Chapter 137 - Li Gang IV - I'm being monitored!

As a transmigrator, Li Gang's soul was not native to this world. If only souls born here possessed Imprints, then he would never have one.

At the same time, he relaxed slightly and murmured, "The Awakening Ceremony is held during a period when Heavenly Dao itself is involved."

"Heavenly Dao is supreme, so the intuition I had before—the one that stopped me from deducing further and restrained my thoughts—there shouldn't be any problem now."

Long ago, when he was informed that his father had personally cleared the library, he had felt this intuition.

Li Gang didn't need to reason it out to understand that the outcome of that reasoning shouldn't be known to him. At his level of understanding, he could have figured it out instantly—but he didn't. He knew something was there, yet never bothered to think further.

It was strange—like standing at the edge of a cliff. You don't need to calculate the height or imagine the fall to know the danger. Even without thinking, your body instinctively keeps you from stepping forward.

Back then, Li Minghui had personally cleared the library.

Therefore, there shouldn't have been any book that informed him about the Elemental Emperor. There shouldn't have been any book related to poison either—and poison just happened to be the only path that didn't require high cultivation to master. That book was even Grade 6!

How did this happen? Li Gang wanted them, and they somehow appeared right after Li Minghui cleared the library—right after he started visiting it.

Obviously, his transmigration was no coincidence. Someone had brought him here, and he was being monitored. He was the true mastermind behind the scenes!

Looking at the book about the Elemental Emperor, it was obvious that it had to be written by other Emperors who were opposed to the Elemental Emperor.

However, how could the true mastermind allow himself to be exposed so early?

This wasn't the only clue.

Why was the mastermind able to effortlessly put the book there? Either he did it personally, or he used someone to do it.

Li Gang knew it was the latter!

He murmured, "They can not only read your thoughts, but they can also control you and make you their puppet!"

How did he figure this out?

It had something to do with Li Minghui's actions.

Li Minghui usually doesn't get time for Li Gang and Li Yuxong, yet he somehow had enough time to personally clear the main library and shift most of the books to other libraries?

This clearly didn't make sense and wasn't in line with his behavior! Li Minghui's actions were completely controlled by the mastermind!

But why did the mastermind let his existence be known to Li Gang so easily?

Li Gang murmured slowly, "There are two possibilities. Either the mastermind and the one who can read my mind are two different entities, or the mastermind wants to indicate something to me. Probably, it is to inform me that he is behind me and that I don't need to be afraid of risks. Or probably both?"

Li Gang couldn't conclude which of these possibilities was true. But from the actions he observed, he understood one thing—he could take risks.

It had to be noted that, from the very beginning, Li Gang was suspicious of being monitored. As a result, he would often make silly mistakes in his reasoning, later wondering, 'How could I make this kind of error?'

For example, when reasoning out the source of the Toxic Refinement Art, he forgot that the cover page was also written in a different language.

The reason for his suspicion was simple—transmigration. He didn't believe he was transmigrated coincidentally. He knew someone was likely behind it, and that person would surely monitor him.

The reason he thought the mastermind and the one who could read his thoughts might be two different people was precisely because of this. The mastermind would know his true capabilities and wouldn't make such a silly mistake by exposing himself so early. The premise of all his reasoning was that the mastermind and his enemies were all smarter than him and far stronger than him.

Li Gang also figured out something else. "Whoever is reading my mind wants me to grow quickly. Thus, he would never allow me to die. I could use this as an advantage to improve my experience!"

It was easy to reach this conclusion. He had been gifted the Toxic Refinement Art, a book providing him with basic knowledge of the world, and various books to help him learn new languages. These were exactly what he needed most, and he was 'gifted' them at the moment he needed them.

Li Gang decided that he would make plans that risked his life. He didn't have to appear too outstanding; otherwise, it might make them suspicious!

Li Gang murmured inwardly, 'I can only gamble. I hope whoever is against me can't read my memories.'

If they could read his memories as well, he would have no hope left. Not only were they far more experienced than him, they were also far smarter. If they could read both his thoughts and memories, any plan he devised during this Awakening Ceremony would be exposed before it even began.

Memories were the stored knowledge and experience of a person, while thoughts were what the mind did with them—imagining, planning, making decisions, and so on. Memories also included what you had thought just moments ago!

