In the Land of the rising sun, the first rays had begun to illuminate the world. Himari Ohtani, an early riser by nature, stirred from her slumber. As she descended the staircase, her body still heavy with sleep, she was struck by an unfamiliar glow.

"Where is this light coming from?" she mused, curiosity propelling her forward through the hallway.

To her dismay, she discovered the backdoor of the garage ajar, light spilling forth from within.

"This foolishness," she muttered under her breath. "Kyosuke, how many times must I remind you not to tinker with that old heap of metal late into the night?" Her voice rang out as she entered the room.

But her admonishment turned to horror as she beheld the scene before her. "Kyousuke! Kyousuke!" she cried out in anguish, her heart sinking at the sight of her youngest son lying beneath the car, his upper body crushed, surrounded by a pool of blood.

FEW HOURS EARLIER

"Man, how do I fix this transmission?" pondered a young boy, lying beneath a car, his hands stained with grease and his brow furrowed in concentration.

This boy is Kyosuke Ohtani trying to fix a piece of junk that he calls his car.He had acquired this vehicle at a bargain price from a rather eccentric saleswoman.

"Huh... looks like I really got scammed. I shouldn't have bought this junk," Kyosuke muttered in frustration as he examined the car's faulty transmission.

"In today's day and age, who the heck believes in prophecies anyway?" he huffed, his irritation palpable as he grappled with the mechanical woes of his troublesome automobile.

Yeah, you heard it right. This idiot—*cough cough*—the main character had bought this vehicle because a woman with a weird demeanor had given him a prophecy.

"She said that this car would change my life drastically if I kept it with me for three days. Well, it would be three days in exactly 5 minutes at 12 o'clock," said Kyousuke with a resigned sigh.

He lamented, "Lesson learned. Next time, just don't buy things from weird people you meet at a rave party, especially not when you're drunk."

As he gazed around the cluttered garage, Kyousuke couldn't help but feel a pang of inadequacy. 'What am I even doing with my life? Ryosuke... Ryosuke is already an accomplished engineer. He started working at Tesla, too,' he thought to himself. 'I guess he really did leave me far behind. He'd be working on incorporating AI into cars, and I'm still here in my mom's garage.'

But a spark of determination ignited within him. "This is not the time to give up," Kyousuke declared to himself.

"We made a bet whether I will be the first one to make flying cars or he would be the first to make self-driving cars."

"And I am not losing to him, not when..."

*Riiing, Riiing, Riiing*

Kyousuke was interrupted by the persistent ringing of his phone.

"Huh, who's calling right now?" he muttered, feeling a surge of irritation at the untimely interruption.

His phone lay within arm's reach, placed near the same area as the car jack. As he reached for his phone, his hand brushed against the jack, causing it to slip and dislodge. With a sickening thud, the car came crashing down, engulfing him in darkness.
