There was a moment of peace as everyone processed all the words Isabella had just spoken. While her personal preferences were known to basically everyone, they had to admit that when it came to her job she could be completely impartial if she needed to be.
She had not gone any easier on Nero than she had on Vilhelm just because she liked the former better. Similarly, even though she herself had admitted to preferring Nero as the obvious choice for the selection of the legion, in her finishing statements she did not make him seem any more appealing than Vilhelm.
All that could be said was that there was no perfect candidate. Both of them had their own strengths and weaknesses. The only thing they needed to consider was how effectively those strengths would compliment the requirements of their future role should they join the legion, and how much their weaknesses would compromise them.
