Su Yan chuckled.
Then he continued,
"It happened while I was walking in the mountains. My long-running bad luck flared up again, and I suddenly got caught up in a clash between two groups of ferocious beasts."
"Do you have any idea how scared I was at that time?"
"I was stuck in the middle of the path, a horde of beasts in front of me and another behind. I was caught in a pincer attack with nowhere to run."
"I thought to myself, This is it, it's over. Today I'm going to be torn apart by these mythical beasts; there's no hope, I'm just waiting for death."
"And just when the two beast hordes were about to collide, I suddenly..."
As Su Yan spoke, he paused again, deliberately building suspense for a second time.
At this, a few of the more reckless hotheads couldn't take it anymore.
One of them blurted out impatiently,
"Can you stop dragging this out?!"
"It's getting dark, and we haven't eaten all day! Can you get on with it?!"
"Yeah, hurry up!"
