Third person POV
Later, however, it was now 3:20 p.m. (based on Roel's phone), and Kazaki was chagrined how time was slow this afternoon. "Why is time so slow?!" he wailed.
Because of that, he and Roel had an idea: wear their combat suits and have more fun with the monsters on the outskirts of Vall. So, they and a confused Aife went to Roel's home so Roel would pick up his combat attire, which was scavenged by his father during a raid against the shady occult group known as the Ancient Order of the Black Feathers. There, he picked it up and wore it.
What it looked like is both cool and crazy:
It is a durable, form-fitting and free-to-move-around tactical combat uniform (BDU) in deep charcoal black. The material is a strong woven ballistic nylon blend designed to resist scratches and tears and provide moderate infrared signature, perfect for night operations and urban camouflage. It features articulated dark red and black plating around the shoulders and joints for unhindered movement. Prominently displayed on the chest plate is the two stylized feathers of the AOBF, functioning both as a calling sign and a morale patch for the cult.
The headwear consisted of a hardened tactical patrol cap in deep black and dark purple, and it had an integrated (now disconnected and reusable) modular active communications headset that features high-fidelity ear protection and a noise-cancelling microphone boom that fits the aesthetics. The facial mask is a lightweight, breathable black and dark red balaclava that covers the lower face and neck, ensuring a degree of operative anonymity and providing a slight degree of particle filtering of dust and smoke.
The hand and arm wear consisted of dark grey operational gloves with black reinforced knuckle guards and textured palms used for superior weapon grip and high tactile sensitivity. The gloves feature a custom data port on the left wrist to monitor vital signs and connected equipment (perfect for intense missions).
The footwear was a pair of heavy-duty, waterproof leather and ballistic mesh combat boots in black and dark red and with advanced lug soles, providing stealth, silent tread and deep ankle support for rugged terrain that needed to be trekked.
The armour inserts are dark grey reinforced, impact-resistant composite knee and elbow pads that were integrated into the suit's fabric at the crucial joint stress points.
The suit also featured a complex, MOLLE-compatible (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) chest rig and padded duty belt in matching matte black and dark purple, and it secured all necessary equipment:
Gas canisters that block enemy sight and allow the user to escape
A pistol
Now, for this attire, Roel swapped his AK-47 and paired the suit with a customized urban-camo submachine gun (had the now scratched out logo of the AOBF) with a tinted red holographic sight, foregrip, and single-point sling.
After all that, Roel came out in that suit, and Aife was flabbergasted by that sight while Kazaki grinned at Aife. "Is that a suit from an AOBF soldier?"
"Yes, my father and brother had shot that soldier from a mission last year," replied Roel while checking the magazine of his weapon (Unlimited Ammunition blessing from the god of guns, Lead), "and they said that I might have this as an awesome suit for combat. Cool, isn't it?"
While Aife was dazed by it, Kazaki said to Roel, "My turn!"
Another trip was made back to the Kazan household. There, Kazaki wore his own scavenged AOBF soldier. His was striking like Roel's, but it had a different flavour:
The main suit was an insulated over-garment and hood that consisted of a prominent, heavy-duty hood and partial shoulder cape in a rich crimson-red and charcoal black fabric. It is basically multi-layer and fire-resistant, offering both flame protection and thermal insulation against external heat like in Hashi-Tartas Empire's southern desert region. The hood is very deep and structured.
Coiled around the neck and tucked into the upper brown and red vest is a heavy, dark reddish-brown ballistic nylon and fabric scarf. It serves as a seal to prevent sand and ash from being accidentally sucked by the wearer, doubles as additional throat and neck ballistic protection, and provides comfortable neck insulation.
Positioned atop the red and black hood are dark brown heavy-duty, tactical goggles with dark, mirrored lenses. This indicated that it was a filter for intense light and protective plating around the rims. The color was in dark gold.
The base tactical suit was a form-fitting, multi-panel tactical suit in dark charcoal gray, dark red, and brown, and they were made with high-tech blend of aramids and strong stretch fabrics, providing both core movement and additional abrasion resistance.
In addition to that, it featured a brown and red-drab tactical vest that was layered over the base suit. It features multiple prominent, integrated mag pouches that hold grenades and other non-ammunition (only ammunition that are ammunition is classified for the Unlimited Ammunition blessing by Lead). In the center in front of the vest, lay a now scratched-out sigil of the AOBF.
The waist and hip kit was a very robust utility belt in dark brown and black, and it was reinforced with a heavy metal buckle. Attached to the belt are:
A red and brown pouch with a set of integrated glass lenses, functioning both as a tactical communicator for communication and a field sensor for detecting hostiles in the area.
A smaller utility pouch for storing utility tools and smaller survival supplies.
A secure, quick-release sheath for the heavy-duty, combat knives with a white and dark brown grip. Kazaki had a normal, cheap dagger for that.
Integrated rust-resistant metal loops on the belt for clipping in flashbangs, smoke canisters, or medical packs.
As for the legwear and boots, the suit featured the lower part of the base tactical suit in a loose-fitting, durable grey and black fabric, providing full-body cover and protection. There were loose-fitting, heavy-duty red and dark brown fabric gaiters with rolled cuffs. These are crucial and essential for keeping volcanic ash, sand, and small debris out of the boots.
The boots are a pair of durable, thick-soled, black and dark grey, leather heavy synthetic combat boots with deep treads, providing maximum ankle support and a powerful grip for traversing rugged, uneven volcanic terrain and shifty sands.
The suit also featured cuffed glovlettes in dark grey, and this leaves the fingers partially exposed for dexterity, essential for weapons handling and interacting with fine controls, like grenades and communicators, and for the user to adapt into the hot and humid weather. And lastly, the suit had heavy-duty, crimson-red and black fabric bracers over the forearms. These bracers provide a final layer of heat protection, additional abrasion resistance, and a distinct visual marker for the hostiles. The suit had a separate, lightweight, breathable black and brown balaclava that covers the lower face and nose,
Coming out of the house with his handy AK-47 and his dagger and pistol on the utility belt, Kazaki said to Roel and Aife, "I'm ready. Let's go to the northern forests." Aife was as flabbergasted at Kazaki's scavenged AOBF soldier suit as she was at Roel's. Kazaki also had his magical RPG with him on his back on a strong and durable cloth sling.
They eventually headed out to the northern forests, where the new line of action took place. Taking down a bunch of big and hostile Red Slimes (A-ranked) and a few Stone Golems (AA-ranked that explosive magic and attacks are very effective on attacking them), the trio are in constant action. Kazaki fired his RPG with a few seconds of the weapon reloading itself with another ammunition by Lead's Unlimited Ammunition blessing, while Roel was raining down bullets at the Red Slimes. Aife did the finishing blows on the Red Slimes and the shattered Golems with her battle axe. Kazaki utilized the Night Wolf's dark Shadow magic for his RPG, AK-47, and dagger for dark slashing on the monsters, while Roel used the Thunder Dragon's Wind Attack for his AK-47 and pistol for faster and more lethal attacks.
By 4:33 p.m., the trio were exhausted and trudged their way to Vall's convenience store for a meal of well-earned afternoon snacks. Kazaki and Roel levelled up to Level 9, while Aife was now at Level 8 by the Isekai System. It was a long day, but they have an adventure to tell at home later.
