Two days later, Kai along with everyone else was travelling by the carriage. The sun was high up in the sky, the girls were busy with their chatting, recalling back on the festival. Kai however was only looking outside the window, his thoughts unclear, playing with the Rubik's cube in his hand when he felt a tug on his clothes.
Looking down, it was Elysia who reached out to him, asking for Kai's idea on how the festival was in the duchy. Kai just smiled to it, as he projected his words, expressing he had fun and would always remember such grand event. The talk was going lively, everyone was having fun. But Kai had other thoughts in his mind, recalling back to how he wandered around all the libraries in the duchy to find a clue for [Adventurer's Diary] but he didn't find anything that could have a link to it.
"Now my only hope is Ray…"
Kai thought to himself, as their carriage slowly entered back in the capital city. After a brief minute, Karina took her leave stating that she had to buy some materials for when academy starts again, which was two days from now. Waving farewell to each other, Karina and the group separated on their ways. But as the carriage moved on, Kai noticed that the way it was going wasn't the usual road. Looking around carefully, he finally asked if they were heading some other place since the road seems to be different than the one he remembers.
To this, Hiro sitting across from him with Sakura chuckled, stating Kai was observant to notice it as he stated that before going back to their mansion; they all will be going to meet the Saintess.
"Saintess…?"
Kai was taken a back, wondering why they were suddenly going to meet the priestess. But then, he thought that maybe they wanted to pray for their well being after the assassins attack from that night. From the information Eva got, the Saintess is someone each empire has; making the balance of the holy energy in the empires. But the Saintess in the Lunara empire is a special case. Apparently, she doesn't come out much in the society and she can't converse in Vestalith. According to rumors, the Saintess was blessed with so much powers that she lost her ability to speak in a normal way.
"Sus…"
Kai thought to himself, as the carriage continued on its way.
After some time, as the carriage slowly pulled by. Everyone stepped out one by one, by the end wheeling out was Kai; putting on his wig as he was helped to his wheelchair. Later as they all went in, they were greeted by the people at the temple, as Hiro talked with them and one among them came forward, guiding them all to meet with the Saintess, who was preparing to meet with them.
They followed the guide through the quiet halls of the sanctuary. The surroundings had a faint scent of incense hung in the air. After a short walk at last, they stopped before a tall, carved door with celestial symbols over it.
The guide turned to them;
"The Saintess is waiting inside." He said softly before leaving.
Hiro turned to the rest, saying they are all here now as he slowly pushed the door open, with everyone glancing inside. Inside, the room glowed with soft, warm light. And standing in the center was the Saintess, a woman in her early-twenties. Her hair shining like silver threads and her gaze kind and soft. She slowly nodded her head to them.
As everyone was looking at her, Sakura leaned down a little and whispered to the group as she said that the Saintess can't speak but she can answer all of their questions due to her connection to the goddess. As Kai and the rest nodded, they looked at the Saintess again who just smiled at them all.
Without a word, the Saintess lifted her hands and gestured for them to approach. On a small, ornate pedestal before her, a crystal shimmered faintly. They all stepped closer, while the Saintess levitated her hand over the crystal brightened, as its light started growing stronger.
As now the group was in front of the Saintess, Hiro and Sakura greeted her as they expressed that they wanted the blessing from Saintess for Kai and the others. Everyone was surprised by it, while the Saintess nodded with a calm smile, looking over at the group. She smiled at them, slowly moving onto a prayer motion, closing her eyes as the crystal in front of her began to shine in a soft, warm glow. Small, soft light particles began to form around in the room.
Everyone was in awe, Elysia and Ana trying to grab the floating ones around them, behind them standing Lala, was mesmerized by the view. Kai too observed the view in awe, a warm sensation filling up in him as a soft glow fell on the palm of his hand.
But as the light fell over Kai, the Saintess felt some sensation; quickly opening her eyes as she looked at Kai in surprise. Giving a thoughtful look, she stepped forward, walking past Hiro and Sakura to in front of Kai. Everyone wondered what's happening, as the Saintess smiled at Kai and gestured her hand for Kai to follow her.
He glanced at Hiro, who nodded at him as Kai turned his wheelchair to follow the Saintess.
"Guess she found out that I transmigrated to this body, huh…"
The Saintess walked to corner, on the left as she kept walking ahead to a room by the corridor. Kai quietly followed her, as she gestured for Kai to enter the room. The Saintess entered first, with Kai going in after her. But as Kai entered, the door behind him quickly closed; as a silence fell over the empty hall.
Inside the room, it seemed to be a normal room; with desk and chair to study, books around and sofa to rest. Kai looked around, thinking the Saintess brought him there and now would interrogate him. But as he was thinking, the Saintess quickly extended both her hands to him, with a notebook & a pen; as she bowed to him.
Kai was taken a back, momentarily surprised as he slowly took the pen and notebook from the Saintess.
"Does she want to have some conversation with me…?"
As Kai was wondering, the Saintess raised her head. From her expression, it seemed to be that she was having a mixed feeling. Her eyes sparkled, along with a shyness as her cheeks were a bit red. Fiddling with her fingers, she opened her mouth to speak while Kai opened the notebook, about to write; to ask why the Saintess got him in that room.
But as he placed the pen's tip on the notebook, he heard a flustered voice of a female, coming from the front; more accurately, the Saintess.
"je sais qui tu es..."
As Kai heard so, he paused. Slowly looking up with a serious look in his eyes; seeing the Saintess with her eyes closed, cheeks bright red and looking shy. The two stayed in silence, with the Saintess being shy and Kai suddenly being on guard.
