Those that are slightly redder are being eaten by Aunt, who's holding them in her hand. As she eats, she smiles at Big Aunt and says:
"Tantan's Aunt, you've really gone all out for this New Year... Do you like pickles? The kids' granduncle taught me a way to pickle some vegetables, I'll bring you a jar the next time I visit the wholesale market."
Big Aunt, who is also thrifty and good at managing the household, is unfazed by Aunt's stinginess and just nods generously at the moment:
"Sure, if you don't mind, drop by the market sometime. I can give you some imperfect fruits from my stall."
"I won't mind at all."
Aunt says straightforwardly, "Every night our family goes to the small supermarket at 9 o'clock. Just half an hour before closing, there are always lots of great deals on fresh fruits and vegetables."
