Chapter 5 - Episode: 2 [The Queer World]

"This is my house."

As we entered the dingy house, things were strewn everywhere. Bentend hurriedly shut the door. "You sure you can endure it?"

I looked around; scraps of glass were here and there. Torn parts of boxes hung on the ceiling fans. The rubbish bin brimmed with trash; I dart a glance at Bentend.

"Not worse, but not good either."

It was still a house where you could live. Only cleaning was needed. In the living hall, there was a pile of square boxes on the table.

I didn't wait to know everything about the house.

From his pocket his phone rang; he took it out and suddenly ran towards another room. I strolled behind.

On his computer, he pressed several buttons on the keyboard, and the blazing and colorful screen changed every time.

"D*mn these people." He slammed his hand on the table. Furling the fingers into a fist, he patted the table again. He read something on the screen again. I got closer and saw him biting his lips. I sensed it, his emotion elevating, his anger bursting like a star.

I placed my hand on his shoulder, absorbing all of it. His emotions dwindled; a ray of vermilion-colored threads slithered through my arm and dispersed within my body.

The pain in my head had disappeared.

Seeing his face lit up, I asked, "What is this about?"

"My sentry examination report."

"You have those sentry powers too?" I looked at him, but there was nothing different about him; he seemed to me just another ordinary human.

"Kind of. From the score report, I'm barely a bodily sentry, the lowest of them. Slightly higher than ordinary."

Life couldn't get more miserable for this fool. Not that it mattered to me.

"Can you show me those Intiverse?" I asked him; there was vague hope in my heart that my master perhaps could be among them.

I might make no sense, but in my desperate desire to find him, I cared for nothing.

"Sure." Bentend pressed several buttons, and something new popped in; he entered numbers in them as the information about humans appeared. Several pictures were taken of their backs, front, and sides as if they were criminals.

"Hulkin White, It's currently the best of the Intiverse. He's estimated to be country tier."

There were these tiers to determine their power; there was nothing less impressive about each well-maintained piece of information.

He showed me many more; some were human-like intiverse while some were monsters with animal-like heads or bodies.

But what caught my eye was the last on the list, "Show me the image of his back."

There was a mark of a three-headed dragon on the nape of this person; he was only a boy, age near twenty or ninety. That mark, it was the same as my master had.

"Who's he?" I asked.

"Oh, him? Well, he's called the powerless solo leveler. To be exact, he's the only non-Intiverse that has achieved the power of the Intiverse via imaginary sentry; his growth stopped shortly after a few days, since this sort of replication was impossible. He was then given the official title of Powerless Intiverse or weakest solo leveler."

"I need information about his whereabouts. We are going to meet him." I wanted to know how he got that mark there.

Bentend retorted, "Are you serious? It's impossible to reach out to them; regardless of him being the weakest of the Intiverse, the government doesn't permit meeting them."

I looked and glared at the screen, ruminating. If such is the case, better we find a solution.

Bentend suggested, "We don't have to take a hasty action; rather, why don't we think this out more thoroughly?"

He was right; there was always the possibility of finding ideal ways. I couldn't just jump to the conclusion of attacking and killing the so-called government of this country.

Bentend rubbed his chin; he looked at the information more closely.

Before he could get an idea in his head, I sensed danger in the nearby distance. I clutched my sword tightly and peered out of the window; there was nothing outside. The aura that I sensed faded soon. Did I imagine it? No, probably not.

His phone rang again; this time when he checked, Bentend's face turned pale.

"A warp (the bent space) has just appeared above our house. It is said to break within an hour; if so, monsters will burst out of it."

I checked out through the window and confirmed there was actually a giant misshapen crack in the sky.

"Then we should leave this house and better head somewhere else. Don't try to join in," I could tell he was thinking of fighting off those monsters. "You're not eligible for it."

"But I should enter the warp."

"It's the sentry's job; better you stay away from it."

"I don't trust them; besides, I want to confirm something with my own eyes. Maybe it might be of your help."

I could have let it slide and stopped him, but something clicked in my mind. My curiosity flared inside to test it out; more than a sentry, I wanted to know about these monsters as well, the connections, and what exactly is going on in this place and why my master sent me here.

"We should move first."
