Chapter 33 - Woe I'm Woeful (Continued)

The two walked casually, with the blindfolded woman leading the way.

"Do you even know where my wife is?" Gynesis asked, not even giving the ambience time to do its job.

Then again, there wasn't anything new going on in terms of the scenery anyway. There's been nothing happening in the 2 minutes that passed between chapters.

Geneva , without stopping, spun on her heel to face him. 'Well actually I spun on thin air' Smugly interjected the female exorcist. 'My body seems allergic to the ground, remember?'

Yeah, yeah, whatever. Anyways-

"No, I don't. But what I do know is that you're different, so she should be too." She answered, casually doing a barrel roll to side-step a tree she was in a crash course for otherwise.

'What?' He thought hearing her words, which sounded like straight gobbledygook to him.

"The fuck does different even mean in this context?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't mean the way you talk or walk. I mean that compared to the things I've 'seen' so far, they all look like extensions of the ground, but moving. Unlike you, who looks like... some guy. And feel oddly familiar."

Damn

"I mean, damn, okay. That answers that I guess." Gynesis simply shrugged. "I'm assuming you're gonna look for a 'different' feeling or whatever to find her?"

He asked a question, and she gave an answer. A nod. Simple and polite.

Then, a thought crosses her mind. And, like most of her thoughts, it bloomed into action before she could mull it over completely.

"What does she even look like anyway?" Asked the blindfolded woman. As if the information prodded for could be of any use for her current state.

That said, she turns to face the direction she was heading.

Over with the male of the two, he didn't flinch as he gave his answer. Almost like he was hoping she'd ask. 'I was, actually.'

"She's got hair like liquid silver, reaching all the way to her feet. Although half the time she cuts it..." He trails off, as if bearing witness to the woman in that moment while he mulled over what she supposedly looked like.

As he continued his descriptions, his facial features remained a stoic mask. With his voice giving away how much he was starting to enjoy calling back his wife's looks. And it was a lot. At least going off of the way his eyes started slowly glazing over.

It was only slightly, but enough for Geneva to catch on to what was happening.

"And a smile that could kill. Hell, I think she did kill someone by smiling once cuz he just up and dropped like a sack of potatoes before she even raised a finger-" The sound of fingers snapping- well, snapped him out of his self imposed daze.

Shaking his head, the male exorcist's focus instantly returned to the trail ahead. Or rather, the floating woman in front of him.

DAYUM BOI she THICC- I mean uh-

Glancing at the guy over her shoulder, her hand was still extended to his face, fingers ready to deliver another sharp snap if he started dozing off again.

And no, he wasn't staring at her derriere, as tempting and free as such an action would be. He's much too focused on a different woman. The one he exchanged vows with.

"I understand you love her very much. But can I get more usable information patterning to the physical appearance of your significant other?" Geneva questioned further, her voice reflecting a woman midway through her shift at a dead end customer service job. "Please and thank you."

Surprisingly there was no "Thank you for your patronage" at the end of that.

'Do your job or sock it, third narrator.' Thought the icy bi- white haired female Main Character, a tick mark forming on her massive forehead in annoyance.

"Anyway, yeah lemme get on that." Interjected Gyensis, reminding everyone that he was indeed still here. "She has a set of pure white wings, though they're usually hidden by the brown trench coat I got her as a birthday present once- she combos that with a set of black combat boots and blue jeans. Or an ankle length pleated skirt of some dark color with a split going all the way to her thigh. It's a toss up really."

Wow that's actually useful.

"Who asked you?!" Instantly, and in perfect sync, the two snapped at the invisible, ownerless voice.

Okay!

Geneva nods again, this time taking a second before giving the visual feedback.

"Aight, I can work with that." She offhandedly noted before coming to a dead stop. "Well, there goes all that peace we've had since we met."

What was Geneva yapping on about? The new presence she's feeling. Or rather, presences. 6, fast moving, and humanoid in shape. They were over 60 meters away, and by her calculations, they had around ten or so seconds to react. Maybe more.

The information confused her into giving utter nonsense instead of actual information to work off of.

Why? Because it did that's why.

Gynesis, still in the dark as to what the blindfolded over there was witnessing, taps her shoulder and rids the poor woman of her Plot Induced Stupidity (PIS).

"What the fuck are you babbling on like a retard about, girl?" He asked instantly, not liking the concern on the white-haired woman's face. "Stop playing the vague bullshit game and tell me what you're seeing."

Ironic, asking the blindgir-

Okay that joke is way too easy, let's move on.

"Bro we got like 6 bogies on our 12 o'clock bruh." The female exorcist responded, her ability to think finally returning. "You got any weapons?"

As she asked that, she spun to face him properly, shoulders slumping ever so slightly before he even answered. She already had the verdict in her mind made up. No.

"I am a weapon." He responded, smiling for a second before the emotion fell off his face.

'That sounded way less edgy in my head...' He internally mumbled as he raised a finger and furrowed his brow in concentration.

"What?" Geneva asked, looking at the guy like he just grew a second head. "Run that by me again, Shadow at home?"

Gynesis dropped his hand, hearing the indignation in his ally's voice. A sigh escaped him faster than he could shut it down. He was trying to search for the right way to phrase his answer, mostly to avoid digging himself a deeper hole than he already had.

"Never mind." He decided on 'nothing' being the best answer at that moment. As well as the only answer.

