The night had settled quietly over the bustling town, the soft hum of distant voices blending with the occasional creak of wooden floors and clinking of cups.

Inside his room, Naruto, Tsunade, and Shizune sat around a low wooden table littered with sake bottles and small plates of food.

The dim lantern light flickered, casting warm, golden hues over their faces.

Naruto lounged comfortably, his usual confident grin plastered on his face as he swirled the clear liquid in his cup.

Tsunade, across from him, watched with narrowed eyes, both amused and irritated. She wasn't used to being on the back foot in conversations, but this handsome enigma seemed to have that effect on her.

"So, Alex," She began, her tone casual but her eyes sharp, "You've got quite the strength and an even sharper tongue. What's your story, really?"

Naruto chuckled, tilting his head slightly. "Oh, you know, just a wanderer with a knack for making beautiful women curious."

His grin widened, deliberately vague, his words dripping with playful arrogance.

Tsunade rolled her eyes, downing another cup of sake. "Hmph. Dodging questions already. Figures."

Shizune, quietly sipping her drink beside Tsunade, couldn't suppress a small smile. Naruto's charm was undeniable, and the way he effortlessly danced around Tsunade's probing questions was almost entertaining. She stayed mostly silent, occasionally nibbling on snacks, her eyes flickering between the two as if watching an intense match.

Naruto leaned forward slightly, resting his chin on his hand, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Now, now, Lady Tsunade, isn't it only fair? You're curious about me, but I barely know anything about you either. Maybe I should be the one asking questions."

Tsunade scoffed, her cheeks slightly flushed from the alcohol. "There's nothing to know about me that isn't already obvious."

"Obvious?" Naruto's eyebrow quirked. "I see a strong woman with a temper that could scare a demon, yet here you are, sharing drinks with me. I'd say that's not so obvious."

Shizune chuckled softly, which immediately earned her a playful glare from Tsunade.

Naruto seized the opportunity to tease.

"And you, Shizune," He turned his attention to her, his grin softening slightly, "Why so quiet? Afraid you'll blush again if I compliment you?"

Shizune's face turned pink instantly, her hand nearly knocking over her cup as she tried to maintain her composure.

"I—I'm just listening!" She stammered, looking anywhere but at him.

Tsunade sighed dramatically. "Do you ever stop flirting?"

Naruto shrugged, feigning innocence. "It would be a crime not to when surrounded by beautiful women. Can't let such beauty go unappreciated."

Despite her annoyance, Tsunade couldn't hide the small smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.

The drinks continued to flow, and the playful banter gradually faded into more meaningful conversation as Tsunade's defenses slowly wore down under the influence of sake and Naruto's patient, easy charm.

Their laughter dimmed, replaced by a comfortable silence before Tsunade unexpectedly spoke, her voice quieter, softer.

"You know… life's strange." She stared into her cup, swirling the remaining sake. "One moment, you think you have everything… and the next, it's all gone. Like it never mattered."

Naruto didn't respond immediately. He just listened, his expression thoughtful, his usual grin fading into something more genuine. Shizune fell silent too, sensing the shift in the atmosphere.

"I lost people who meant the world to me," Tsunade continued, her voice slightly trembling but steady enough. "I thought I'd move on, but the pain doesn't really go away. It just… stays there. Like a scar you can't see but always feel."

Naruto leaned back, his eyes distant for a moment, as if recalling his own ghosts. Then he spoke, his voice low, carrying an unexpected depth.

"There was a time," He began softly, "when I too had lost people who were my entire world. The pain was so sharp, I wished I would not have a heart. Thought, if I didn't feel anything, it wouldn't hurt."

Tsunade glanced up, her eyes meeting his. There was no teasing in his gaze now, just raw honesty.

"But time… it teaches you," Naruto continued, his fingers tracing the rim of his cup. "You don't really forget. The pain doesn't vanish. You just learn to live with it. Carry it differently. The people we've lost wouldn't want us drowning in that pain forever. They'd want us to keep living, to find happiness even without them."

Tsunade's eyes glistened faintly, though she quickly looked away, masking her emotions with another sip of sake.

"And besides," Naruto added with a small smile, "Life doesn't wait. It keeps moving, whether we're ready or not. So, we either get dragged along or stand up and walk on our own."

A heavy silence settled between them, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It was the kind of silence shared between people who understood something unspoken.

After a long moment, Tsunade let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head. "You're wiser than you look, brat."

Naruto grinned, the weight of the conversation lifting slightly. "Well, I can't be all good looks and charm. Gotta balance it out with some wisdom."

Shizune giggled quietly, the tension easing as they returned to lighter topics. They talked, drank, and laughed late into the night, sharing stories, jokes, and the occasional heartfelt thought.

When it was finally time to part ways, Tsunade stood, slightly unsteady but smiling genuinely.

"Thanks," She mumbled, not meeting his eyes. "For… listening."

Naruto simply grinned, his voice softer this time. "What leaving already? Come on let's drink a bit more."

As the night wore on, the air thickened with warmth and the sharp scent of sake.

The table was a battlefield of empty bottles, scattered cups, and discarded chopsticks.

Laughter echoed off the walls, slurred and lazy, as the trio indulged in their drunken revelry.

Tsunade leaned back, golden eyes half-lidded, her lips curving into a lazy smirk. "Mmm… y'know, Alex… you're not so bad."

Her voice was husky, sultry even, but dragged down with exhaustion. She swirled the last bit of her drink, blinking at him sluggishly. "For a brat."

Naruto grinned, a glimmer of mischief in his sharp blue eyes. He tilted his head, watching her through strands of slightly darker hair than his usual golden hue. "Oh? Princess Tsunade, are you finally admitting you enjoy my company?"

His voice dipped into a teasing lilt, smooth and velvety.

Tsunade scoffed, but it was weak, barely holding up the usual defiance she carried. Instead, she exhaled a breathy laugh, her head dipping forward slightly.

"Pfft… Don't get ahead of yourself," She murmured, eyelids fluttering. "I'm just… drunk."

Shizune hiccupped beside her, slumping over the table.

"She totally likes you," She mumbled, her cheeks rosy. She lifted a shaky finger, pointing accusingly. "But she's stubborn."
