Yohana took a panicked step backward at the sight of the snarls and fur, then turned on her heel to run.
Hearing their low, menacing growls echoing right behind her, she bolted toward the hotel entrance, a sudden dread washing over her as she realized the sprawling gardens were completely deserted. Where had all the security and hotel staff disappeared to so suddenly?
"Help! Help!" Yohana screamed at the top of her lungs, her voice echoing uselessly into the night air.
But her wolfless speed was no match for the predators. Before she could reach the patio doors, the sharp claws of one wolf lashed out, tearing through the fabric of her midnight dress from behind and slicing into her skin.
"Ahhh!" Yohana yelped in sharp pain, losing her footing and crashing heavily onto the ground. She turned around swiftly, her back already bleeding when the second wolf attacked her.