Li Gang wanted to use his time here to make all kinds of plans to escape their control. Ironically, he had too little knowledge of the world and too little influence to make any concrete plan!

However, unknown to him, he had one advantage—long-term planning. The longer the plan, the more beneficial it became. But this never appeared in his thoughts. He didn't even know the Law of Unpredictability.

Due to this law, even Immortals couldn't see through the future. How could they? The future was obscure, and there was even reverse entropy, which achieved time reversal. This was the only weakness—but he had to make a plan that, while still within an Immortal's knowledge, was impossible to defy.

Unfortunately, there was no Perfect Plan. Only plans that kept changing with time and circumstances had the possibility of achieving perfection—and Li Gang was far from that level.

Now the question arose—how did Li Gang come to know Kong Xuan's hidden location?

Li Gang didn't know of Kong Xuan's existence at all. However, he understood one thing: the mastermind who brought him here had a very powerful enemy—the Elemental Emperor. What if this enemy knew that he existed but couldn't monitor him or read his memories? How, then, would he figure out who the transmigrator was? Shouldn't he have already left behind some means to identify him?

The moment Li Gang thought of this, he instantly began sweating!

'If this is true, I might stand no chance!'

It was simple. He had seen how an Awakened Person's Spiritual Imprint and Quality were identified—simply by touching that particular pillar.

There is a simple way to identify Transmigrator! It is to check whether he possesses Spiritual Imprint!

Now what if the same mechanism was embedded into every single door handle?

The moment there was a discrepancy between the number of Warriors and the number of Spiritual Imprints, the mechanism would mark the person with no Spiritual Imprint, thereby identifying him!

Note that bypassing this by wrapping cloth around one's hand or using other methods was impossible, since it would still create a discrepancy in the count. You had to touch the handle so that the numbers remained consistent, and at the same time, after touching it, your Spiritual Imprint had to be displayed. This was simply impossible to achieve—unless you had the ability to fake your Spiritual Imprint, just like Jin Huang!

Now another question arose.

Why didn't the Immortals force their people to use the same mechanism to identify the Spiritual Imprints of all Warriors, instead of using pillars?

The materials required to create this mechanism, along with the formation needed to sustain it, couldn't be fitted into a small door handle.

It could only be made into pillars.

Only Emperors could use their Conceptual Powers to extract such abilities and forcibly embed them into something as small as a door handle.

Immortals were incapable of interfering in the Divine Spirit World with their Conceptual Powers, and at the same time, the Warriors of the Divine Spirit World were incapable of using the power of Concepts.

Besides, why would they need it when they themselves could see through everyone by reading their memories?

The moment Li Gang left the pavilion, he began visualizing—if someone were to come and check on him, where would they get the best possible view? He didn't think about it consciously; he had already decided that he would visualize after coming out of the door. He was simply following the instructions his brain had given before he stepped outside.

At that moment, he saw his brother approaching.

He didn't pay attention to the question being asked. His gaze simply swept across all possible positions best suited for concealment—places from which he could be easily observed—before finally stopping at the exit.

The exit was the best possible position.

Looking toward it, he said, "It's meaningless."

The Immortals still found it strange that he had done such a childish action. They felt he was challenging the authority of an Emperor—but why would he do that?

They couldn't figure it out for the moment.

But they understood one thing—they had been fooled!

It was well known in the God Realm that Wanderers weren't as smart as the God Race, Immortal Race, or Devil Race.

Li Gang's acting deceived them to the point that they unknowingly revealed a major flaw—that someone was able to read his mind and could potentially control his thoughts as well!

Even though they knew it would have no impact on future outcomes, they still had to tread carefully. They had to start subtly influencing his behavior and subconsciousness so that they could control him later on!

They started making him more devilish, more vile.

Since Immortals' control over vile Warriors was much stronger than over righteous Warriors!

The Immortals still didn't think Li Gang was perfect. In their opinion, his reasoning wasn't accurate. This ant had grown wings and had to be handled carefully—but it was still just an ant.

Li Gang's reasoning had many flaws. First, every Wanderer was introduced to add variables to the world, and this was done by Heavenly Dao itself. So the very premise upon which his entire reasoning was based was flawed. This is the same with his other reasoning as well.

Unfortunately, in this world, it didn't matter whether your reasoning was accurate or flawed. What mattered was whether what you reasoned out could be used for your plans or not. Immortals knew it, and that's why they started dealing with him seriously!
