Aksai gave a small nod to the Blackblood Lord.
He understood. He would need to be ready.
Aksai looked at the Blackblood Lord and asked.
"Master Blackblood, if you knew that the Yaksha Lord had deeper schemes," Aksai said slowly, "why did you still agree to his deal?"
The Blackblood Lord gave a light smile, his eyes reflecting a strange mix of wisdom and tiredness.
"Because," he said, "to destroy the Yaksha Lord's sect, I would have to sacrifice the well-being of my own sect. I'd want to avoid such scenarios of mutual destruction if I could. Especially during this time when the demonic faction is at its weakest and the righteous faction is keeping an eye on us. What's the use of hurting your enemy if you end up hurting yourself more?"
He paused, then added, "But that's not the only reason I agreed to his demands."
