"It is because the caged bird seal has the function of notifying the main members of someone's rebellious thoughts. This means that if I tried to unseal the cage bird seal, I might get caught immediately, and they might even activate the punishment function. " Hinami said with a bit of embarrassment.
" Oh, " Izanami, hearing this, had to nod in agreement. As far as he knows, the Hyuga clan always enforces very harsh punishments for rebellious behaviors. So, with Hinami's identity as the previous branch head's daughter, those main family elders may actually force her to take on dangerous missions until she dies.
Thinking about it now, The real reason why those elders may have shown such malice may have been due to the fact that the person who has managed to get more power and influence than them is Hinami.
Knowing Hinami's character, she must have done many things to make those elders angry. Dancing within the limits of one's patience is something Hinami is very capable of.
"Well, come here. I will unseal this stupid cage bird seal of yours first," Izanami said as she tapped Hinami on the forehead right where the seal was placed.
With her gesture, the caged bird seal began to unravel itself, allowing her to inspect the seal thoroughly. After fully understanding the cage bird seal, Izanami gathered chakra onto her fingertips and drew a small circle on Hinami's forehead.
With her gesture, the unraveled cage bird seal began to retract itself and began to slowly disappear.
"They're all done, " Izanami said as she retracted her hand.
Hinami closed her eyes for a moment before opening them. Her pair of Byakugan had now transformed into a pair of Tenseigan.
Yes, apart from Homura, Hinami was the only other person in her whole family bloodline who managed to awaken her Tenseigan by herself. She didn't need to transplant any other eyes, as her Ōtsutsuki bloodline, which at that time was the purest amongst all of the younger generation.
Even now she didn't have any external help, as although her bloodline is much thinner than it used to be, her soul still carried the necessary chakra needed for the evolution.
"Haaa, this feels much better now, " Hinami sighed as she closed her Tenseigan and turned back into a Byakugan. The caged bird seal restricted her evolution for many years, making her feel very uncomfortable. The feeling was like she was wearing some very tight clothes that restricted her whole body.
"Ah, thank you, Izy, for releasing my seal; you don't know how uncomfortable I was with it, " Hinami said with a sweet smile.
Izanami smiled back and said, " Oh, then would I get a reward for my hard work? " She wiggled her eyebrows like a certain simp would do.
"Hehe, " Hinami chuckled and brought her face close to Izanami's. Both of them stared at each other before Hinami closed the gap between them and kissed Izanami on the lips.
The kiss lasted for a while before Hinami finally broke the kiss, making a bridge of saliva form on their lips. Both of their foreheads touched each other as they gazed into each other's eyes.
"You know, I really missed you, Hinami," Izanami began to speak in a soft voice as she held Hinami's cheek. Her mind began to wander to the past on that fateful day when she lost two of her important people.
"When that bastard stabbed you with that black staff, I felt my whole life crumble. " Izanami's voice began to distort. "At that, I felt my sanity and rationality break free. Do you know what happened next? "
Hinami, knowing what this was, still asked, "What happened next? "
Izanami had a self-deprecating smile as she said, " I finally awakened my bloodline. The bloodline that was unique only to me."
Izanami closed her eyes and opened them again, showing the world the Kekkei Genkai that was unique only to her. Her black eyes began to change as black patterns began to appear on her white iris. Not only that, on her black iris, two white cross marks began to appear.
This is the Kekkei Genkai Izanami awakened on that fateful day. The Kekkei Genkai she named Shinjitsugan. These eyes have no great unique techniques like the Sharingan and cannot evolve. They only have some basic functions like thought acceleration, photographic memory and illusion resistance. Other than that, there are only two abilities that are noteworthy. Those are the ability to see souls and the ability to distinguish different types of energy.
Interestingly enough, it seems as if these eyes were designed perfectly for Izanami, as all the functions she needed to manage the pure land are in these eyes.
"With these new powers, I grabbed that hateful guy's soul and destroyed it completely, " Izanami said as her expression began to distort. Even though she killed that guy in the most brutal way she possibly couldat that time, she still felt her anger had not subsided.
"I see, it must have been hard for you for all these years." Hinami had a sad smile as she hugged Izanami tightly. She knew her death might impact Izanami greatly, but she still didn't regret her decision at that time.
If she had a second time, she would not hesitate and would once again use her own body to shield Izanami from the truth-seeking orb staff that was meant to kill Izanami.
"You have no idea, Hinami. You have no idea." Izanami closed her eyes as she let herself sink into Hinami's comforting embrace.
She really went crazy after Hinami's death. She tried to search for the soul to resurrect her, but to no avail. She began to research about time and space and tried different ways to time travel to the past, but the world's will and the restrictions placed on her made her unable to do anything.
For close to half a century, she was in depression and was like a madwoman who was bundled with negative emotions. She still remembered how she stayed at the pure land for decades, not wanting to come back to this cruel world.
Heaving a deep sigh, Izanami tried her best to stop herself from remembering those past scars. Now that she had finally reunited with Hinami, everything she went through didn't matter anymore.
Izanami's eyes turned cold as determination flowed out of her. Now she is far stronger than anyone in this world, so she would never let that tragedy happen again. She would protect her Hinami even if she had to become the real Goddess of Death.
Even if her dear father comes to challenge, she would not hesitate to teach him why the dead should stay dead.

Deep in the spiritual realm that was neither the pure land nor the ninja world, an old man was meditating when he suddenly felt his whole body shudder, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
"What is this ominous feeling? Is the ninja world going to face a huge threat?" He wondered as his purple Rinnegan glowed with confusion.
"Is it my mother, or did someone from her clan come to this world? " he wondered aloud as he stood up from the void.
"No matter what, I should take a look at the ninja world just in case," he said as his white cloak, which had the symbol of a larger, black Rinnegan marking with a pattern of nine magatama arranged in three rows of three beneath it, fluttered in the imaginary wind.
