Zarqa blinked as she was led into the erected makeshift abode. Ayla had provided a change of clothes and a basin of water for her to clean up.
" Why can't I go back with the others?" She inquired, and the woman's eyes narrowed.
" You think you will be safe there."
Zarqa frowned at that.
" Just to make sure. You saw something, didn't you? You saw something that made you realize the prince's life was in danger. That's why you went to help."
Zarqa pressed her lips shut, and Ayla's bearing relaxed ever so slightly. " It's fine, you don't need to tell me. I already got the answer I wanted. For now, do rest. No one would come for you here." She stood up, about to leave.
The girl balled her hands as she looked up into the woman's eyes. " You said it wasn't the first time." Ayla looked down at her.
" Yes indeed, it's not the first time that the prince's life had been targeted."
