He opened his mouth to say something, but it caught in his throat as his expression shifted to confusion.
He held her face in his hands and peered into her eyes. Zarqa was locked in his gaze, unable to look away from the deep brown eyes surveying her.
" What?" She repeated, letting it be known that she was uncomfortable.
" Your eyes…" the boy mumbled.
" What's wrong with them?"
" The yellow color had faded from them…" He pushed the cascade of curly blue hair away from her neck. " And there is no mark on your skin anymore…"
The girl frowned slightly as she freed herself from his grasp and crawled over to the pond, inspecting her reflection.
True to his words, the yellowish marks left by the deadly poison she ingested were totally gone. Neither Jaber nor even Shula could remove them before. So how was that possible?
