I spent the entire day away from home, though I talked to my mother. She was annoyed, but at my sisters, not me.
Amie and Mimi called and asked if they could join me.
We were in the Moira town center. It was nice enough, but the lack of investment was clearly visible. No big name brands or giant corporations, just some franchises and mostly local-owned businesses. In the days passed, the two girls had become very close. I was glad to see them smile more.
"Your mother told us you were pouting," said Amie candidly.
"What the actual..." I stopped when I met their smiles. "Yeah, okay."
I guess pouting was a good enough word.
"What do you want to buy? It's on me." I said, trying my best to change topics.
Mimi tried to refuse. "No need for—"
"Nonsense. I'm buying things as well. We are heading towards the most hostile places on this planet, not to mention cold. By the way, if you like, we are taking our own plane. Want to come?" I asked Amie.
