The old man was holding a small basin filled with broken rice, just about to feed the chickens when he suddenly looked up towards the courtyard. He then heard Yi Ran nonchalantly call out, "Elder Sun, I'm here!!"
Elder Sun glanced at Yi Ran, "Just in time, it's nearly mealtime. Go to the kitchen and add some firewood to the stove."
Yi Ran's mouth twitched violently.
Whining and complaining, really.
He was very reluctant to come to Elder Sun's place because every time he saw Elder Sun, the elder would order him to do chores.
Yi Ran looked utterly dispirited, showing none of his previous excitement.
Considering himself, Yi Ran, although his parents died young, he was still raised in luxury, right?
Though he endured quite some hardships a few years ago due to certain events, overall, his life had been smooth. He essentially lived an effortless life, having everything provided for him, so when had he ever helped kindle a fire? When had he ever been ordered around to work?
