Ye Xuan tried to recollect his lost composure and reorganize his muddled thoughts. He failed to do so, the shock he felt was too large.
A seemingly immortal had approached him and asked him suddenly what his relationship was with his mother. What was he supposed to say to that? Should he just play along and obediently answer the man? Should he be skeptical and ask him why that man is asking him that, or why does she know her name and why does he know the he shares some bond with her?
As Ye Xuan stood there lost in his thought with his calm and respectful being lost once again, the immortal stood there waiting for an answer still having that aloof expression in his face.
He asked once again seeing the child in front of him having his daylights knocked off. "How are you related with Li Xiuying?"
Ye Xuan still couldn't recollect his thoughts, he was still dazed and answered in somewhat of a trance. "She was my mother. I'm her son."
Hearing this the aloof man was somewhat shook. Ye Xuan and the other people surrounding the man looked at the man's face with a shock. Even though they only had seen this man for a few moments and didn't even know anything about it, they still felt it was not everyday that man would lose his composure or that aloof expression on his face.
"What did you say? You're her what now?" The man said in a tone that almost seemed like he couldn't believe the words of Ye Xuan.
Ye Xuan didn't know how to respond to this properly, he still couldn't make any sense of his own thoughts but now this man was asking him stupid questions.
He replied being a bit irritated and forgetting his caution for a moment " She's my mother, she gave birth to me." Ye Xuan instantly regretted his actions at almost losing his cool against a man that displayed such otherworldly capabilities.
The immortal still looked dumbfounded in Ye Xuan's relief and worries. He was relieved that the man in front of him didn't get angry but he was also worried looking at him. Would he have to explain to a grown man about the birds and the bees infront of a crowd.
Much to his relief the man regained his composure in a few moments even though that aloof expression was nowhere to be seen in his face anymore. He suddenly waved his hand and both him and Ye Xuan started floating a bit off the ground.
The man stabilized for a bit and soared into the sky dragging Ye Xuan with him using an invisible force.
At this point Ye Xuan didn't even have a change in his expression, he had accepted in his mind that this day would keep on getting weirder, the only thing that kept roiling in his mind was about what this man had asked him.

The man kept on his journey and flew towards a place that was out of the city, somewhat deserted. Ye Xuan had gone out of the city multiple times but never had stumbled in this place.
The man suddenly spoke while continuing his flight mid air. "Li Shizhen, My name is Li Shizhen." Ye Xuan paid close attention to the man as he finally introduced himself.
The fact that the man supposedly knew his mother, but also shared the same surname drowned Ye Xuan in more thoughts. He could not simply push it off as a coincidence for some reason. He kept looking towards Li Shizhen silently.
The man appeared to find something down in the barren green lands. He gracefully floated down and stood there before saying "Martial sister Li, I have something to inform you"
Ye Xuan looked at the person refered to as martial sister Li, it was a beautiful woman who looked to be in her mid twenties. She had faint silver hair, with glistening emerald green eyes and pink lips like cherry blossoms.
She wore an all white outfit which barely exposed some of her flawless jade like skin.
Her beautiful appearance would make it hard for people to shift their gaze away from her.
...well it would usually make it hard for people to look away but, the bloody corpse right beside her was quite attention seeking. Miss Li had a pleasant smile on her face and a hand stained with blood.
It was painfully obvious what had taken place but surprisingly however there wasn't a single stain of blood on her outfit.
Ye Xuan didn't get much time to think about it though, as the woman surnamed Li spoke up in a rather innocent tone "Hm? What is it?" Somehow her voice didn't suit her appearance and definitely didn't suit her aura she was radiating, especially besides the fresh bloody corpse.
Li Shizhen pointed at Ye Xuan and went to say something but couldn't assemble his words. As Miss Li stated at him to get his response, it seemed like Li Shizhen gave up on speaking.
He once again took out the jade box that he had used earlier, he opened it letting the red mist out again. This time however, some pale brown energy came out of his fingers mixing with the mist that had already gotten in front of Ye Xuan.
The red mist started surrounding Ye Xuan and began circling around him a tad bit faster each passing second.
Ye Xuan felt a slight headache and he started getting nauseous. He felt like he was going to throw up, few moments of suffering later he did end up throwing up.
With his condition getting no better he looked at the two people in front of him in confusion and fear. He had no idea what was going on, but he was angry at that man clearly understanding whatever he was facing was his doing. He glared at Li Shizhen, his fear of the mysterious man disappearing by the churning of his stomach and a clanging pain in his head.
