Chapter 170: Be a Little Reserved, Sister-in-law
"I still want to live a few more years, Xiaoying. I don't want your sister to twist my ear." Zhang Yang thought for a moment and replied decisively. Whether or not she was telling the truth didn't matter. Even if she wasn't wearing a bra, in this freezing Beijing weather, she wasn't sitting in some heated greenhouse—her pajamas had to be thick as a quilt. He'd be lucky to see yarn.
"Brother-in-law, you're guilty, right? You must be guilty, that's why you don't dare to look!"
Zhang Yang stared at the flashing words, speechless. Who the hell begs someone to look at their boobs?
Let's both be a little more reserved, alright? You genius sister-in-law.
"Xiaoying, brother-in-law's tired. I'm going to bed. Hurry up and finish that program for me—that's the real priority."
"Mhm, got it, brother-in-law. Hey, let me ask you something."
"Alright." Zhang Yang did feel a bit sleepy at this point.
"What does 'jerking off' mean?"
"Thud!" Zhang Yang nearly fell flat on the floor.
"Hey, hey, who taught you that? Was it that woman Gao Qi?" Xu Danlu had mentioned before that her little sister was the most well-behaved one, but now she seemed even worse than Lulu!
"Nope! I was reading your QQ space, the old diaries you wrote. What does 'the life of a man who jerks off is tragic' mean? And what does 'don't blame her for being dry if your dick's not hard' mean? Explain, please."
"Brother-in-law…"
"Brother-in-law? You there?"
"Brother-in-law, did you go to the bathroom to jerk off again?"
Zhang Yang struggled to climb back up from under the desk. "Xiaoying, didn't I set my space to private?"
"Your password's too easy… So, what does jerking off mean?"
"Don't play dumb. I don't believe you don't know."
"Fine, brother-in-law, if you agree to video chat with me, I won't dig through your so-called private diary."
"Hey, hey, Xiaoying, if you open that too, I'm done with you. I won't recognize you as my sister-in-law anymore."
Zhang Yang was speechless. The only long post in that space was one he didn't even want to remember. He hadn't updated that thing in ages and never expected Xu Danying to dig it up.
He'd set multiple passwords, yet she broke in as easily as browsing a website. Damn it, computer geniuses are scary.
Without a second thought, he sent her a video call. With his passwords being child's play to her, there was no other way.
To avoid losing his last shred of dignity, he had to compromise. Even though he was a top-tier hacker, in front of her, he was completely powerless—like a hunter who'd caught eagles all his life, only to get blinded by one.
"Hehe, brother-in-law!"
The beautiful, classically charming face of Xu Danying appeared on the screen, her voice sweet like a songbird. Turns out the little brat—
She'd changed her hairstyle, pinning her hair up elegantly.
She was wearing a white hanfu with black trim, looking like a classical fairy.
So beautiful that Zhang Yang's eyes lit up, as if spring had just arrived.
"Brother-in-law, do I look good?" She was in her dorm. Zhang Yang glanced around—it seemed empty. No wonder she was being so bold.
Honestly, his little sister-in-law was stunning. She was only eighteen now. In a few years, when she reached Lulu's age, how much more enchanting would she become?
"Xiaoying… So, about that rumor of not wearing a bra?" Zhang Yang teased her on purpose. No wonder she insisted on video chatting—she probably just wanted to show off that outfit.
Probably had a huge mirror in her dorm too, the little narcissist.
"Hehe, brother-in-law, you're such a perv. Tell me first—do I look good? Then I'll tell you."
"Beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Don't tell me my sister-in-law's getting married?" Zhang Yang praised sincerely.
"Haha, not telling you yet. Guess who bought me this outfit?" Xu Danying played with her sleeve, smiling mischievously.
"Lulu?" Zhang Yang blinked and replied.
"Wrong!"
Zhang Yang scratched his head. "Your boyfriend?"
"Xiaoying doesn't have a boyfriend."
Zhang Yang sighed. "Your parents then?"
"Wrong again!" Xu Danying grinned. "If you can guess it right, I'll take off my clothes. I'm not wearing anything underneath."
Zhang Yang broke into a sweat. Damn, this brat was way too arrogant. Just because I gave in doesn't mean I can't guess.
He took a deep breath. "You're serious? If I guess right, you'll take off your clothes?"
"Mm-hm. I swear there's nothing underneath." Xu Danying clearly had him cornered. "You get two more chances."
