Chapter 106: The Leisurely Life Ended Before It Even Began

Hagun Academy covered an extremely vast area.

Because its admission requirements were strict, the treatment offered by the academy was also excellent. Not only were tuition and dormitory fees completely waived, the academy itself ranked among the top schools in Japan.

Since Shiro had arrived early, many new students had yet to enroll. Only a few scattered people could be seen on campus, probably the type who were too lazy to go home even during vacation.

At the registration desk, Torajirou Shiro received the school's student handbook, the black-and-white uniform, and the key to his dorm room.

However, unlike an ordinary school, the student handbook of a Blazer academy was practically an alternative phone. It had all the functions of a normal phone, and the only way to distinguish it from one was the messages sent by the academy.

"I've been assigned to Year One, Class One... Dorm room 406..."

Shiro looked at the message sent to his student handbook and sank into thought. It was not that he had any complaints about the dormitory, but Hagun Academy was simply too large.

Just from a quick glance, there were already several student dormitory buildings, and there was not even a map. For a moment, Shiro had actually gotten lost.

"I should have asked Nene to come pick me up."

Just as he was thinking about whether to use the power of fate to find the dormitory, a figure ran past him.

The other person had neat, short black hair, and his dark eyes seemed to contain a certain will. Although he looked somewhat frail, streamlined muscles were hidden beneath his uniform.

This boy was a hardworking talent.

That was Shiro's first impression of him. School had not even started yet, and there were very few people who could keep training during vacation, let alone someone out for a morning run at this hour.

Thinking that, Shiro could not help admiring Saikyo Nene, who had managed to drag the staff out of bed in the middle of the night with a single phone call just to test his Blazer rank.

"Is something the matter?"

Just as Shiro was considering whether to ask him for directions, the boy noticed his gaze and took the initiative to stop.

"Senpai, could I ask how to get to Dorm 406? I'm a little lost."

Shiro showed the message on his student handbook to the boy, who looked somewhat surprised.

"Eh? I live in 405. Are you the new student next door? If you don't mind, I was just about to head back, so do you want to come with me?"

"Then thank you, senpai."

Hearing Shiro thank him, the other boy showed a slightly awkward smile and scratched his cheek with a finger.

"Um... actually, I'm not a senpai. Because I'm too weak, the school made me repeat a year, so I'm still a first-year student this year."

"A first-year student?"

"I'm actually an F-Rank Blazer. According to Hagun Academy's original rules, I should have been expelled, but now that the school has a new director, I barely managed to stay with her help."

During their conversation afterward, Shiro learned the other boy's name—Kurogane Ikki.

The surname Kurogane could be considered famous in this country. The one known as the hero, [Samurai Ryoma], had been born from that family, and besides Kurogane Ryouma, the family had produced many outstanding Blazers.

Yet Ikki, who carried the same surname, had nearly been expelled from school because of his strength.

Judging from the muscles hidden under his uniform, he should have more than enough ability to defeat C-Rank Blazers who neglected their daily training. He was definitely not as simple as an F-Rank.

In other words, there had to be some hidden circumstances behind Ikki nearly being expelled.

However, since Shiro had only just met him, he was too embarrassed to ask about something so private.

"We're here. This is the place."

Ikki stopped in front of the door marked 406 and spoke to Shiro.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome. It's been a long time since I met someone willing to talk with me this much. If you have any problems, feel free to come next door and find me."

After Ikki left, Shiro looked at the door to his dorm room and relaxed for once.

The past two years of his life had been spent in constant fighting. Now, he could finally enjoy a slightly leisurely student life.

Holding that expectation for the days to come, Shiro inserted the key into the lock and turned it. Then he pushed open the dorm room door, passed through the entrance, and looked over his future residence.

The dormitory arranged by Hagun Academy was quite good.

Although the room itself was not large, the use of space was extremely efficient. Besides the necessary furniture, it was equipped with air conditioning, a television, and a sofa.

Even more ridiculous was that beside the bunk bed in the corner, there was actually a small kitchen.

The only thing Shiro could not quite understand was why, in what should clearly be a boys' dorm room, there was a strange red-haired girl standing inside.

Wait.

A girl?

Why would something like that exist inside his dorm room?

He rubbed his eyes and confirmed that he had not seen wrong.

The other party's flame-like wavy red hair fell down to her waist. Her face was completely different from that of an Easterner, and black garments tightly wrapped around her full figure.

Her delicate body, snow-white, was frozen in place, while her crimson eyes stared blankly at Shiro, the intruder who had suddenly entered.

In the next moment, under the girl's gaze, Shiro calmly took the student handbook from his pocket, turned on speaker mode, and dialed a number.

Very soon, Ikki's voice came from the student handbook.

"Hello? Shiro? Did something happen?"

"No, Kurogane. There's something I can't remember clearly, so I wanted to ask you. How long would someone be sentenced for trespassing into another person's residence plus indecent exposure?"

"Why are you asking that? If I remember correctly, according to League law, serious cases can result in losing one's rights as a magic knight and receiving up to three years in prison."

Shiro turned the student handbook around, letting the girl in front of him see the words showing that the call was still connected.

"Did you hear that, unknown intruder? If you come with me to turn yourself in now, there's still time!"

"Intruder? Shiro, what's going on over there?"

"It's nothing. I just ran into an exhibitionist who broke into someone else's dorm room and isn't properly dressed inside. I can handle it quickly, but if possible, please help me contact the school director. Tell her Hagun Academy's public security seems to have a bit of a problem."

Hearing the boy twist the situation against her so blatantly, the girl finally snapped out of her daze. Her face instantly flushed red.

One second later, the girl's furious scream tore through the sky.

"Who are you calling an exhibitionist who broke into someone else's dorm room and isn't properly dressed?!"

Less than a day after enrolling, Shiro's leisurely life came to an end.
