Chapter 317 - Asking Serafall

Chapter 317 - Asking Serafall

With the successive deaths of the Old Satan Faction leaders, the faction's mages collapsed.

Save for a few who fled early, the rest were swiftly eliminated.

The barrier around Kuoh Academy ensured ordinary people remained unaware of the chaos. Even if noticed, magic could erase their memories.

Post-battle, Kuoh Academy was in ruins, with only a few buildings intact. The battlefields of Mahiro, Azazel, and others, all above Satan-Class, were reduced to rubble.

Once the fighting ended and the battlefield was cleared, restoration began. The combined efforts of the Three Factions quickly restored Kuoh Academy to its original state.

Sirzechs and the others' meeting, interrupted mid-session, resumed in the conference room. The focus shifted to addressing the Khaos Brigade, led by Ophis.

Any organization tied to Ophis demanded serious attention from every pantheon.

As the Infinite Dragon God and the world's unchallenged strongest, Ophis' power dwarfed even the second-ranked.

The top ten powerhouses combined couldn't defeat her. Alone, she could rival entire pantheons.

Historically, Ophis wandered solo, uninvolved in divine affairs, so pantheons left her be.

Now, leading a terrorist group like the Khaos Brigade, she threatened global stability.

After deliberating on countering the Khaos Brigade, the tripartite meeting concluded.

"Is there something important you needed?" Serafall asked Mahiro, her expression composed, carrying the dignified grace of a satan.

"It's about last Friday," Mahiro said, a subtle smile playing on his lips.

"Last Friday?" Serafall's composure faltered, her voice rising slightly.

Her poised smile stiffened, though she tried to maintain her calm.

"Yes," Mahiro said, observing her reaction with amusement.

Serafall had slapped him that night, then cleaned up and fled, clearly intending to dodge responsibility.

"I drank too much that night and don't recall much," Mahiro said cautiously. "I didn't cause you any trouble, did I?"

"No, no," Serafall said quickly, shaking her head.

"Really?" Mahiro asked, feigning doubt. "My memory's fuzzy, but I woke up in the guest room. Sona said she was asleep, so it must've been you who helped me there."

"Uh, yes, I took you to the guest room," Serafall said, forcing a smile. "But then I returned to the Underworld."

"Oh," Mahiro said, exhaling as if relieved. "I was worried I'd done something rude. I have this vague memory of something improper, but it must've been a dream."

Serafall's smile froze, her heart racing as she scrutinized Mahiro's expression.

"Mahiro-chan, at your age, high school boys have all sorts of dreams," she said, her sly tone masking her panic.

"I didn't say what I dreamed about, did I?" Mahiro countered, raising an eyebrow.

Serafall faltered, then laughed awkwardly. "No need to guess, right?"

"Is there anything else?" she asked, eager to escape. Her drunken lapse—falling asleep with the boy her sister liked—was mortifying, and Mahiro's probing made it worse.

She needed to leave before he pieced it together.

"Just wanted to thank you for looking after me that day," Mahiro said, his smile gentle but knowing.

"I've got urgent matters in the Underworld to handle," Serafall said, guilt propelling her to activate teleportation magic.

"Is there magic to project dreams? I'll ask Rias later," Mahiro muttered as Serafall's teleportation magic took hold.

He caught a faint exclamation from her before she vanished.

Mahiro chuckled.

He had no intention of letting Serafall off easily—not after she'd taken advantage of him. At the very least, he'd get even.

Under an empty night sky, three figures waited in the darkness.

"Bikou's been gone forever. Where is he?nyaa!" a voice complained, sultry and seductive, stirring the listener's imagination with visions of a captivating hostess.

Kuroka, Koneko's older sister, lounged on a tree branch in a black kimono.

The garment's shoulders and thighs were daringly open, revealing smooth, pale skin that invited wandering eyes. Her cat ears twitched atop her head.

"Too slow. Weren't we heading to the norse pantheon? We're running out of time," a petite girl in a wizard hat said, her nose wrinkling as she glared at Kuroka's brazen display. Her own figure paled in comparison to Kuroka's mature curves.

Le Fay Pendragon, a descendant of King Arthur and member of Vali's team, stood with her arms crossed.

"He'll be back soon. With Vali's strength and Bikou covering him, the Three Factions couldn't hold them," a man in a black tuxedo said, his demeanor polished and gentlemanly.

Arthur Pendragon, Le Fay's older brother and another descendant of King Arthur, carried the legendary name with pride.

But then...

Bikou emerged from a spatial passage, cradling Vali, who lay motionless, his life hanging by a thread—their team's captain and strongest member, now barely clinging to survival.
