Ren followed the man with the vertical scar to a private area which appeared to be a training area along with an area to train ones mana.
"My name is Erick by the way and I will be overseeing your training to ensure that you will be of use to the city.Here put this on for your physical training." Erick handed over a metallic collar that Ren was unfamiliar with.
"What do I do with this?"
"Its used to seal away most of your physical strengh until you reach just below the physical abilities of a base line human.The way it helps with the training is that whenever your unsealed strengh and speed reaches a certain level we will remove the collar and put it back on so it will seal even more of your strengh and speed.The sealed strengh and speed will continuously add up as we continue to remove and put the collar back on for the rest of your training.We'll keep doing this until your strengh and speed reaches a high enough level that we let you take on tasks that will benefit the city.Be warned however I won't go easy on your training." Erick said as a shiver went up Rens spine and he gulped.Ren could tell this wasn't going to be easy.

Some time later Ren was on the floor gasping for breath.He had trained quite a bit harder then in his previous life.It was as if Erick didn't know the limitations of the human body and that made his training all the more brutal.
"Hmmm a bit worse for wear but that's to be expected for your first time in your third life.I will admit that you have potential but you have to work hard to make the most of it.Here drink this then eat the dishes behind me." Erick ordered Ren as he stood beside some tables filled to the brim with healthy foods and drinks.
The particular drink that Erick handed to Ren was crimson red and had a pleasant smell.Ren had noticed what appeared to be servants coming in and placing food and drink on the tables.He wanted to ask about them but he quickly found out that Erick only wanted him to pay attention to his training.
Ren drank the crimson drink without a second thought and he began to listen to Erick explain about the drinks.
"These drinks are made from a special recipe dropped from an entity some time ago.It specialises in aiding the development of muscle and sinew.It'll help you gain strengh and speed much faster.The food you see around you also has the same purpose.You ought to feel honoured this is only reserved for mages."
Ren noticed that Erick was in a more talkative mood and began to ask questions.
"Do you know who the gods are or what they look like?" Ren asked this question as he was curious whether or not the knowledge of this worlds natives had changed over time.
"We only talk of the true nature of the gods to those who have completed their coming of age ritual and even though you died and returned 700 years late I suppose you still passed it.The truth is we don't know who the gods are or what they look like.Not even the races spawned in by the gods know what they look like.Aside from what they have done to our race and planet we only have limited knowledge of the gods." Ericks answer caused Ren to think.Erick never mentioned what the gods did on their arrival to Earth so either that was knowledge that Erick was trying to withhold from Ren or it was knowledge that was forgotten to almost everyone but Ren.
"Why was everyone so suspicious about my arrival?"
"Well you see your not the first person we've found.Sometimes the gods like to spawn in some hostile humans to spice things up like necromancers or warlocks and other such things.So forgive us for not being able to trust you entirely." Ericks answer caused Ren to stop in his tracks.What Erick said meant that he couldn't trust every single human he found.
"My friend Raphael even though he possessed only a singular weak mage as a parent he possessed remarkable magical capacity and strengh growing up.Why is that?"
"There are two possible reasons to explain your friends strengh and magical capacity.Reason number 1 he was born with an extreme mutation that resulted in him having a massive mana count at birth or Reason number 2 the gods intervened in his development because they foresaw that he would provide them with a lot of entertainment which is what they do for anyone who they think will entertain them." Ren was taken a back by this answer as well.He had asked because it felt like his friend had been cheating sometimes.It seemed as though the gods were more involved with the world then he originally thought.Either that or Raphael was gifted with good genetics.
