After the first meeting, the Kyuubi demanded to meet with Tanna over and over again much to Naruto's incredulity. The Godaime when told about it just stared at the younger blond blankly before sighing and giving Tanna permission to observe training. Tanna was surprised the Godaime was allowing this to happen to which the blnd woman explained her thought process on the matter. She did not want an angry giant fox in her hands, so if meeting and talking to Tanna pleased the giant chakra beast then so be it. Tanna had the feeling she just did not want more paperwork if the dark bags under her eyes were an indication, she offered some of her best tea as compensation. The Godaime Hokage accepted the tea then threw them out of the office very literally, prompting Anko to hold Tanna as they left.
Tanna beamed at her, "Well, positive side, I get to tell you everything that happens from now on."
Anko sighed, "I think you mean absurd, Tanna - koi."
Naruto muttered, "Who else can claim that they are gossip buddies with the Kyuubi?"
Tanna huffed, "It is not that bad Naru - tan, besides a happy Kyuubi means less destruction and damage so, it is a huge positive for us."
Naruto sighed, "Of course, nee - chan. Anyway, are you heading to the Capital soon?"
Tanna, "After your birthday, I am not missing it this year. Lady Shijimi agreed too and is coming here to celebrate."
Naruto blinked then flushed, "Nee - chan, I am not a kid anymore. I kind of had other ideas."
Tanna chuckled, "Which is why it will be a lunch party, that way you will have a free evening to do whatever you want. I already informed everyone about it too with Anko's help."
Anko nodded, "Besides you are turning eighteen, that mean you are officially an adult by the civilian standards too."
Naruto grinned, "Yeah, you are right aneki. Lunch party sounds good, thank you nee - chan. I have to get going now, I still need to visit the seal corps."
Tanna, "Alright! Go and have fun, Ruru. I have to head back to the Academy as well. I still have a teacher's meeting to attend."
Anko hummed, "I will walk you to the academy then head back to my office. Have fun with your seals, sunshine. See you at home, yeah?"
Naruto grinned and noddedin agreement as he headed in the direction opposite of the two women to a building located on top of the Hokage monument. The buiding was dedicated ti creating sealing scrolls, tags, and other such items. Naruto greeted his fellow seal enthusiasts which was being led by Akari Oba - chan. The red haired older woman had bloomed after the Godaime had approached her with the offer of joining the Seal R & D division. She had turned it down when the Sandaime had offered it since her twins were still so young but after they started the Academy, she found herself free with more time in her hands. Kuroki - kun looked just like her but with his father's colouring and calm attitude while his twin, Shinju looked like her father but her colouring. The twins personalities were a blend of both parents balancing each other out and soon they would be finishing the Academy.
Toge wanted to follow in his mother's footsteps and become a Seal specialist while Shinju just like her older cousin wanted to become a shinobi. Naruto had become flustered when he realized that Shinju looked up to him as a role model but it had also encouraged him to work harder to become a Seal Master. The blond hoped he can become one before the baby Uzumakis became Chunin, that way he can offer her apprenticeship just like Jiraiya had offered him one. Yes, he already had a Mastery under his belt but it never hurt to have more than one as it only made him look more reliable. Not to forget sealing was an Uzumaki specialty and no way he was going to miss out on the chance on mastering a field his clan was literally famous across the continent for. Naruto reached his station and started to work on his seal that he was creating for his Mastery, it was based off his father's seal for space and time.
Tanna stretched her back, "Finally the meeting is over."
Mikoto chuckled, "Happy to head home?"
Tanna nodded, "You bet Koko - tan. Say when do I get to meet Itachi's lover? Naruto was telling me about it all yesterday."
Mikoto smiled brightly, "She is coming to Konoha at the end of the year. Her family has agreed she will marry into the clan by next year summer."
Tanna's eyes brightened, "That is wonderful news."
Iruka joined them, "What about Shisui? I heard he was planning a grand proposal for his boyfriend."
Himeko laughed, "Oh! He is, he is. In fact, Yuri - san is helping him prepare the venue. It will be at the end of this month. She is equally excited to have a brother in law."
Iruka, "How lovely! Tell me how it goes."
Mikoto's eyes twinkled, "Of course! You know I love my gossip."
Tanna, "An Uchiha and an Aburame. They are going to be a riot together, aren't they?"
Himeko, "Nothing like a little couple causing riot to keep he rest of the shinobi in line."
