Walking through the palace corridors, the pace was slow, coming to a complete stop at points as conversation wheeled from person to person.
At the back of the pack, Gabrielle was observing with an uncanny quietness. Her face appeared resolved, yet nervous. Her thoughts were a complex amalgamation of calculated crazy.
"Don't ask." She suddenly muttered as a person broke away from the group and was now walking beside her.
Her request fell on deaf ears as Hailey asked what Gabrielle knew she would ask.
"So, it's the end of the night. When is your plan kicking in? Remember, if you don't tell him. I am going to."
"Yeah, say that louder, why don't you? It's not like he has amazing hearing or anything, stupid brat."
Hailey turned and frowned at Gabrielle, who immediately backpaddled. "Sorry. Look, I still have time. It's fine. Don't worry about it."
"Well, you better. I hate lying to Apollo. And this lie has gone on long enough." Hailey said before re-joining the group.
