Chapter 35 - Superior

It took an hour for the carrige to reach Djandel mountine.

When the carrige slowly came to a halt, Dawn opened its door and stepped out, with Erisha following closely behind him.

Coal jumped down from the front aswell and walked up to the two.

"We are here. The entrance is just ahead." Coal said while pointing forward.

Erisha looked around with a concerned face.

It was snowing heavily, acompanied by violant gusts of wind that would knock ordinary men off their feet.

They were protected by the carrige's barrier for now, but once they stepped out they would need to hurry.

"What are we looking for exacly?" Erisha asked.

"We need to reach the mountine and venture uphill until we find a large cave. That cave is our destination."

Dawn turned towards Coal next.

"How long can you stay out here?"

"All I can say for sure is that you should not waste time and do whatever you need to do as fast as you can."

Dawn nodded, then turned to Erisha.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes" Erisha replied with a determined voice.

In that moment Dawn approached Erisha and suddenly picked her up like a princess.

"What the hell are you doing!?" Erisha cried out in surprise and emberrasment.

"Calm down. You will need all your streanght to fufill your role."

"My role?"

"I will talk when we are getting near."

After saying that Dawn closed his eyes.

He took a deep breath and slowely let it out.

Suddenly Erisha noticed that Dawn was eminating smoke from his body.

Then Dawn crouched down and jumped.

Jumped so high infact that from Coal's perspective it looked like he was flying.

"So it is true. He was a berserker."

Dawn jumped up the mountine with incredible speed, using his powerful legs he leaped in to the air like a bird and fell like rain.

Erisha covered her face with her cowl to somewhat shield herself from the snow that smashed against her face with every leap.

This continued on for about 15 minutes until Dawn stopped.

Hesitantly, Erisha removed her cowl to see if they have reached their destination.

And they did.

A ginourmous cave met her once she opened her eyes.

The first thought that entered Erisha's mind was a question.

A question she immidietly directed at Dawn.

"What the hell is living in there?" She said in a shocked voice.

"An entier Troll society."

"Trolls?"

"Yes, one of the few monsters whose roots can be traced back to humans." Dawn said while gently allowing Erisha to leave his arms.

"Trolls are highly intelligent, giant brutes with great streanght and durability. They have fat bodies which can absorb impact and keeps them warm during the winter."

"How will we deal with them?"

"Not we, I."

"What?"

"If we enter together and try to fight our way through the horde of trolls that lay within, we would be overrun and killed. The only way to succeed here is for you to go in, through the shadows and find the priest with his party."

"But what will you do?"

"I will cause a distraction."

"But you said that if we entered to-"

"I am no fool elf. I know I cannot hold them for long, but there is no other way. I will put my life in your hands."

In that moment Dawn stepped forward with his hands curled in fists and eyes that burned with a red glow.

"Do not fail me."

Meanwhile, inside the very heart of Geiza a man was looking outside his office window.

His face was stern and his gaze heavy.

He stood with a straight back and hands conjoined behind him.

He was waiting.

In that moment a knock came from his door.

"Come in." The man said.

Then another man entered the room.

His build was much like the one infront of him and their faces also looked similar.

"Why did you call me here Arnold?"

"Because I need to share something with you, Damien."

"Then say it already. I have places to be."

After that Arnold Archibald turned from the window and faced his twin brother, Damien Archibald, the guildmaster of the adventurer's guild in Geiza.

"Your whores can wait brother. I want you to take what I am about to say very seriously. This matter concearns the safety of Geiza!"

Hearing this Damien's face hardened.

"Then spit it out already!"

"I belive that tonight there will be an attack on Geiza."

"What!?" Damien cried out loud.

Then suddenly he remembered something.

"The vampiers?"

Arnold nodded.

Damien put his hand on his chin, trying to process the information.

"Are you sure? What are you basing this on?"

"Recently, I have captured a woman who I suspected could be a spy. It turned out that she was an agent sent by the inqusition to stop a future, seen by a Seer."

"Wait, an agent? You mean only one? That dosen't seem right. If Geiza is truely on the brink of destruction then why send only one and not atleast a small army?"

Arnold's face froze.

His brother was making a good point.

That woman said that this was "her" mission and not "their" mission.

Geiza is the only thing keeping the monsters from roaming towards other settlements by using the adventurers and forest dwellers.

The Empire recognizes this and sends Geiza supplies and soldiers in times of need.

If she was a scout then she should have already reported that she was caught and with portal magic they should already be here.

And that device.

While at the time it only made sense that it originated from the inqusition since they were notorious for creating things like that, but what if it wasent?

What if that woman wasent from the inqusition?

What if?

.

.

.

"No, NO!"

Just as the guard captian cried out an explosion erupted inside Gaiza.

The ground shook and and split open like an egg.

Buildings collapsed and the cries of the citizens filled the air.

It was a sick music that made Gabrielle dance on one of the rooftops.

Her smile was wide showing off her large fangs while the magic that colored her skin wore off, revealing her pale' dead skin.

With a snap of her finger she opened several obsidian black portals around her.

And from the portals poured out an endless tide of undead.

"Those humans are truely foolish! They didn't even consider the possebility of a superior race having superior technology than them! Hahaha, truely laughable!"

Her dance was mesmerizing.

With each step she shed the human shell she wore.

Her skin turned pale, her eyes became crimson and her clothes zore away from her body.

It was then that another vampire stepped through one of the portals.

You are still a magnificent sight to behold, my dear."

The naked woman turned around and stepped closer to the man that appeared with the walk of a diva.

She gently placed her finger on his chin while wearing a smile on her face.

"I know I am. Sadly you cant enjoy this veie for long I'm afraid."

In an instant blood began appearing all over her body like sweat and began coating her body.

In mere moments her entier body, from head to toe was covered in a shell of blood that disappeared just as quickly as it appeared.

What remained was a dress reminiscent of a spider's webdress.

Her legs were covered with tights and left in the open for her to move freely and much to the pleasure of the one beside her.

"No matter what you wear I will enjoy it."

"Hmph, cease with the flattery. Tell me of the targets."

"Yes, the target is a young elven woman. She has blacker hair than the night sky and eyes like a void. She is the primary one. The other is a boy with snow white skin and hair, with green eyes. He is also important to make the woman comply. There is also an unknown helper who we have yet to make a profile on. They are likely the reason Curt failed. They must be atleast on par with the woman if not more."

"Hmm, I guess we will have to see for ourselfs. Sebas, go take a walk."

A wide grin appeared on Sebas's face and his body began twitching.

Then the crunching of bones and muscles filled the air as Sebas transformed in to a more monstrous form.

"Will do, my lady."

Archibald didn't waste time and with a mere thought he summoned his spear and silver armor.

He then crashed through the wall in front of him and jumped down to the dirt below.

Closely behind him was Damien who immidietly charged towards his office to grab his gear.

The brothers knew what each of them had to do to.

They must mobilaze both of their respective forces and begin fighting immidietly.

They feared a day like this would come and so they made plans.

Plans that will now be put to the test.

Tonight Geiza's fate will be decided.

Wether it will burn or survive is up to them.
