"Keep your cool, Chen Huan!" I called out to him as I began my attacks. I wasn't sure he'd heard me, but though he acted recklessly, darting in and out around his head and trying to get at the dragon's eyes with his light lasers, he wasn't leaving himself open enough for the dragon to get a decisive blow on him right away.
For once, I decided that the situation called for spiritual lock-on. He was surprisingly easy to maintain the lock on, too. Of course, most attacks could do almost nothing against them, locked on or not—snakes like Chen Huan were the ones who relied on evasion, while dragons believed in the hardness of their scales.
Thankfully, I could tell that my Ninefold Spirit Arrows were just about strong enough to be better than totally useless, and I was actually quite a bit fresher now than when we'd faced the dragon on the 100th floor.
