Adeline walked out of the therapist's office, approaching Caesar who'd stood up from the chair he was seated on.
He smiled at her, asking, "How was it?"
"It was okay actually." Adeline nodded. "I think I'll stick with her. It's not as bad as I thought."
He secretly let out a soft breath of relief and leaned down to kiss her forehead.
As they walked out, she asked, "Caesar, you're not going to go to work today, right?"
"Uh…" He seemed confused.
Her face fell. "You forgot."
"F-forgot what?" Panic rushed through him. What had he forgotten? "Adeline?"
"You were going to come with me to shop for baby stuff. You promised! It was today." Her face twisted as she stared hard at him.
And all of a sudden, he remembered, freezing on the spot. His face paled, and he gave her a lopsided smile. "I didn't forget."
"Is that so? Because it sure looked like you did." She narrowed her gaze on him.
He refused to make eye contact, chuckling awkwardly. "I was…"
"You were what?"
