"Bastard!"
Enel roared, snapping upright in fury.
Of course he'd heard everything Gan Fall, Raki, Conis, and the others had been saying—he could catch it all through Mantra.
And that was exactly why he was furious.
"That damn former God… he actually dared to agree to that Shandian warrior's proposal."
"I think he's tired of living."
Enel cursed as he started to gather lightning above their heads, ready to strike Gan Fall down on the spot.
But then he hesitated.
He remembered what Conis had just done—how she'd redirected his lightning pillar.
If he didn't put enough power into it, Conis would just deflect it again.
But if he put too much power into it…
Then maybe she wouldn't be able to deflect it—and Gan Fall would definitely die.
But Conis… might die too.
And the instrument in her hands—the one that could control lightning—might get destroyed.
Enel didn't care what happened to anyone else.
But right now, Conis and that instrument were absolutely not allowed to be harmed.
"Damn it… fine. I'll let you rats live."
"When you come to me, I'll make you experience the ultimate terror."
Enel took a deep breath and forced his rage down, bit by bit.
…
Meanwhile, back at the Sacred Ground…
"You—!"
"You just agreed to it like that?!"
Wyper stared at Gan Fall, stunned.
It wasn't that he was shocked Gan Fall would agree to peace with the Shandians—that wasn't even what mattered right now.
What shocked him was that Gan Fall would say something like that while Enel was still alive—and here, on Enel's turf.
All four priests were already down. There was no way Enel hadn't noticed what happened.
If Enel didn't have that level of awareness, Skypiea wouldn't be trapped under his terror in the first place.
"What, you don't want it?" Gan Fall shot back, flicking Wyper a sideways look. "Or are you just too afraid to say anything?"
For some reason, Wyper felt like that glance carried a hint of contempt—and the frustration in his chest spiked.
Almost reflexively, he nodded along with Raki's earlier proposal.
"Good," Raki said, hands on her hips, smiling brightly. "Then it's settled."
"Wyper. Gan Fall. Don't you dare regret it later."
"…Uh."
Only then did Wyper realize what he'd just done, his mouth twitching with awkward embarrassment.
"Hey… Raki. Are you serious?"
"You really don't need our strength? You're just going to rely on them to deal with Enel?"
Wyper took a slow breath and asked the question straight.
"Trust me, Wyper."
Raki looked him in the eye, her expression turning solemn.
"You saw what Conis did out there. This time… please trust Conis. And please trust me."
Chapter 590: Enel's Reaction Caught Arton Off Guard
Raki dragged Wyper off to the side and worked on him for a while.
She explained Conis's power, Arton's power, and everything else—then even brought up how Wyper and the others had gotten completely flattened the first time they picked a fight with Arton.
In short…
Arton was already starting to get impatient. He was this close to just ditching Wyper's group entirely—or using Conqueror's Haki to knock them all out and be done with it.
But in the end, Wyper finally nodded and walked back over with Raki.
"I'll listen to Raki. This time, I'll trust you."
"I won't go with you, but you need to take this."
As he spoke, Wyper held out a pitch-black stone.
"What is it?" Conis asked curiously.
"Seastone," Arton answered calmly. "For Devil Fruit users, it's a weakness. Touch it, and you'll go weak as hell. And yeah—Enel's the same. He ate the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, so it works on him too."
"…You!"
Wyper stared at Arton in shock.
He couldn't believe Arton recognized what it was.
Knowing was one thing—but Arton also knew exactly what Fruit Enel had eaten, and just said it out loud like it was nothing.
"Hey! Keep your voice down!" Wyper hissed. "Don't let him hear!"
This was supposed to be their trump card.
Wyper's original plan was simple: with Arton or Conis being strong enough to get close, they'd find the right moment and slap the Seastone onto Enel.
But Arton had just announced the whole thing.
If Enel's Mantra was watching them right now, then that meant Enel already knew about Seastone.
And if Enel knew Seastone was his weakness… how was it ever going to land on him?
Even if Enel was an idiot, he wouldn't be stupid enough to touch it after learning what it did.
What Wyper didn't know… was that Enel really was that stupid.
"Ridiculous," Enel scoffed, grinning as he shook his head. "You pull out some random rock and claim it's my weakness?"
"Pathetic. Truly pathetic."
"They know they can't beat me, so they're trying to play mind games—make me drop my guard, then strike at the right moment."
"It won't work. Human tricks don't work on a real god."
"If that's all you've got, then you're going to disappoint me."
Enel narrowed his eyes, then decided to stop listening to their conversation altogether because he was worried he'd lose patience and go pick a fight right now.
And that would be embarrassing for a god.
"Shh—shh!" Wyper whispered urgently. "Keep it down! Don't let Enel hear!"
Raki blinked at him, genuinely surprised. She'd never seen Wyper acting like this before.
But after thinking about it for a second, she understood.
"Keeping your voice down won't help," Arton said with a shrug.
Just like Enel was using Observation Haki to watch them, Arton was doing the same to Enel.
So Enel's every move was crystal clear to Arton—along with all his weird reactions.
And one thing, in particular, surprised Arton.
Enel was clearly furious… but he was still sitting on his throne like he had all the time in the world.
Arton had already been ready for an enraged lightning strike at any moment.
Sure, he did plan to let Conis handle Enel—but that didn't mean Arton wasn't going to help her where it counted.
