Chapter 24 - Rise of the East Continent

Rise of the East Continent…

Jun stood firmly in front of the reception desk, his posture radiating calm authority despite the chaotic nature of the world around him. The bustling guild hall was filled with people of different species and backgrounds, some talking in hushed tones while others were already preparing for their next expeditions.

"I want to register my guild," Jun said clearly to the man behind the counter.

The man nodded, his eyes scanning Jun over carefully. "Okay, that's fine," he replied, jotting down the details.

"Wait, when are you free today?" Priyanshu, standing to the side, asked, leaning on the counter.

Jun shook his head with a small smile. "Not today. A new monster has appeared on Sathy Mountain, and we're planning a raid."

Priyanshu raised his eyebrows. "A raid, huh? Sounds intense."

Harsh, a tall man with a confident demeanor, joined in. "I was planning on clearing the Blue-Level Dungeon with you, but I guess I'll have to post a hiring notice on the mercenary board instead," he said, disappointment evident in his tone.

Jun's eyes flicked to him, catching his hesitation. "Our guild will take that mission if you don't have any objections," he said calmly, his voice steady and reassuring.

Harsh frowned slightly. "Well… you have a newbie guild. Wouldn't it be better to gain some experience by clearing Green-Level Dungeons first?"

Jun smiled faintly. "Don't worry. We have four Urza users in our guild. Some of their stats are above 9.0."

Harsh blinked, visibly impressed. "Wow… so you're saying you've got a sort of… cheat system? How can a new guild slayer reach 9.0 in just ten days… and even learn Urza? That's… remarkable."

He extended his hand to Jun. "It'll be good working with you."

Jun accepted the handshake, firm and confident. "Likewise," he replied. There was no arrogance in his tone, just a quiet sense of capability that made Harsh instinctively respect him.

At the Dungeon Entrance

Harsh and his team waited, scanning the area around the Blue-Level Dungeon. Its stone archway loomed above them, carved with ancient runes that seemed to hum faintly with power. Soon, Jun and his guild arrived, weapons gleaming and determination clear in their eyes.

Harsh inspected their equipment, nodding slightly before stepping aside to let them enter.

[You have Entered the Dungeon of Yeti]

[Defeat the Mother Yeti to complete the mission]

[Destroy the Dungeon Core to exit the Dungeon]

The team advanced cautiously, the air growing colder and heavier with each step. Shadows shifted unnaturally on the walls, and the faint sound of growls echoed from deep within.

"Everyone, prepare for the first wave," Harsh instructed.

The team took their positions. Tanks stepped forward, shields raised, forming a defensive wall. Magicians moved backward, readying spells, their eyes narrowing in focus.

Soon, small Yetis charged. They were smaller than those Jun had seen in the Tower, but their strength was incredible. The front line shuddered under the initial onslaught, cracks forming in their defenses as fists, claws, and primitive weapons collided with shields.

The magicians unleashed a coordinated volley. A massive fireball engulfed the charging Yetis in a brilliant flash of orange and red. Flames roared as the creatures shrieked and fell. The first wave was repelled. Only two more waves stood between them and the Mother Yeti's lair.

Two Days Later…

After relentless combat and careful strategy, Jun's team had fought their way to the Boss's hideout. The journey had taken two grueling days, during which the team sustained injuries, but thanks to the diligent work of priests and healers, everyone was in decent condition.

Before them, the lair opened up into a wide cavern. Shadows shifted along the jagged walls. The Mother Yeti dominated the center of the room, easily triple the size of a normal Yeti, muscles rippling beneath thick fur. Two male Yetis, each imposing in size, flanked her as guards.

The Mother Yeti hissed and let out a guttural roar, sending a few smaller Yetis forward to engage first.

"Jun, I'll handle one guard. You and Team 2 take down the other," Harsh commanded. "I can't hold this one for long, so make it fast."

Jun nodded. The smaller Yetis charged, and the team braced for impact, shields clashing against claws and heavy fists.

The second Yeti swung at Jun. He raised his shield just in time, but the sheer force of the blow sent a shiver down his arm and halved his health. Quick thinking, the team threw ropes, binding the creature's arm and preventing it from retaliating. The Yeti struggled, but Team 2's coordinated strength held it firmly.

Suddenly, a figure leapt into the fray—a girl wielding a massive sword. With a swift, precise motion, she swung her weapon in an anticlockwise arc. The Yeti's arm was severed, flying across the cavern with a horrifying thud. Its scream echoed, reverberating off the cavern walls.

The Mother Yeti's attention shifted, her amber eyes narrowing as she realized the situation. She had been focusing on Harsh, but now her injured guard demanded her intervention.

"Finish that guard quickly!" Harsh yelled. "If she joins the battle, it's over for us. Help me take him down fast!"

Jun raised his sword and slashed at the Yeti's neck, but the creature's skin was tougher than expected. The cut, however, was enough for Novia to drive her long sword into the wound, decapitating the Yeti completely. The team regrouped quickly and rushed to assist Harsh.

But it was too late—the Mother Yeti had entered the fight, towering over them with raw power. Harsh was on the defensive, blocking massive strikes from the creature while blood dripped from a wound on his head. He knew he couldn't hold her off for long.

"Take down the guards first! Leave the Mother Yeti to me. I can hold her for a few more minutes," he shouted, his voice strained with pain.

Before he could finish, a massive hand struck him, sending him crashing into a corner of the cavern. Blood streamed from his wounds, threatening his life. Immediate healing would be necessary, or he could die.

Now, the responsibility fell squarely on Jun's shoulders. He was the only one capable of leading Team 2 and coordinating the guild's efforts against these powerful monsters. Every decision, every action he made in the next moments would determine the outcome of this battle.
