Chapter 259: Settle the Score With You Tonight
Zhang Yang's eyes widened. He hadn't expected Tang Qiqi to dare change clothes right in front of him. But just as his gaze was drawn to her hands reaching toward her snow-white thighs…
Tang Qiqi's hands froze at the hem of her skirt. She lifted her head slightly, her beautiful eyes icy cold as she glared at Zhang Yang. "If I had a throwing knife just now, you'd already be dead."
Zhang Yang looked at her and smiled faintly. "If you really wanted to kill me, that steel strip you pulled out from the suitcase would work the same. Why bother with a throwing knife?"
Hearing this, Tang Qiqi instinctively pulled her hand back. She stared at Zhang Yang, frowning. "How did you know?"
Of course it was Xu Danying who told him, but Zhang Yang wouldn't admit it. He simply smiled. "Doesn't matter how I know. What matters is—something you pull out of a suitcase might not be sharp enough. If you missed or failed to kill me, then I would definitely strip your clothes off without hesitation…"
"What are you trying to do?" Tang Qiqi asked, then immediately realized what he meant. Her pretty face flushed red. "Pervert!"
"Don't overthink. At most I'd strip your clothes and kick you out of the villa."
"You—!" Tang Qiqi was so angry she nearly fainted.
"Alright, hurry up and change. I don't want my wife walking around dressed like this."
"Bastard! Who's your wife?!" Tang Qiqi nearly lost her mind again.
Zhang Yang shrugged and ignored her. He looked toward the bathroom instead. "You have five minutes. We leave in five minutes."
Tang Qiqi clenched her fists, glared at him, then quickly opened the wardrobe. She pulled out low-rise blue jeans, a tight black fleece inner jacket, and a green fur-trimmed down vest, then rushed into the bathroom.
"Don't forget to throw away that metal strip. It's useless."
Inside the bathroom, hearing his words, Tang Qiqi grew irritated again. Still, she took the metal strip hidden in her sleeve, hesitated, folded it in half, and tossed it in the trash.
After undressing, she stared at her snow-white reflection in the mirror—her proud, towering peaks. Almost unconsciously, she cupped her Saint-level breasts, then sighed. No matter what happened later, her fate was already tied to that bastard outside.
She had thought about killing him, but Zhang Yang—despite always acting lazy—was extraordinarily vigilant. She never had a chance. And bare-handed, she knew she wasn't his match. Over time, after being teased by him daily, she'd grown used to it. Though she hated him to the bone, if someone handed her a knife… she honestly wasn't sure she could do it.
Besides, he had taken her virginity. If this were ancient times, what was that phrase… "she already belonged to him," the rice already cooked.
Modern people didn't believe in that, but a woman's feelings about the first man to possess her—especially one who remained in her sight constantly—were complex. She didn't like him romantically, but she couldn't deny feeling the faint care he showed.
Like helping her donate to orphanages, rescue centers, and retirement homes… Buying clothes that fit her… Cooking food she liked… Getting her a TV… Even personally going to the mountains to fulfill her wish. And just now, he was even willing to take her along.
If only his mouth weren't so foul, he'd actually be a decent man.
As she thought this, Zhang Yang's impatient voice came from outside.
"Tang Qiqi, you have less than two minutes. Don't tell me you're on your period."
"Bastard!" Whatever warmth she had just felt evaporated instantly. She clenched her fists, shoved away her distracting thoughts, and hurried to dress—because if she were late, that bastard really might leave without her.
Fully dressed, she opened the door. Seeing Zhang Yang's annoying smiling face, she rolled her eyes. "What are you looking at?"
Zhang Yang stared at her and said calmly, "Not bad. Let's go."
Honestly, Tang Qiqi's figure was extremely tall for a woman—around 170 cm. Her long legs in those low-rise jeans made her body look even hotter.
"You're really not afraid I'll run?" she asked as she stepped out of the room.