Anko skidded in front of them, "Tanna!"
Tanna blinked, "Anko - chan, what happened? You are out of breath."
Anko, "There was an explosion in the Sealing department... Something happened, well, you should come and see for yourself."
Mikoto, "Oh dear! Go ahead, Tanna - chan, make sure Naruto - kun is alright. I will go grab Sasuke - kun."
Tanna nodded, "Let's go, Anko - chan."
Anko grabbed her and shun shined, "I should warn you, it is a little odd."
A familiar teenage voice, "You are an Uzumaki too?"
Another familiar one, "All three of you?"
Tanna entered the room and saw a teen Naruto and a teen Sakura, "Naruto? Sakura?"
Naruto looked up confused, "Eh?"
Sakura, "Oh! Hello."
Tanna eyed the teenagers and approached him slowly, "Naruto, are you alright?"
Naruto's eyes were wide at the soft voice and care, "Yes, I am alright. I am sorry but who are you, nee - chan?"
Tanna smiled sadly, "You are Uzumaki Naruto, but you are not my Uzumaki Naruto, are you?"
Tsunade's breath hitched "Are you sure?"
Sakura looked confused, "What do you mean? Lady Tsunade, who is this Lady? Why is she acting so intimate with Naruto?"
Tanna, "Lady Tsunade, I raised my baby brother Naruto for more than a decade. I believe I would know him quiet well."
Naruto's eyes widened, "You did? When? How?"
Tanna, "Calm, Naruto, I will try and explain. First what do you remember before waking up here?"
Naruto looked at the kind eyes then at Sakura who looked equally confused as him and then he explained how he had just learned about his clan from the Godaime. He had received a few of his clan items and Sakura was helping him go through them when they found a scroll among those items. The teen Sakura nodded in agreement and explained they were curious about the scroll as it looked pretty plain and opened it only to end up here. Tanna listened to the explanation then nodded and started explaining about her Naruto and how he was working on a Mastery on the field of Seals, that got wide eyed awe filled looks from both teenagers but Tanna carried on. She was not sure exactly what sort of seals, her brother used but it seems like they switched places with him and their Sakura. The younger Sakura's breath hitched at that and shhe looked pale and worried which prompted Tanna to calm her down.
Tsunade, "They are just teens. What are your ranks?"
Naruto, "I am a Genin."
Sakura, "I am a Chunin."
Tanna grimaced, "Genin? How? Tell me Naruto, in your world let's call it. Did you not stop Gaara - san from loosing control and destroying Konoha?"
Sakura, "He did."
Naruto nodded, "We are friends now."
Anko scowled, "That should have given you the Chunin status... Fucking Elders!"
Naruto became quiet then, "So, the Naruto in this world?"
Tanna, "Got a field promotion to Chunin for saving countless lives during the Chunin exam."
Sakura, "We will talk to the Godaime once we return."
Tsunade, "Or I can do it for you."
Naruto, "What? Baa - chan? You would?"
Tsunade, "Brat! You are a Tokubetsu Jounin here. I will be damned if in another world the nosey Elders keep my shinobi from advancing."
Sakura beamed, "Lady Tsunade, thank you. Naruto, did you hear? You can become a Chunin."
Anko snarled, "He should have been one a long time ago. I bet it was that group who kept him a Genin to keep him under control."
Tanna, "Ah! Them! I am so glad Sarutobi - dono took over that group and is keeping them from intefering too much in the shinobi affairs."
Naruto grabbed Tanna's hands, "Jiji? Jiji is alive?"
Tanna, "Of course, he is. Jiraiya made sure he was okay... Don't tell me Orochimaru... "
Naruto nodded grimacing, "Yes."
Tanna hummed, "Let's mark out the differences between your world and this one."
That took a while to finish and the shinobi realized how different things were for both worlds soon enough. Tanna had met Naruto on the day she first arrived, it was the same day, Naruto was being kicked out of the orphanage. Naruto looked lost at that saying, he did not have anyone and he was scavenging after getting kicked only to be found by ANBU Weasel who took him to the Hokage. Anko looked murderous but took a deep breath to calm down while Tanna went ahead and hugged him apologizing much to his confusion. The blond slowly hugged her back feeling the care and Ako sat down next to her hugging them both while muttering about how she is going to give the elders hell. Sakura watched this wide eyed looking at Tsunade who looked angry but kept calm and Akari - san who was looking at the three with worry while also talking to others aboout the Seal.
