Chapter 23 - Lighting God vs Scarlet Dragon part 1

"Luna? You came back." Trey says as he notices her stepping through the portal. "And you brought a friend with you."

"This is Raze. He's here to help us get Raven back." Raze raises his hand slightly to acknowledge Luna is talking g about him.

"Raven? We need to think about our own survival first. My job is to protect everyone here. Just like I always have." Trey gestures to everyone around him.

The mood of all the camp is grim. They're free now, but at what cost? At least they had a decent supply of food and shelter before the city was destroyed.

Luna knew Trey was right. Most of the wolves here aren't fighters. It just meant that the only help she would get is from Raze.

"I'm coming with." Farkas says as he steps closer to Luna and Raze. "Trey can handle everything here while to take the fight to the Zandarians."

"I had a feeling that you'd help me." Luna says while giving him a warm smile.

She knew Farkus would help. Raven meant a lot to him. Trey would be fine without them. In fact, she trusted him more than herself to lead everyone here. He has far more experience after all.

In the end, she felt it was better to go after Raven with a small team. It would mean they could be more stealthy. They didn't have the man power to overwhelm their enemy.

Farkus looks over his shoulder to find the wolf helmet was talking to moments ago. In fact, he was nowhere to he found no matter how hard he looked.

He couldn't shake the feeling of dread. Something about that wolf scared him to his core. He couldn't sense it at the time, but his body was now telling him that he could have died.

"Before we go. I need the two of you to do something." Raze's words makes Farkus pay attention to him.

Raze reaches into his pocket and pulls out two red crystals. "Absorbing these will drastically increase your magic reserves, and possibly increase it to the next level."

"The next level?" Luna asks. The thought of growing stronger excits her. He has to physically restrain herself from showing too much excitement.

"The barrier containing your magic stretches thin as it grows outward. Eventually, it condenses and becomes thicker. This happens at every level. When this happens, your magic control increases along with how much magic you can output at once." Raze explains using hand geastures. "This will take a significant toll on the body, and even greater on the barrier when absorbing these crystals. You have to be careful so not to shatter barrier. Otherwise you'll die."

....

At the same time, back where Skoll took Luna and had a run in with Fala. Fala was devising a plan of her own, but not to help Luna.

Her footsteps clacked on the marble floor as she walked down a hall towards a large set of doors.

Before she could reach it though, a large lightning bolt shoots right past her and creates a large gap in the wall as it strikes.

Fala stares at the damage the attack made for a second. The buildings walls are infused with inscriptions to make them withstand almost anything.

Yet a single attack from highest ranked wolf knight went through it with ease.

"What do you think you're doing?" A werewolf wearing a black wolf helmet with the number one etched on asks.

His menacing gaze striking fear into Fala. His sharp eyes telling her that he is ready to kill her at any moment.

"Havoc? I didn't see you there. What a pleasant surprise." Fala does her best to put on a smile.

"Cut the shit." The electricity now surrounding Havoc's body as his anger increases. "No one is allowed near this door without his permission."

Fala lets out a soft chuckle. Normally she wouldn't dare anger or pick a fight with someone stronger than herself, that's because she didn't have any ace up her sleeve until now.

A thunderous shockwave explodes out from Havoc as his entire body becomes engulfed in shimmering blue lighting.

Every few moments, rouge lighting strikes hit the walls and floors causing a deep gash in the marble.

The air becomes heavy as the magic emitted from his body condenses around them.

This is Havoc's true form. Fala had seen it a few times before during fights when he goes all out.

If Skoll has what the other wolf knights call the ultimate defense, then Havoc has the ultimate offense. The one nicknamed as the God of lighting.

"What, are you planning on destroying the human settlement below us just to kill me?" Fala asks with another grin.

The building they are in is a castle that sits on top of a cliff overlooking a human town their master had founded.

While some view their master as cruel to humans, that's only true in some cases. Fala couldn't understand his dual nature. Killing humans from other worlds without hesitation, sometimes even feeling like he enjoyed doing it. For some reason though, he treats the humans here like they were his family.

'What the fuck is his problem?' She asks herself. 'Demanding us to treat these humans as equals? It's bullshit.'

She remembered when she first got promoted to a wolf knight and met him. Telling her how werewolves are superior to humans.

She just wanted him to go back to his old self, but he would shut her up whenever she voiced superiority over the humans here.

'You put these ideas into my head, and now you want to undo all that just because you had a change of heart?'

Fala grits her teeth and bares her fangs. "He's not worthy of being our pack leader. He treats these humans better than us. Can't you see that he's just using us?" She pleads to Havoc hoping to change his mind.

She'd rather not kill him unless she had to. That was another rule their master had instilled upon them. To not kill your own kind unless it's self defense. A rule, that if broken, would be punishable by death.

At this point though, she'd be sentenced to death for treason, she just didn't want to kill Havoc because of her affection towards him.

"How dare you say those words about him. He's the one who gave you a second chance at life. None of us would be who we are today, we would all have dead from old age already." Havoc shouts and launches several lightning bolts from his hand.

A large explosion destroys a good chunk of the side of the castle. Walls from several floors mostly evaporates into dust, the rest of the large chunks of marble fall onto the city below.

Luckily, none of the humans were injured. They had moved away after Havoc's first attack destroyed part of the wall earlier.

Havoc grits his teeth and lets out a loud sound that sounds like a combination of a howl and a roar after seeing the dust settling and Fala still standing there unfazed.

Fala now had red lines in an intricate pattern all across her body. Havoc had seen something similar to this before, but this was something he had only seen his master be able to do.

'An inscription this complex and powerful requires level six magic. No, it's almost level seven. That means whoever gave this to her is on par with the Gods.'