"Why be afraid? First, you can't kill me now. Second, you have no secrets from me. Everything you know, I know. Meaning, you're no longer useful. If you run, I'll just use you as bait…"
"Bastard! Don't be so full of yourself. You think you know everything?" Tang Qiqi refused to speak further. This man was infuriating.
"Let's go. We'll argue after we finish the real business."
Tang Qiqi was furious but still followed him into the Land Rover he had finally retrieved from the repair shop. The car had been repaired countless times—so many that the insurance company suspected Zhang Yang was a professional crash artist.
"Just the two of us?" she asked after getting in. Her resolve wavered again. This guy was actually bold enough to bring only her?
No backup?
"Of course just us two. Why bring a third wheel?"
"You—!" Tang Qiqi clenched her fists, trying to calm herself.
"Seatbelt on. I don't want points deducted." Zhang Yang glanced at her proud chest.
Tang Qiqi glared at him, but still buckled up. 'Tang Qiqi, you've ruined your life's reputation…'
As the car rolled out of the villa and the gate closed behind them, Tang Qiqi finally realized—he really was taking her, alone. She couldn't tell if he was reckless or just overly confident.
"How many eyes do you think are watching us now?" Zhang Yang asked, smiling at her tightly-pressed lips.
Tang Qiqi shot him a glance. "You know they won't attack the villa openly. So you brought me out intentionally—as bait, right?"
"Say something auspicious. We just left. Do assassins not take holidays for New Year?"
Tang Qiqi turned away from him, looking out the window.
Zhang Yang didn't mind. "Hey, where do you think we rank on Spade Eight's assassination list?"
"Your real goal isn't Tujia Village?" Her tone was unhappy.
"Wrong. Of course it is."
"Then you should know—they won't let you reach it."
"Good. Since they don't want us to go, then I don't want them celebrating New Year either."
Tang Qiqi couldn't help looking at him, sneering. "Arrogant."
"Confident," Zhang Yang corrected with a grin.
"Arrogant!" Tang Qiqi puffed her cheeks angrily.
"Confident!"
"Ugh—mmph—you bastard! Why did you kiss me?!"
"That's confidence."
"You're insane!" Tang Qiqi covered her cheek, blushing furiously. Suddenly she punched him—then turned her punch into a claw and pinched him hard. "Touch me again and I'll kill you."
"No you won't."
"Try it and see—mmph! You bastard, you really did it again—" Tang Qiqi swung her fists, pounding him.
"Uh-oh…" Zhang Yang dodged, then suddenly lowered his voice.
"Don't try to fool me," Tang Qiqi growled.
"Sniper…"
"Hm?" At the word "sniper," Tang Qiqi instantly tensed, staring alertly outside.
"Kidding."
"Zhang Yang! You bastard! Asshole!" Tang Qiqi nearly burst into tears from anger. She'd never felt so helpless. She had even slept with this bastard, yet he treated her like this—it was unforgivable.
"I'm kidding now, but if something really happens…" Zhang Yang glanced at the backseat. "If something goes wrong on the way to Shangyan City, if something happens to me, remember—take the bag in the backseat and run. Forget the villa."
"Why?" Tang Qiqi's heart trembled though her tone stayed cold.
"Stop asking nonsense. Just remember it."
"Hmph. Meddlesome! Who are you to tell me where to go?" Tang Qiqi looked at him. She wasn't stupid—if Zhang Yang died on the way and she foolishly returned to the villa, the women there would tear her apart.
"Heh-heh." Zhang Yang smiled at her.
"What are you laughing at?" she snapped.
"If something really happened, I bet you'd still return to the villa." Zhang Yang said cheerfully.
"Are you crazy? Didn't you tell me not to go back?"
"Yeah. Which means you'll definitely go back. Because you always go against me."
"I'm not that stupid. If you die, I'll be the first suspect. Why would I go back? Am I sick?"
"You're also my woman."
"You—! I'll kill you." Tang Qiqi glared at him, snorted, and thought silently: I'll settle the score with you tonight.