Sakura cleared her throat, "I have to ask, you apologised earlier. Why apologise?"
Tanna looked at her sadly, "Because it is obvious I did not survive the assassination attempt on my family in your world. The fact Naruto did not meet me at all points at that."
Naruto's hug tightened, "Your family was assasinated? Like Sasuke's family?"
Tanna, "Well Jiraiya and I are the only ones left of our family, to be honest."
Anko narrowed her eyes, "Also, what do you mean be Sasuke's family?"
Sasuke appeared then, "Naru - koi! Are you alright?"
Kurida followed him, "Sakura - koibito, goodness gracious! Are you okay?"
Naruto stuttered, "Sa... Sasuke? K... K... Koi?"
Sakura was red in the face, "K... K... Koibito???"
Mikoto, "Naru - chan, thank goodness you are okay."
Naruto stared wide eyed, "Uh... Um... "
Tanna sighed and got everyone's attention explaining what was happening, "And now we are figuring out where things differ. Though it seems it was different from the beginning."
Sasuke paled, "Tanna nee - sama, you did in that world."
Mikoto gasped, "Unthinkable!"
Sakura looked at the Uchiha who was worried about her then at Sasuke - kun, "I... I guess this is another change?"
Tanna, "Hm? Ah yes! I bet those Elders intefered here too. Naruto, your mom and Sasuke's mom had a marriage engagement written out for the two of you before you were born."
Naruto's eyes widened, "Mom did?"
Mikoto looked sad, "From your reactions, is it safe to conclude we are dead too?"
Kuroda, "Is that true Saku - koibito?"
Sakura who turned completely red now nodded, "Y... Yes, the whole clan was massacred."
Tanna, "Did they find out who did it?"
Naruto, "Itachi - san did leaving only Sasuke as the survivor."
Tanna had a dark expression now as she looked serious, "Now that is a cover up, if I ever heard one. I know Itachi - kun is strong and clever. However taking on an entire clan of veteran war hardened shinobi. Hah! What a joke!"
Mikoto nodded, "Agreed! Something else happened and Itachi - kun no doubt decided to take the blame for it all."
Sasuke nodded after thinking about it, "Sounds like something nii - sama would do in a heart beat, if it means keeping me from going after someone who is powerful and too dangerous for me to battle."
Naruto though looked at Sasuke, "Sasuke, this uniform, you are a Jounin."
Sasuke smirked, "Yup, we had quiet a fun night after I became Jounin though it sounds like something else happened to you and me in your world."
Naruto looked sad, "Yeah, you kind of defected to Orochimaru."
Sasuke growled, "To that perverted snake? For what sane reason would I do that?"
Naruto blinked at that, "Oh! Um... That's because... "
Sakura sighed, "Orochimaru offered you power Sasuke - kun, so you left and... Well, we have been trying to get you back but no avail."
Sasuke, "Naruto - chan, listen to me."
Naruto spluttered, "C... Chan?"
Sasuke, "Listen! If your Sasuke - kun is anything like me then he will return home once he knows he still has family in the village."
Naruto, "He would?"
Sakura, "But how? No other Uchiha is alive."
Sasuke, "But his fiance is."
Naruto, "You mean... You mean... "
Mikoto nodded, "I agree! I loved your mother Uzumaki Kushina very dearly. I have no doubt she and I would have come up with an engagement for you even in your world."
Naruto, "Oh!"
Sakura, "That makes sense. That feels good, Kuroda - san thank you."
Kuroda who had been gently messaging her shoulders smiled, "You are welcome, koibito."
Sakura flushed looking at her lap shyly, "We must be really close, huh?"
Kuroda, "Our parents are already talking about our marriage which will happen once you finish your own Mastery."
Sakura visibly brightened looking up then looked sad, "We are? I feel really jealous of my counterpart now. She is so lucky."
Naruto who heard it could not help but agree, "It is not fair!"
Tanna, "Oh dear!"
Naruto started to sniffle with tears falling, "It is not fair. It is not fair. Why does... Why does he get a nee - chan? A family? A fiance? Why him? Why not me? What did I do?"
Sasuke hugged him, "Ruru - tan, you did nothing wrong."
Tanna scooted over letting Sasuke join the hug, "Let's order dinner, I get the feeling it wil be along night."
Anko, "You stay with our baby brother, I will go deal with the dinner."