As he glared at Li Shizhen with gritted teeth, he felt the red mist entering his body. His green eyes started glistening and a trail of blood started flowing from his eyes as he instantly shut them and started screaming.
Not even a second passed before the pendant he had been wearing started vibrating and gave off a ringing sound, it slowly relieved the pain of Ye Xuan. This was his late mother's pendant.
And it was not the first time this necklace had done something abnormal, everytime Ye Xuan was emotionally vulnerable in the past this pendant radiated a cold air that would calm him down over time.
His calm personality was partially developed due to this pendant of his , of course Ye Xuan didn't know that.
When he first attended academy and was nervous, this pendant provided him this soothing cold air that calmed him down. When he was feeling lonely due to his father going on a business trip, this pendant made a ringing sound which would reduce the loneliness even if it was only a bit.
When the children in his class accused him of killing his mother, this pendant once again provided him a cold air that gave him clarity which slowly stopped his streaming tears even though it couldn't get rid of the guilt he felt.
When he saw the lifeless corpse of his father in front of him at his eighth birthday, that pendant helped him to not go insane and made him accept reality though it couldn't lessen the suffering I'm the slightest.
And today it had saved him from this strange man putting him through what felt like hell to Ye Xuan for the purpose of demonstrating something to the woman who was also surnamed Li like his mother and this accursed man Li Shizhen.
It was like his dead mother protecting him from the afterlife, although he knew it was impossible.
Ye Xuan empty from all thoughts pulled his head up shaking to stare at Li Shizhen with bloodshot eyes and and the bloody trail on his cheeks created by his own blood. His eyes had stopped glowing and he got even angrier seeing the aloof look on Li Shizhen's face that had returned a long while ago.
"Father's soul nourishing jade... How do you have that?" The woman surnamed Li spoke up and asked.
"He's Li Xiuying's son, that's what he said at least. And he does carry the Li clan's bloodline as you saw just now" said Li Shizhen.
There was a silent breeze flowing in the grassy plain which could be heard thanks to how quiet it had become after Li Shizhen revealed the supposed truth.
Miss Li stared at Ye Xuan in shock and then started to look at him intensely, analyzing his facial features.
Though Ye Xuan was still trembling and was awake due to his sheer will, anger and most importantly curiousity to know how they knew about his mother.
That woman found Ye Xuan's face extremely identical to Li Xiuying's except for the hair and the masculinity present in Ye Xuan. He stared back at Li Shizhen in horror "You're telling me I have a nephew?....I suddenly feel old right now"
Ye Xuan who was listening intently was shocked at what he had heard but he lost consciousness at the last sentence of the woman who was his aunt. He was already tired from everything that had happened to him, especially whatever that detestable Li Shizhen did to him but it seemed like that ridiculous statement of that woman was his last straw.
He laid down on the grassy field completely knocked out.

Ye Xuan felt his head was heavy and found it difficult to open his eyes, his mind was blurry and so was his vision, it took him a while to get back to his senses.
He remembered himself losing consciousness in the barren grassy plain, he remembered... He jolted up and looked around where he was.
He found himself in a bed, not in the outdoors where he initially lost consciousness, he was in not in a room, it looked like he was in some sort of cave. He wondered why there was a a bed in a cave. After properly looking, he found the room had not only a bed. It was properly furnished.
It was not very big but not too small, it looked like a cozy room and the floor was covered in carpet, it had a dining table and chairs. The table was made out of wood while the chairs were made out of stone, he also found a desk with a flower pot on it.
The flower was empty though, the room was a bit cold and damp, looked like it had been a long time since it was resided by somebody but it didn't have a speck of dirt or dust.
He got up from bed and stumbled towards the exit, it was a wooden door with a floral design on it. He went towards the door and extended his hand towards the handle to open it.
Bang
The door was opened with a bit of force from outside and it hit Ye Xuan in the face, the already stumbling Ye Xuan fell to the ground after getting struck by the door. He opened his eyes to see the person who opened the door was the person who he found out was his aunt...
Miss Li looked at Ye Xuan sitting at the ground holding his nose with his right arm, "Looks you have already gotten better, why are you sitting at the ground though?" She said while having a grin. She definitely knew what she had done whether it be intentional or not.
Ye Xuan stared at the lady with a blank and stupefied face as if he was stumped by a grown adult acting like this "This day just keeps on getting worse and worse"
