Zarqa and Wael stood outside the chamber, neither speaking nor looking at each other. Their eyes were focused on the doors as they held their breaths, as though attempting to look beyond them.
Neither of them seemed to be successful in that regard.
The quietness of the corridor almost strangled them.
A moment later, that silence was disturbed by the soft click of the door's knob as Jaber stepped out, and they were upon him immediately, eyes spilling the questions they were yet to voice.
He schooled his face, revealing nothing, and looked at the older of the two. " Was he ever examined when he first showed signs of sickness?"
Wael nodded. " Yes, by the palace's physician."
