As the smoke faded, it was still dark, but he was in a much larger space. Qassim seemed confused at that. " It would be ill-advised to make you appear out of nowhere, so I took the liberty of transporting you to this empty shed," the Jinn explained, pushing open an old wooden door to reveal the slums behind and the night sky dotted with bright stars.
" After my master," he said as though bowing him into a palace.
Qassim stepped out hesitantly, lamp still clutched to his chest as though afraid it would be stolen from him. " Where can I find my family?" He turned back to the creature, which extended a long, thin finger towards the small mud house before them.
" There."
Qassim didn't linger. He quickly bolted to said house, looking for the door, his heart racing with joy and excitement.
He stopped by the doorstep, hand raised to knock, a large smile adorning his face.
But then… he hesitated…
