Smoothie: "That guy is finished."
Galette: "He actually said he was going to destroy Skypiea right in front of Conis. There's no way she's letting him off now."
Yamato: "Damn you, Enel. If I were over there, I'd beat the hell out of you with my own fists."
Kujaku: "Even if Conis isn't used to fighting and doesn't have much combat experience, there's no way she's going to go easy on someone trying to destroy her home."
Gion: "Even if our positions are different, Enel really is the kind of scum that deserves to be taken down."
Doll: "So it really looks like Enel has no way to control the lightning manipulated through the Path. What a terrifying power."
Hina: "So Logia Devil Fruits are really this useless? If Arton pulls more Path-based templates in the future, could other Logia users end up getting shut down too?"
So far, out of all the templates Arton had drawn, only Serval's template carried the power of the Path, but that didn't stop Hina and the other diary holders from imagining Arton pulling more Path-based templates in the future.
This time, the energy Serval controlled through the Path was lightning.
Maybe next time, Arton would pull a template that manipulated fire, wind, or some other natural element through the Path.
Just imagining Logia Fruits losing much of their edge in front of the Path left the natives of this world feeling deeply shaken.
Of course, the ones feeling shaken were people like Gion and Ulti—those outside the Flameblade Pirates.
Inside the Flameblade Pirates, Arton's companions only wanted him to draw more and more powerful templates.
That way, not only would the crew grow stronger, but they'd also have a greater guarantee of safety.
After all, the Flameblade Pirates already had plenty of hidden enemies.
Leaving aside the Marines and the World Government, who had already shown clear hostility toward them, other major pirate crews were definitely paying attention to the power Arton possessed.
After all, those crews also had diary holders within their ranks, and those women would naturally want power from Arton too.
If the way they wanted to obtain that power was by joining the Flameblade Pirates, then that was still relatively safe, but if they were planning to seize Arton by force and drag him back to their own territory, then that was a lot more dangerous.
If the Flameblade Pirates grew stronger, that kind of danger would naturally decrease, and then Nami, Nojiko, and the others wouldn't have to constantly stay on guard, keeping Arton from carelessly revealing their location through his diary.
No matter how they looked at it, Nami, Nojiko, and the others all wanted the crew to become even stronger, and that included Conis, who had only just joined.
"Enel, I won't forgive you."
"I absolutely refuse to let you destroy the Skypiea I love."
Conis played her guitar, and the lightning swirling around her grew even more intense and violent.
It was as if it reflected the agitation burning inside her heart.
"You damn woman, don't get too cocky."
"You really think you can stand against me?"
Enel snorted coldly, and violent lightning began gathering around him as well.
Chapter 597: A Delightfully Satisfying Scene
What kind of joke was this? Some random woman from the sky island actually dared show disrespect to him, a god?
Enel was furious as he stared at Conis.
Of course, what made him even angrier was the fact that he still couldn't control the lightning around her.
In the past, lightning had been like air to him—something he could play with as easily as breathing.
So how had everything suddenly changed today?
Even now, Enel still believed the real problem was the instrument in Conis's hands.
He was hesitating over whether to attack her directly with lightning.
If he destroyed that guitar, then wouldn't he be the one taking the loss?
Then, all of a sudden, Enel noticed Arton not far from Conis, somehow having pulled out a bag of sunflower seeds from who knew where and casually eating them.
The sight of Arton looking so relaxed instantly pissed him off, and Enel hurled a bolt of lightning straight at him.
He didn't want to attack Conis because he was worried about damaging the instrument, but when it came to Arton, Enel had no such reservations.
"Come on, I'm just watching the show here. Did you really have to attack me?" Arton complained inwardly, frowning.
Just as he was about to use his own power to disperse Enel's lightning, Conis suddenly strummed her guitar and formed a web of electricity in front of him.
Enel's lightning slammed into the electric net in front of Arton.
The lightning that had always crushed everything in its path struck the web formed by Conis's Path energy—and was instantly swallowed whole, becoming part of the net itself.
When Arton saw that, he couldn't help smiling.
He looked up at Enel.
Sure enough, Enel's face looked absolutely awful.
Like he'd just accidentally eaten shit.
"How is that possible?" Enel shouted in disbelief.
He looked at Conis, then at Arton.
He refused to believe his lightning was weaker than Conis's.
Enel took a deep breath and gathered his lightning again.
He wanted to prove that his power was superior, so he condensed more energy, preparing to attack the electric net in front of Arton one more time, but this time, Arton had no intention of just standing there.
Whoosh!
In a flash, Arton suddenly appeared right beside Enel.
"Huh?!"
Enel's Mantra caught Arton appearing at his side, and in shock, he immediately tried to send the lightning in his hand at Arton, but Arton was much faster than he was.
His fist coated in Haki, Arton drove it straight into Enel's face.
Bang!
Under Arton's punch, Enel's face twisted out of shape, and then his whole body spun through the air in a full three-sixty before flying several meters away.
Only after slamming into the trunk of a giant tree did he finally stop.
"How is that possible?! How can you hit me?!" Enel roared from the ground in utter disbelief.
The pain in his body wasn't even close to the shock and confusion in his heart, and that made sense.
After all, for so long, Enel had believed he was invincible.
Physical attacks were supposed to be unable to touch him at all.
Smoothie: "Now this is the kind of scene people love to see."
Ulti: "In the New World, who knows how many overconfident Logia users have gotten blasted away by fists coated in Haki?"
