"Huff… I am so tired today." Kiara entered her room, closed the door, and sank onto the bed. The rally was over, but doubt gnawed at her. Would it make any difference at all?
"System, when will you start showing me the way to win the election? It's just around the corner," Kiara asked. The system remained silent, repeating the same response it always did.
"WHEN THE RIGHT TIME COMES, THE SYSTEM WILL NATURALLY HELP YOU TO WIN."
"…Yes, I know," Kiara muttered, sinking back into the mattress. She knew it would say nothing else.
Then a thought struck her. "Hey, system… you said you could grant any wish. Could you also help me… conquer the world?"
"YES. THE SYSTEM CAN HELP YOU WITH THAT. HOWEVER, YOUR AGE AND CURRENT ABILITY ARE INSUFFICIENT FOR SUCH AN AMBITION."
"Age? Wait… what does that have to do with my wish?" Kiara widened her eyes. Was the system measuring her lifespan as a resource to fulfill desires?
"I HAVE CALCULATED. CONQUERING THE WORLD AT THIS TIME IS IMPOSSIBLE. WHEN IT BECOMES POSSIBLE, YOU WILL NATURALLY BE DEAD."
Kiara exhaled in relief, though a small frustration lingered. "But… you said you could help with any wish. Now you're saying this one isn't possible? Isn't that… a scam?"
"HOST, THE SYSTEM CAN ASSIST WITH ANYTHING THAT IS POSSIBLE WITHIN YOUR ABILITY. EVEN IF YOUR BODY AND SOUL ARE CURRENTLY WEAK, WE WILL TRAIN AND STRENGTHEN YOU TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL. For example, if you wished to defeat the world's strongest human, that would initially be impossible. The system would train you until you were capable. However, the variables preventing you from conquering the world are so immense that it is literally impossible to overcome them at this time. WE MUST WAIT UNTIL THE VARIABLES NO LONGER EXIST."
Kiara was astonished. Even the system, capable of unimaginable feats, had limits. "It looks like the real masterminds in this world are hidden in the shadows after all," she murmured.
Still, the frustration lingered. "Hmph… it doesn't remove the feeling of being scammed. Seems like all systems are scammers, after all." She had read countless novels and had come to distrust systems, believing many simply exploited their hosts.
She considered the options for her remaining wishes. Wealth? Already within her grasp, and she would gain more as Prime Minister. Her father's recovery? A noble choice, but her father's life was already nearing its end. Choosing that wish would be a waste when it could be used for something far more consequential.
A thought sparked in her mind. "System… can you give someone eternal life?"
"ETERNAL LIFE IS IMPOSSIBLE. EVEN GODS ARE NOT IMMORTAL."
She had expected that answer, but the disappointment still stung. Another thought pressed forward, more audacious than the last.
"Then… can you make me a god?" In her mind, it was a preposterous, almost blasphemous idea—a human ascending to godhood. She had expected the system to reject it outright.
"YES. THE SYSTEM CAN TRANSFORM THE HOST INTO A GOD. IS THIS YOUR SECOND WISH?"
Kiara froze. Did she hear correctly? Could she really become a god?
"System… are you sure?" she asked, leaning forward in disbelief.
"YES. THE HOST CAN BECOME A GOD WITH PROPER TRAINING. THIS PROCESS WILL TAKE AT LEAST FORTY YEARS."
Forty years to ascend. It sounded long, but the potential was staggering—power that defied human limitation.
"How strong is a god?" she asked cautiously. Could such beings destroy a world? More?
"THE STRENGTH OF A GOD DEPENDS ON THEIR REALM. EVEN THE WEAKEST GOD IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO DESTROY A PLANET IF NOT INJURED OR WEAKENED."
Kiara's breath caught. She had been focused on politics, elections, and power—but now, she could destroy the very world she lived on. She inhaled slowly to steady herself.
"This will be my second wish. I wish to become a god."
"Hehe… she is ambitious," a distant observer remarked silently, watching her projection. Gods were not rare; many existed even in Heaven, though most were weak. Yet, as the system had explained, even the weakest among them could destroy a small planet.
"Forty years… she might even die before becoming one," the observer mused, considering her fragile human form and the trials ahead.
With that thought, the observer rose from his seat and vanished into the shadows, leaving the fate of the ambitious girl to unfold.