As casually as he breathed, the male exorcist flicked his right pointer where it laid. At his side. And out from the digit popped the edge of a razor.

The same kind of razor a barber would use to fuck up your lineup. Which, obviously you'd have to slime him out for-

'Yeah, yeah, your hairline is wack, anywhos~' Geneva, who was watching with growing interest, raised an eyebrow. Gynesis couldn't see it, but he sure as shit felt it.

"Did that-" She was about to ask a question about the razor that just played peek a boo with her. But her new friend cut her off before she could even get half of it out.

"Yes, the thing flows through my bloodstream in pieces, and I can call it to wherever I want whenever I want with a bit of focus. Well, them." During his answer, he kept going. Undeterred. Raising the now bladed fingertip to his wrist before gliding the cutting edge against his skin. Using the razor to open his wrist like it was a sealed letter.

"While I was fighting the dolls, just before you showed up, I ripped my finger off forgetting I had these." He adds, producing another four razors, one at the end of each right-handed finger. Raising the total to five at that moment. "That shit fricking hurt like balls. And not the fun way either."

During his little explanation, the blood on the man's hand shifted its shape. Running down onto his hand and forming a glove and bracer. With the latter even having a pattern of scales running up and down it.

Geneva, who'd been listening to him like that one aunt who just asked you why you're still single listens, opened her mouth. Most likely she was about to say something scathing. But the insult died midway through the planning phase.

Unluckily for the readers since it would've surely burned badly.

"Sounds useful." She chirped instead, watching the way the viscera coating her friend's limb pulsed and shifted.

"What do you have?" He asked casually, pointing the bloody hand at her, palm up.

The girl pauses, taking a moment to think. 'What exactly did Geneva have? Her reveal showed her on an ice throne, so she has to be a cryomancer right? But where's the automatic hovering coming from?' Gynesis internally monologued, trying to deduce his new partner's ability before she told him.

Ayo where are those "fast closing" bogies from 500 words ago-

"Magic~" The female exorcist answered with jazz hands and sparkler effects shooting out of her fingertips.

Folding his hands, Gynesis couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her. "Really?" painted on his face in such bold and italics he didn't even say the word.

And Geneva didn't even react to his indignation. 'I am not letting those turns table.' She mused, her lips curling into a small grin.

Let's just kill those guys." Gynesis shook his head, stepping forward. His feet planting themselves like a man on a mission.

Technically, he was.

"You're no fun~" Geneva winks before falling in step behind him.

Again, he didn't see her do it, blindfold and all that. Hell, he wasn't even facing her general direction this time.

And he truly didn't need to either. It was like she projected her intent directly into his mind. Or at least that's what it felt like to him.

"Shut up, clock in and load up." Gynesis replied in a cool tone, just in time for the arrival of the six entities the two were warned about 7 business days ago.

Breaking through the Fog of War like a pack of wild dogs were-

'Zombies!?' Both exorcists called out internally, almost exclaiming the thought in a mix of surprise and shock.

Six undead, ravenous, brainless, and feral humanoids emerged in different states of disarray.

The front most was the most healthy looking. A brown haired young man wearing what looked like a full police uniform. With he only signs of him not being alive on display being his bloodshot eyes, severely damaged jaw, and missing arm.

As for the rest of them, they were the generic run of the mill half decaying corpses seen everywhere in media. And the only real difference was the fact that they were all running full speed.

For a second, the two stopped moving. 'Out of everything, zombies?' Geneva thought, silently logging what "zombies in the Vinaya sex dimension" feels like as a signature before pointing her forefinger at the one in the forefront. 'It would be a whole lot more intimidating if they weren't moving in slow mo though...' She added watching them like a kid who'd just found a weird looking bug.

"What the helly?" The first to speak was the male of the two, refusing to get put in a stun lock.

'I mean, I was expecting these things to be... faster.' He thought as he walked over to the lead zombie.

Well, "casually strolled" would be far more accurate.

"Hm... They doesn't look too hard to kill." Mused Geneva, floating her way over as well, smirking at the "Baywatch beach run sequence" that was these undead monsters heading their way.

Once he entered melee distance, he wasted no time in attacking. Forming a fist with his blood-covered hand before slamming it right in the head zombie's chest with an uppercut.

On impact, there was no more chest for that zombie. Just a hole remained and three limbs. Limbs that hovered midair due to gravity taking its time to kick in.

"Well that was easy." He stated with a shrug, flicking the guts off his fingers with a detached wave of his hand. "Whatever."

Like that, the male exorcist moved on, going for the rest of the little group. Leaving Geneva behind to do as she pleased.

And what she pleased was raiding the now fully dead cop's body.

"Let's see here..." She chuckled to herself, leaning over to get a closer look. "Flashlight, walkie talkie, holy bullet proof vest, baton, handcuffs- Oh? There we go!"

Droning the first few on the list of noted items, Geneva's eyes lit up the second they landed on a pristine-looking Glock 19. 'It looks like this guy got got before he could use it...' She thought internally seeing as the missing arm and the holster were both on the same side.

Giggling to herself, she reached a hand forward and fished for the firearm. Meanwhile Gynesis was busying himself with racking up a few melee kills. Each one some form of blunt force trauma. And none leaving the bodies in a remotely usable condition.

"Don't mind if I do~"
