut him off.
With a dull thud, Hyakinthos hurtled backward, soaring over the crowd and out onto the street, landing beside the pallum adventurer.
After a few twitches, he went still, unconscious.
"No way…"
"Hyakinthos, taken down?"
"That's a Level 3 adventurer!"
"Good thing we didn't bet!"
The crowd gaped, stunned by Hyakinthos' defeat.
Shock and elation mingled, but none had expected a rookie to crush a Level 3 veteran so decisively.
Hyakinthos was a notable figure to onlookers, yet this Level 2 had obliterated him in seconds, shattering their assumptions about adventurer rankings.
"This kid's too strong," an adventurer whispered, awe replacing skepticism.
"What's going on here? I step out for a minute, and it's chaos!" Mia's voice boomed as she emerged from the storeroom, shouldering bags of flour, her glare sweeping the room.
"Some troublemakers started a fight. I handled it," Mahiro said calmly.