Naruto looked at the older women and felt his heart twinge, "Nee - chan... "
Tanna, "Yes Naru - tan?"
Naruto looked at the blanket, "Can... Can I call you nee - chan too?"
Tanna gently cupped his face, "No matter the world, you will always be my outoto. I am just sorry, I did not survive to meet you."
Naruto, "Don't apologise for that. It's... It's not your fault. Um... Should we keep comparing the worlds to each other?"
Tanna nodded as she smiled at how cute the teen Naruto looked, her Naruto was a tall man, practically a full fledged adult already. She decided to ask about the Academy and boy was that another can of worms ust waiting to explode. To say Sakura and Naruto were pissed and miffed at the lack of subjects they had compared to this world was quiet the understatement of the century. The pink haired Chunin had promptly entered a rant saying if they could have been allowed chakra control exercises like tree walking from the get go they could definitely have been stronger and better. Naruto had to agree with her after learning basic sealing were taught to the Academy in this world along with plant biology which he would have loved to learn about. Tanna could only smile in understanding as she let the two teen finish their rants and complaints befor stopping looking determined.
Sakura, "Naruto, once we return we should ask the Godaime and Kakashi - Sensei to look into the Academy curriculum."
Naruto nodded, "I will ask Pervy Sage to have a look too. He is the only Seal Master I know."
Sakura, "Ano... Tanna - Sensei, would it be okay if we borrrowed your planner?"
Tanna smiled ruffling her short hair fondly, "Of course, it is fine. This is about the education of you kids. I can bet if these subjects had been there, NAruto would not be a dead last at all, he would be a normal average student, while you, you would be shining bright just like my student Sakura."
Sasuke leaned on Naruto's shoulder, "That's because Sakura - chan really did shine under your guidance Tanna nee - sama and Naruto turned out to be a natural genius when it came to the sealing techniques."
Naruto blushed as he mumbled, "Sasuke - kun, thank you."
Sakura turned red again as she stared at the woman in wonder, "Um... What about others?"
Tanna, "By others you mean your two best friends, Hinata - chan and Ino - chan? Well, Hinata - chan has become one of the strongest hand to hand fighters of your generation while Ino - chan is ready to take over as Yamanaka clan head and the T & I department."
Sakura's eyes widened, "Hinata - chan and I are best friends? Seriously?"
Tanna nodded, "Oh yes! The three of you bonded during the E - rank missions and got really close to each other. You were the Kunoichi trio of your batch. I suppose that did not happen to you, did it?"
Sakura's face fell, "No, so many lost chances. This is so unfair."
Tanna, "Well, you are only.. How old are you?"
Sakura, "We both turned sixteen a while ago."
Tanna, "So young indeed, you have a lot of time still. Once you return, ask both Ino - chan and Hinata - chan out for a girls only night. It worked for you here."
Sakura nodded, "Sounds good, I will do it. Hinata - chan is really nice too."
Naruto looked curious, "Ano nee - chan, what about me?"
Tanna looked amused, "You have a lot of friends too, though this little fucker holding you so possessively declared to the school that you belonged to him only and anyone who disagrees could fight him."
Sakura's eyes looked close to popping, "Sasuke - kun did what?"
Naruto spluttered, "Wha... What? Wh... Why?"
Sasuke eyed him, "What do you mean why? You and I are engaged Naru - koi. You belong to me the same way I belong to you. I will be damned before I let anyone take you from me."
Mikoto nodded, "My son is right, you are now family Naruto - kun. You are not alone."
Naruto, "Oh! I have a family... Well, the me of this world has one... I am an orphan."
Tanna cupped his face again, "Listen to us Naruto - kun, while I did not meet you, Kushina - dono certainly was friends with Mikoto - chan here. They were best friends. Once you return ask for past Uzumaki clan contracts. Go to the filling department and fill up a form for it. They are legally obligated to tell you."
Mikoto nodded, "I am a paranoid kunoichi Naruto - kun. There is no doubt I would have done everything to leave a file of the engagement somewhere there. Take control back, you are an Uzumaki, you are more important than you think."
Tanna nodded, "People killed to be related to the Uzumaki clan. Lift your chin up baby brother and be proud of who you are. Do not be afraid, you have more friends than you think."
Mikoto, "I know for a fact Yoshino - chan would not give you up without a fight."
Sasuke scowled, "Yeah, the Nara would not, would they?"