"One's enough." Zhang Yang grinned.
"Alright, but if you're wrong, your punishment is… taking me on a world trip next time."
Zhang Yang tilted his head and smiled. "Fine, but you better keep your word that you've got nothing on underneath."
"I promise! I swear, if I'm lying, I'll be your concubine."
Zhang Yang rubbed his forehead helplessly. What kind of oath was that?
"Fine, I believe you. Then here's my guess." Zhang Yang smiled. "The person who bought it is your sister's good friend—also someone I know well. She's beautiful, right?"
Hearing that, Xu Danying's face tensed up. She bit her lip, tugged at her collar, and tried to act nonchalant. "Hmph, if you've got the guts, say her name."
"Alright." Zhang Yang kept smiling. "She drives, lives in a villa…"
"Uh… brother-in-law, stop teasing, just say it already." The girl's face clearly betrayed her composure.
"Alright then. She is…" Zhang Yang paused intentionally, watching as Xu Danying's eyes locked on his lips, nervous and expectant. Was she really not wearing anything underneath?
"She is… the infamous Sister Gao Qi, right? Did I guess wrong?"
"Ha!!" Zhang Yang saw her let out a huge sigh of relief, then cheer like she'd just won a lottery. "Yay! You're wrong, brother-in-law! It's Sister Qiao!"
Zhang Yang smiled silently. He'd actually spent one system point to check the answer. Now, seeing only nineteen points left, he regretted it.
He was going to answer wrong on purpose anyway—why waste the point? Damn it.
Though he did get curious whether that little girl really wasn't wearing anything underneath. But seeing her expression, it seemed she really was naked. Feeling bad, he'd deliberately answered wrong.
"Fine, fair's fair. Brother-in-law will take you on a world trip next time." Zhang Yang added, "But before that, you'd better finish coding that system for me."
"No problem!" Xu Danying giggled, giving him a meaningful look and pretending to pout. "Brother-in-law, you were so close to guessing right. What a pity! You could've admired your little sister-in-law's perfect body."
Zhang Yang chuckled. Brat, if I really wanted to see you naked, I'd have just said the right answer. Even if you really weren't wearing anything, you'd probably still chicken out.
"Brother-in-law…" Xu Danying suddenly frowned at her screen. "You were attacked last night?"
Hearing that, Zhang Yang frowned. "How do you know?"
"Look at the news… Brother-in-law, did you offend some news outlet? Why are they writing such nasty stuff about you?" she said angrily while moving her mouse.
"Really?" Zhang Yang moved the video aside and opened a news site.
"Playboy CEO Attacked at Midnight…"
"Nuwa President Zhang Yang Attacked—Suspected Cheating Scandal."
"Young Scientist Falls for Beautiful Teacher—Heiress's Dream Shattered!"
"Young and Wild, Zhang Yang Unrestrained!"
One slanderous headline after another appeared on the front pages of major news sites.
Zhang Yang's brows furrowed. He clicked one open and got furious just reading a few lines.
"Meining City's young scientist and entrepreneur Zhang Yang was allegedly attacked due to his womanizing. According to sources, the playboy businessman was caught in the dorms of Meining University with his beautiful teacher, Yang Fei. Three assassins broke in to kill him, reportedly driven by jealousy over his romantic escapades…"
"Love Rivalry Turns Deadly—Heiress Strikes Back?"
The more Zhang Yang read, the tighter his brows knit. The media had turned his relationships with Yang Fei, Lulu, Gao Qi, and Qiao Xier into a cesspool of gossip. They mentioned his real relationships with Lulu and Gao Qi only vaguely while sensationalizing rumors about Qiao Xier and Yang Fei.
They painted him as a man addicted to beauty—switching from an heiress to a teacher and sparking a jealous feud, even implying that the Qiao family was behind the assassination attempt.
Bastards. Zhang Yang knew exactly where those killers came from, yet the media twisted it to shift the blame, ignoring the danger he'd faced.
It was obvious someone was manipulating the narrative to divert attention.
Those assholes. He hadn't even slept since last night's attack, and now he was being smeared all over the internet.
Did they really think he was that easy to mess with?
"Xiaoying…"
"Yeah, brother-in-law?"
"Do me a favor." Zhang Yang narrowed his eyes. Though exhausted, he sure as hell wasn't someone to mess with.
