Zarqa didn't know how she ended up there. The last thing she remembered was the man in the cloak standing before her. Then she woke up to find herself bound in shackles along with a group of women and being transported through the desert. Her satchel was gone, and she had nothing other than the clothes on her back.
Trying to force her mind to remember seemed useless, so she turned to ask those around her, yet none of them seemed to know how she was brought there either. All they knew was that she was tied up to their chain while they were asleep.
Failing to know about what happened, she decided to ask about what would happen. Where were they taking them?
The women were even less helpful than before when it came to that.
They had been traveling for days on end without stopping to take a break or stretch their legs, always tied together.
The jeering of the carriage made most of them so sick that the little food they were given wasn't keen on staying down.
